I work as a Project Manager, managing film projects for Shell in the APAC region, under a division similar to an in-house creative agency.

What business challenge were you trying to address with the vendor?

One of our business partners (Shell Retail) was organizing their annual Smiling Stars event in Dubai, and I was assigned to manage the film brief (various film requests) for the event. It is an event that is attended by 1100 participants, who are staff of Shell Retail, that were being rewarded for their top performance throughout the year.

Creative Solutions needed to partner up with a Dubai-based vendor to plan and execute the film requests. After a process of connecting with various production houses and vetting them, and then presenting the final listed 3 potential agencies to my global team Lead, we decided to proceed with HyperJump Productions.

Exciting in terms of capturing shot angles and during editing, pleasant to work with, willing to go above and beyond, very responsible agency.

Maybe in terms of accounts department – to be able to serve according to the payment terms of a multinational corporation (ie: 60 days after invoicing upon project completion)

I had a large corporate client in Dubai, but I was on another production project. As a result, I hired HyperJump to film for me since they were also based in Dubai.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I had a list of interviews that needed to be filmed for the client, and HyperJump helped me with scheduling, location scouting, and collaborating with the client. We corresponded back and forth as they worked on filming during the three-day shoot. They used their own equipment for the shoot.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The quality of HyperJump’s work was great. We had some shot composition issues, but they had a tight space and weren’t in a great location. Nonetheless, everything was great, including the audio and video quality. My end client was a bit challenging to deal with, but the team dealt with them well. I was impressed with that, so I’d definitely hire them again.

How did HyperJump Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

HyperJump was great at project management. It was a scheduled shoot, and they showed up on time. They sent me the footage, and everything got here as expected. To communicate, we typically used emails.

The quality of their work was good, and I liked that they were patient with my client. I wasn’t there with them, but they handled things well.

I’m the CEO and co-founder of Dukkan Media. We’re a cultural consultancy that helps businesses understand the people of the Middle East. We provide a mixture of business, marketing, cultural research, data analysis, insight generation, and strategic support for public and private firms.

What challenge were you trying to address with HyperJump Productions?

We were hired to shoot a couple of film projects.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired HyperJump Productions on two different projects. First, they came on board as technical support on a film shoot. Our producers contracted them, and their objective was to provide filming equipment, camera operators, and a director of photography. They just assisted the crew; they weren’t responsible for the video’s output.

The second engagement was a smaller project. They were hired solely as a production and post-production company for the film. They edited the project that we shot in Saudi Arabia.

How did you come to work with HyperJump Productions?

I was interested in finding suppliers that we could work with. Someone from my staff was also a musician; they shot a music video for him, and he recommended them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around 30,000 dirhams (approximately $8,000 USD) on the first engagement and about 15,000 dirhams (approximately $4,000 USD) on the second engagement.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2021. The first project was a two-day shoot; the second project was longer because it was a trip to Saudi Arabia. We were there for four days, and they worked on the edit for about a month. Our engagement ended in January 2022, but we still use them on a project basis.

The first project was released on YouTube, and the second was released on Instagram. They were creative, smart, and exciting. They always came back with great work.

How did HyperJump Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

We used email, phone calls, WhatsApp, virtual meetings, and in-person meetings to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were talented and incredibly motivated. They were great at what they did.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only issue we encountered was that they were too young. They didn’t have an extensive network and were still new at running their business, so they were still figuring out how to navigate this industry. For example, when we were looking to rent equipment, they came back with things above the requirement. I understand they wanted to ensure they were extra safe, but they went way over budget.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You have to understand that they’re young. They need leadership and mentorship at times. When working with them, you should have more experience than them to lead them in the right direction.

What challenge were you trying to address with HyperJump Productions?

We wanted a high-quality music video with a modern spin to broadcast on MTV Africa, MTV Asia, MTV Middle East, and Vevo.

What was the scope of their involvement?

HyperJump Productions handled the entire music video production from start to finish. The creative process was very collaborative — we went to them with an initial idea, which we went back and forth on with HyperJump Productions. Then, HyperJump Productions presented a spin on my idea that I loved; they were creative with their storylines. Then, they set up the set and provided the equipment. Their production team led the editing and post-production processes.

HyperJump Productions was recommended to us by our music producer, who'd done work with them before. The producer recommended them because they're a young, fresh company with a lot of cool ideas.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

HyperJump Productions went above and beyond for us, and I was delighted with the final product. Usually, we'd have millions of views on our videos; although this one did well, it wasn't our most viewed video. However, that has nothing to do with HyperJump Productions' work. There are a lot of other factors that contribute to video views. 

I've actually done seven music videos with them, and they were the most professional and hardworking team I've ever worked with. I would work with HyperJump Productions again because they're the best production team I've ever worked with. I'd recommend them to anybody. 

How did HyperJump Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

HyperJump Productions gave me project deadlines and actually stuck to them. They delivered exactly when they said they would. Typically, we used WhatsApp and phone calls to communicate. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

HyperJump Productions' creativity and work ethic are above and beyond any other company I've worked with. They're outstanding professionals.

There is nothing for them to improve.

I'd suggest that customers be open with HyperJump Productions and tell them precisely what is needed. They will probably go back to the customer with an idea even better than the original.

We outsource some of our productions depending on the scale and the specific project requirements. We were filming a project for one of our clients, and we needed some support on the production side.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

HyperJump Productions has been helping us with our production needs. They help execute some of our projects, handling cinematography, lighting, and filming. For our first collaboration, we discussed back and forth and briefed them on our needs. We had the production set out in terms of location, and they came in to support us. 

