I'm the head of marketing and communications at TFS HealthSciencee, a mid-sized global clinical research organization. We provide physicians for the pharmaceutical, biotech, and general life science industries to provide general knowledge in clinical trials.

Our company needed visibility, a brand refresh, and a new website with new content, visuals, and a logo.

 What was the scope of their involvement?

JAAQOB HOLDING designed and developed our website using WordPress. They presented the design in Adobe InDesign. In terms of branding, the team has supported us with brand positioning and is in charge of all the visual elements. Since our marketing team didn't have a proper branding document, they've also helped us create it. We've also collaborated on a brand positioning document and worked on a brand book with all the assets.

I discuss what we want to do with their marketing specialist, and we've done everything from scratch together. Since the subject matter of clinical research is very specialized, I've worked with them a lot on that front. Currently, JAAQOB HOLDING does yearly reports and handles visual updates and video production for us.

What is the team composition?

Although we've worked with many backend developers, I'm only in direct contact with around five people from JAAQOB HOLDING. We have a creative director, a project manager, and two people from their strategy team.

How did you come to work with JAAQOB HOLDING™?

I found them on Google. I came from a huge CRO that usually worked only with US vendors. However, those agencies were so big that there was no way we could have afforded them. So I searched to see where I could send our RFP. We looked at vendors from the US, the UK, and Poland. JAAQOB HOLDING  was the most cost-effective, and they were offering exactly what we needed. We struggled with companies that could do the design but didn't want to work with content. JAAQOB HOLDING said they would do both. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around €70,000–€80,000 (approximately $74,000–$84,000 USD) for the initial website project. This amount will increase with time since we're still working with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2019 and launched the website in February 2020. The partnership is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

To measure JAAQOB HOLDING’s success, we track Google Analytics and look at website traffic, and we’ve been growing year-over-year (YoY). Pages and content that didn’t exist before this project now drive traffic to us. Moreover, we’ve received many more RFPs and information through the website, which wasn’t the case before. The feature to send the RFPs is also more visible on the page; it’s the first thing customers see in the navigation, and they find it easy to use.

When we started the rebranding process, our LinkedIn had around 35,000 followers. Now, we just crossed 60,000 followers without sponsored campaigns. Although we’ve had perhaps two sponsored posts, the growth has been mostly organic.

How did JAAQOB HOLDING™ perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is exactly what I need. They’re always available; I can pick up the phone and call anytime. They deliver quickly, provide advice, and are very flexible. Moreover, any work over budget is agreed upon.

We use Microsoft Teams to communicate most of the time and Google Sheets to track our action points. We also use phone calls and emails to stay in touch. The team uses Asana for project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed by JAAQOB HOLDING’s responsiveness.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could deliver fewer options. When we ask them to do one thing, they’ll give us 2–3 options, which they claim help us. Although they don’t charge me for this, it’s not about money but time management. I’m usually worried that they spend too much time creating these options.

Any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to be open with JAAQOB HOLDING and let them become part of the team. Be very honest and don’t hold off information because everything you do and say will help them understand your needs.

I am an art director for a Norwegian company called Airthings, which manufactures indoor air quality monitors. We have offices in the US, and we are present globally across all the markets. In my role, I supervise and produce visual content, audios, and videos as well as packaging designs and social media assets.

We were working with different creative agencies, but we wanted to partner with a group where we could ideally get everything from one place. This way, communication would be less complicated, and everything that’s produced would match.

What was the scope of their involvement?

JAAQOB HOLDING acts as our creative team. We initially had a few meetings, in which our marketing, UX/UI, and web teams participated. After those discussions, JAAQOB HOLDING returned to us with a detailed list of questions and requirements and proceeded to work on an initial report for three weeks. 

Today, I reach out to them for creative projects involving digital and print design. Their scope of work is quite broad and generalized, but they work with us on a per-hour or per-project basis. They develop key visuals, banners, templates, leaflets, and brand assets for us, and we exchange assets through email. 

