How did you select this agency and what were the deciding factors?

We tried multiple agencies and online platforms. This was the only company capable of finding very senior engineers with the right blend of front-end and back-end skills.

This is an ongoing partnership where we have augmented multiple teams with front-end, back-end, and full-stack resources we could not source ourselves. The engineers quickly became valuable members of their respective pods. The engineers raised the bar for other team members and truly acted as internal resources with great initiative and focus on making their respective products successful.

We discussed the project with Tomek and started interviewing engineers. We did two interviews to establish engineering competency and cultural fit.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

The availability and overall performance helped respective teams accelerate the work on their roadmap by an average of three to six months.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We are a hybrid company, but their developers were remote. Despite that, there were never any problems, and engineers blended with their teams very quickly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The engineers were cost-effective and very skilled. However, what truly stood apart was their interest in the overall product, contribution to the direction of each team, and willingness to go above and beyond their responsibilities to help make the teams more successful.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I cannot think of anything.

I’m a VP for a company that makes document management tools. We handle PDF and document processing in addition to offering tools that convert PDFs, compress them, and have editing capabilities.

We wanted to expand our engineering team rapidly, so we hired iTeamly for staff augmentation. We were looking for product-minded engineers and individuals who would care about what the product did and how it was used instead of just executing tasks.

iTeamly provides software engineers who help build and maintain our application. They also offer engineering consultants and programmers.

Currently, we work with 5–6 people.  

How did you come to work with iTeamly?

I knew our contact person from a company he used to work at. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together at the beginning of 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

iTeamly provides us with high-performing engineers that have a good product mindset. With their help, we’ve been able to develop the product faster.

How did iTeamly perform from a project management standpoint?

Their product management has been good for the most part, and deadlines have not been a problem. We use Jira as a ticketing system, and they’re embedded in our Microsoft Teams. They attend daily stand-ups, planning meetings, demos, and work with our team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They try to understand our needs and iterate their selection process based on what we're looking for.

There’s nothing we can come up with.

Come prepared and share as much about your requirements and needs as possible. You should also try to be precise about the kind of profile you're looking for.

We have a Software-as-a-Service company offering product for event management. We provide the product to companies, public organisations and non-profits in Europe. I'm CTO and partner in our company.

For what projects/services did your company hire iTeamly, and what were your goals?

We started a renewal project to modernise our product, which meant that we had a lot of design and implementation work to be done which we were not able do with our in-house product engineering team only. We needed to find senior expertise who could, with us, design and implement the new technology platform to base our product on.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were already collaborating with one vendor from Poland, but needed to find particular expertise for front end development and test automation and iTeamly was able to provide the needed expertise. I personally also had past business collaboration with previous company with iTeamly owner Tomasz. Our in-house team is located in Finland but due to remote working practices, it was easy to ramp up nearshoring collaboration with iTeamly experts.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Our project was already ongoing when iTeamly experts joined. At first it was technical interviews to validate that the candidates can bring in what we were looking, then onboarding to our organisation and project and then daily collaboration. The iTeamly experts joined our existing Scrum teams. Key technologies used were React with Next.js, Cypress for test automation and GitHub and Github Actions based CI/CD pipeline.

One Senior Front-end Developer and Senior QA Engineer, both working together in our existing teams and bringing in their own field of expertise into the teams.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Together with iTeamly experts we were able to execute the project as planned and release the new technology platform with rewritten features for end-users.

Close by-the-book Scrum according to Scrum Guide with sprint plannings, refinings, daily standups, sprint reviews and retros. Product Owner maintaining the backlog and Scrum Master facilitating the day-to-day. Two week sprints were used. Monthly sessions with iTeamly CEO Tomasz, to funnel feedback to and from iTeamly experts.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Tomasz's professionalism, kindness, and attitude to always help and solve the customer needs were impressive. The speed how quickly very good candidates for the needed roles were found.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing big really. One of the challenges of this remote and online working era is that building the relationships between individuals and teams is quite a bit harder. Face-to-face time would be very beneficial, but organising this in remote organisation has its challenges. This is something that we need to figure out together with iTeamly.