So far, we’ve used them for 4–5 projects, and the videos have varied in length, averaging 30–60 seconds. The videos are usually posted to our clients’ social media channels. For every collaboration, we handle technical aspects, wardrobe, and casting ourselves, and HypeJump Productions provides the director of photography (DoP) services. The team brings their own equipment, including cameras and lighting.

Our key collaborator is Dennis (Founder), the DoP; we work closely with him to plan the videos' execution. Saif (Co-Founder) is a producer and organizes everything from their end. They also have a whole team of people, including focus pullers and teammates who help out with the equipment. 

How did you come to work with HyperJump Productions?

We reached out to a lot of people in the industry to work out who we would like to collaborate with in terms of cinematography. HyperJump Productions had just started in the market, and we jumped on a Zoom call with them for an initial discussion. I was quite impressed with their other work, even though it was long-form and more cinematic than what we do. We started with one project, and HyperJump Productions was so good that we began to send more work their way.

We started working together around December 2020, and our engagement is ongoing.

Our collaboration with HyperJump Productions has gone really smoothly. The videos have turned out great, and they’ve accomplished exactly what we envision. Moreover, they’re easy to work with and quite eager. Dennis always provides recommendations of what he has in mind for the cinematography. Overall, our projects with HyperJump Productions have all gone really well.

They have solid project management and go above and beyond. We plan everything over Zoom calls or in-person meetings and otherwise communicate through email.

I’m impressed with HyperJump Productions’ great eye for quality in cinematography.

I don’t have specific advice because the types of projects they do for us are probably different from most of HyperJump Productions's work. However, they’re very adaptable in a range of various productions.

I worked at a SaaS company for a year between 2020 and 2021. Our comapny is a SaaS product in the Food and Beverage industry focusing on internal foodstuff ordering for restaurants, cafes and bars (to name a few). The tech is composed of an app, and an analytics dashboard. We are based in Ireland and are an Early stage start up. I was head of marketing and Brand for the year I worked there, responsible for Brand reforms.

For what projects/services did your company hire HyperJump Productions, and what were your goals?

Our product and Brand was struggling from a lack in uniformed messaging and brand recognition. We hired HyperJump production -as a part of a Marketing campaign to re-vamp our brand, re explain what we do and who we are, Who we are for and so on. Together with hyperjump we conceptualised and created the idea of a Mini documentary of testimony from our existing customers and a trailer to this documentary to support or brand on a mass scale. We also received a lot of Broll and photos for our social media content.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The reason we selected Hyperjump is because I know Dennis from referral from a colleague that had worked with him some years before. We wanted to use Hyperjump because of the creative mindset and ideas that they brought to the table when we pitched our first idea to them. They also followed out brief very closely and ,understood what we wanted, which was lovely.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

We created 2 videos. A 4 minute documentary compiled from interviewing 3 clients of ours an their premises/product all over Ireland. A documentary was made from this and a trailer. This all started when we pitched the idea to them and came up with the concept and the style. We then organised what it would look like and the story board etc. Then The filming took place and then the editing of both deliverables, as well as the photos and the b-roll for our socials.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I worked with Dennis, Hector and Saif. Reply to emails was usually within 12 hours which I appreciated greatly. We had some minor delays due to covid and restrictions, however the team really came through for us!

I’m the director of a media company. We’re involved in all types of media, bud we mainly do corporate film production and television broadcasting.

What challenge were you trying to address with HyperJump Productions?

We needed a camera crew and team, so we brought in HyperJump Productions to help us with filming.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The first project we collaborated on required a whole day of filming. I was tasked with producing a six-minute corporate film that would be broadcasted on BBC World. HyperJump Productions provided the camera team and the filming, sound, and lighting equipment needed. I directed the shoot, and they worked under my instruction. 

We were originally supposed to use only one camera, but they suggested that using two cameras would be more effective at getting better-quality footage. They assured me that it wouldn’t cost extra, so I took on their offer.

Once the filming was done, they gave me a hard drive containing all of the raw footage. Postproduction was my responsibility, so they made sure to deliver everything in a format that I could edit. While I was in their office that day, their editor also answered my questions surrounding broadcast compliance issues. They gave some good technical advice, which was very helpful.

The final video has not gone live yet; it’s currently pending compliance since some statements and figures made by the client need verification. Once this stage is completed, the video will be broadcasted and will be used by the client for exhibitions, seminars, presentations meetings, and websites.

We worked with two people from their team, a director of photography and a sound operator. We often go into clients' offices so we have to keep the crew very limited.

How did you come to work with HyperJump Productions?

HyperJump Productions knocked on my office door one day and introduced themselves. I was about to start looking for crews to assist me, but I considered them for the project since they seemed very friendly and polite. 

They seemed extremely passionate about what they do, which is the first thing I look for in this industry. The fact that they've got international experience impressed me as well. They showed me a few examples of their work, from which I was able to see their technical capability and all of the important equipment that they had.

How much have you invested with them?

We had two projects, and we spent 6,000 Dirhams (approximately $1,600 USD) on each.

What is the status of this engagement?

I met them in November 2021. We did our first shoot in the middle of January 2022 and another one at the end of February 2022. I'm very happy and very comfortable working with them, so I will continue to use them exclusively if they are available to shoot here in the UAE.

The client was very happy with the final video, thought it was great, and approved it for broadcast. HyperJump Productions provided excellent-quality work and went above and beyond to exceed our expectations. The equipment they provided was higher in quality than anything we’ve ever used. In fact, we even needed to downgrade the quality a bit so that the format would be suitable for broadcast.

Dennis (Founder) was an excellent director of photography. He and his team were very communicative, quick, and efficient, even turning up early for the shoots. They were also very presentable in front of our clients. We got along very well, and I was very comfortable throughout our collaboration because there were no issues while we worked together.