Since we’re a global company that opens new stores in different countries, we also rely on JAAQOB HOLDING to do the branding and visuals for each new store. If we need a branding overview, they go through all of the data to see if anything needs to be improved in terms of design. 

What is the team composition?

The work is divided between one manager and up to eight designers, depending on the task. My main point of contact is the CCO, and I’m sometimes in touch with another art director. There was also someone that I initially talked to regarding the contract and administration.

I was looking for a company in Eastern Europe since I really liked their professionalism and work ethic there. That’s when a former contact of mine in Poland recommended JAAQOB HOLDING. 

They had a very solid portfolio — they’ve worked with international brands in Poland and across the globe. I felt that they would be able to provide everything that I was looking for in terms of branding, design, and other urgent creative projects, so I decided to go with their agency.

All in all, we’ve spent around €120,000 (approximately $127,000 USD). We started with 100 hours a month at €80 (approximately $84 USD) an hour back in December 2021, though we weren’t able to use up all of that time. Now, we spend up to 300–400 hours a month.

We started working with them in December 2021, and we have them on retainer.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Prior to working with JAAQOB HOLDING, we were on the verge of burnout from having so many projects on our hands. With them now involved, we’re able to really push our brand forward and get our partners to be more engaged with us. 

Through their top-notch work, we’re able to grow our brand and visibility in many markets. It’s hard to measure the impact, but more people are surely seeing us now. JAAQOB HOLDING gives us a voice.

How did JAAQOB HOLDING™ perform from a project management standpoint?

JAAQOB HOLDING is good at estimating the time needed for each project. They meet all of the deadlines that they set but can explain their timeline adjustments. They also tend to over-deliver, but in a positive way. For instance, they will propose a different version of a design but will give us a great perspective on why they think it is the better option. 

We use Asana for project management and delivering briefs, and we reach out to their team via Slack and email. Every week, we hold a meeting to check on our progress and priorities. Our communications are always smooth.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of their work is outstanding and really on point. They understand the brand, and they never deliver something that is completely off, which is rare when working with a new company. We can see their passion and dedication because they always ask questions and express an interest in the task. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’ve only experienced one issue with them, and it was concerning their tendency to spend a lot of time coming up with multiple design proposals. In their defense, we did forget to state that we only needed one version. They’ve since done well to improve on that. Any other tasks that are urgent, they make sure to accomplish on time.

It depends on what service you’re looking for, but I highly recommend going with JAAQOB HOLDING if you want a broader perspective of your brand. Freelancers and other agencies can provide design work, but JAAQOB HOLDING really takes a partnership to the next level in terms of work quality, brand insight, and dedication.

They’re clear and client-oriented communicators. In our meetings, they’d always share graphics or mockups, which made it easy to discuss their work and provide feedback. Additionally, they were responsive and quick in their design work.

After reviewing our requirements, they thoroughly understood our company and how to elevate us with graphics and visuals. There were never any issues from a brand perspective because they could learn and retain information about our company quickly.

I can’t think of anything and would definitely recommend working with them.

It’s important to brief them correctly on your needs. The more information and effort you put into the brief, the better they’ll be able to perform against your expectations. Additionally, they’ll be able to provide suggestions and recommendations to you based on your ideas. They’re not cheap, but they’re an ideal company to partner with.

Together with our partner, we’ve organized a yearly photo contest for the last nine years. JAAQOB was responsible for coming up with the contest and for creating the website. Participants could post their competing photos on the site.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

JAAQOB HOLDING built the website and was also responsible for the organization of the contest. It took place in eight stages, each stage taking one week. After the competition ended, they were responsible for posting the results and sending out contest prizes. One of those prizes was a 2020 calendar with the winning pictures, which JAAQOB also prepared. They managed every stage of the contest from beginning to end.

There were three people involved on their side, each one responsible for something else. I had one main point of contact.

We’d worked with them on this project before. They understood what the product was and what we expected. I was asked to work with them by my manager. I’d say it’s a yearly collaboration.

