We contracted Inkblot to build a refreshed internal tool for our Production Team, that provided a seamless experience for users to manage workloads, client interaction, finances, shipping, job cards, resources and more. The first step was for them to understand our system features, flows and information. This allowed them to map out the information, architecture and navigation of the system. Once the team had a good understanding of what we required, they began building out a set of low fidelity designs, which outlined the "golden thread" user journey, displayed across an array of skeleton screens. This was all done in Figma. They then began working on the UI design system, which contained all the interface and style elements needed to begin building out the next step, high fidelity designs. The high fidelity designs used the detailed user journey outlined in the low fidelity designs, to produce a pixel perfect version of what the final application should look like once developed. Finally, we went an extra step and asked InkBlot to build out a prototype of the system, so that we could be 100% sure that the designs covered everything before moving to development. In summary, the major deliverables were:

They set a clear timeline at the beginning of the project, broken down into milestones. We were able to clearly track these milestones when we would regularly meet to discuss the Figma designs (which we had access to). At any point,I could jump onto the designs to see how things were going.

They have been excellent. There have been no major delays, and if there were any, it was caused by me wanting to rework or add something to the designs.