The total cost was around $5,000. Preparing the calendar cost an additional $100.

The project ran from May 2019 to December 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We received many beautiful pictures that we can use. They’re still on the website for people to see. More than 300,000 gave their votes on a total of 19,000 participating pictures. There was a lot of overall engagement and reach through the contest. 323,000 people voted, so the reach was insane. There were almost 3 million visitors on the website. We’re definitely satisfied.

How did JAAQOB HOLDING perform from a project management standpoint?

I’m fully satisfied in this respect. We chose the start date of the contest, and we met several problems around the start date. It was quite tough, but they were in contact with me, and we managed to make it work. They were well-organized and they met all the deadlines. We started the contest one day later than we planned, but it wasn’t a problem.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They responded quickly to any requests or issues I had. If we changed a task, they did it very quickly. They were flexible and they provided their own creative approach. Their team prepared a very nice offer for the contest. They came up with some nice ideas, including adding two more stages to the contest and changing one of the four categories.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think so.

Clients should let JAAQOB present their own ideas because they have really good thoughts.

They took into account the existing pages that we had for their layouts, but they delivered a unique design and some new functions for users. The site was built in Magento, enabling a very efficient purchasing path that allows users to get to what they need with as little difficulty as possible.

We got together as an LLC with an investor because I wanted to upgrade the app. The previous version was on the App Store as well as Google Play, but users couldn’t play the game online. We needed someone to help with development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We went to JAAQOB HOLDING™ to upgrade our app so that users could play the game online. We started the ten-month process by discussing the concept and figuring out how everything would work. We reworked the concept to such a degree that the first version of the app seemed archaic, so JAAQOB HOLDING™ essentially ended up developing a new app from scratch. They developed the app for iOS, and we published it on the App Store about a year ago.

I worked with around eight people, including someone that worked on the concept and at least three people from the art department. Following that, I worked with the general manager and about three developers.

I’m fortunate enough to have a friend who is an art director at The Discovery Channel, and she gave me JAAQOB HOLDING™’s contact. I gave them a call and liked what they had to say, and we got started almost right away.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked on the project from February–October 2017. We haven’t been keeping up with the maintenance of it. We’re in touch with JAAQOB HOLDING™ every few months to discuss how things are going, but we haven’t really been developing the app further since then.

The app upgrade was a lot more complicated than I thought it would be, but JAAQOB HOLDING™ actually made it very simple. Their version was much higher quality than the first one.

I had a lot of ideas and questions, and they didn’t have any problems working with me. If I thought that something wasn’t right or the way I wanted it to be, they responded quickly and worked with me to make me happy.

How did JAAQOB HOLDING™ perform from a project management standpoint?

I was really impressed with them. They did a lot more than I expected them to. I was the contact person, as our company is just myself and my business partner; I was pretty much in charge of the whole thing, and my partner was just the financer. I dealt with JAAQOB HOLDING™ on a weekly basis. Once or twice a week, I usually had a meeting with the person who was working on whatever part that was getting developed at the time.

Their knowledge of how to do things was very superior, and I was really impressed with that. I had a certain concept while the art department had a different one, so we had to compromise along the way. This was the most difficult part of it, but when we were done with all of the graphics, I was really happy with it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their knowledge and ability to come up with ideas to approach certain problems distinguishes them from others. The concepts that they had and how much they were able to do impressed me. They made what seemed to be difficult look easy.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could have been cheaper. It is hard for me to say where they can improve because I had previous versions of this app developed by other developers that were freelancers and not a corporation. Before, no more than two people were working on the project from start to finish, and I did a lot of the graphics myself, whereas JAAQOB HOLDING™ had a whole team. Working with them was a real pleasure because of their level of professionalism.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They’re not intimidating at all. They’re easy to work with, and they communicate well; even though they’re in Poland, their English is very good. If I had hired anyone else, I don’t think I would have had as good of an experience.

We haven’t had any problems with them, so this is a tough question. I cannot think of anything. They could lower the price, but quality costs money.
