We were redesigning our frontend and adding additional tiers and benefits for our users. We wanted to be able to have a more seamless experience and include dark mode/light mode and multiple updates to user flows. We engaged the team to help us with the user experience overall as well as design the new UI/UX.

We use figma, jira, confluence, and miro to manage and track the projects. Additionally the team met with us daily/weekly and ad hoc as needed. They are extremely receptive to feedback and reiteration.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The combination of breadth of knowledge and the flexibility of the group that we working with was top notch.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think we could have had better reporting from them as well as better and more consistent communication on our side. We've definitely continue to work together and work on both sides to strengthen our partnership.

I am the Marketing Director and Producer of Mondlicht Studios, a Germany-based advertising production studio. We focus on 2D and 3D illustrations, animations and motion design, modeling, XR, and real-time projects.

For what projecFor what projects/services did your company hire Humbleteam? This time we worked with Humbleteam on The Race Car Project. We started this project at the beginning of 2020. For us, it became a response to the events of the year and a way to support each other.

We wanted to inspire the creative community for collaborations and creative projects, and, because of COVID-19 and lockdown all over the world, all of us found some time. When we realized how much we had done, we decided to create a website for the project. And we asked Humbleteam whether they wanted to participate.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We have already worked on a couple of projects and always were happy with the result and service of the studio. The best thing about Humbleteam is that they are always trying to find the best possible solution for the task. So, when we understood that we wanted to create a web version of The Race Car Project, Humbleteam was our first choice.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We started working together in July 2021, handing over the CGI cars prototypes and some general information. After several iterations, Humbleteam presented the website design, enhanced with sound and animation. They also helped with several content improvements and the website development process.

We appreciated how attentive the team was to the content and the details, which helped to emphasize the most exciting parts of the creation process.

We worked with Sergey as Design Lead, with more designers, content managers and devs joining later.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

As far as I know, the web version got several design awards, which helped attract additional traffic and raise one more wave of interest to the project, and that’s amazing!

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The team was very responsive to the needs of the project. We had a few calls to discuss some ideas and problems, and Humbleteam always managed to find the best possible solution. They were also in touch via messengers, so we had almost 24/7 support during the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I admire the strong vision of the team. You just come to the studio, describe the project, show the content you have, and get an amazing layout in a couple of weeks. That’s crazy! The team is also open to discussions. One of the challenges we faced was animations of the hero images.

It was very tricky to find the look which all artists approved. Finally, Humbleteam suggested a few versions, and we just picked one we liked the most. One more strong side of the team is the communication process – as a client, you always know what and when will be delivered and can ask any question.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The is always room for growth and improvement. Humbleteam does not have problematic areas, at least from the client’s point of view. But I know that sometimes they are overflooded with projects, so I wish them to grow and find more talented designers for the team.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I run all the fintech product operations of a property management and fintech company that rewards renters for paying their rent. Our fintech department also helps renters build or improve their credit scores.

What challenge were you trying to address with Humbleteam?

Humbleteam provides us with the bandwidth for building, maintaining, and improving our fintech app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Humbleteam serves as our design team, and they work with our in-house creative team to make sure that their outputs are consistent with our brand message. The team comes up with and creates designs that go into all of our sprints. Our main product now is our credit-building service, and their resources have been instrumental in creating it. The app is available for both Android and iOS devices; the team has used React Native for both platforms.

Humbleteam also helps us communicate with our users in a more conducive fashion. They also help us do user tests to identify potential issues that may cause roadblocks for the app down the road. Further, we run on a two-week sprint schedule, so Humbleteam is on our product team meetings and standups with product managers throughout the week. When we tell them our focus areas, they deliver assets to us for discussion and iterate on them.

What is the team composition?

My main point of contact is Sergey (Design Director & Co-Founder). We’ve also utilized other members of their team, including Vlad (Product Designer). Some teammates rotate in and out of the process. 

How did you come to work with Humbleteam?

Humbleteam was already working with us when I joined the company. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $100,000–$150,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with them in March 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our success metrics are user engagement and retention rates. So far, we’ve seen those numbers increase. We also have internal metrics for the deliverables and their quality. Our team also tracks how often we need to update designs; we’ve seen a reduction in this metric, meaning few things ever go wrong in the deliverables. If something does go wrong, we usually can’t attribute it to Humbleteam’s work.

How did Humbleteam perform from a project management standpoint?

Humbleteam’s project management is great. I’ve had no issues with them when it comes to schedules and communication. In fact, they always notify us about anything that may go against our best interests. Their hours are also flexible, so they can work with us whenever we need them. That’s extremely remarkable. 

To communicate, we mainly use ClickUp and Trello. We also integrate design and mapping tools into these services to ensure our assets are managed properly. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Humbleteam has a good mix of quality and attention to the timeline. When we work with someone not in the same room as us, balancing those things becomes difficult; either the timeline and roadmap are blown out or the quality ends up taking a massive hit. With Humbleteam, we’ve never seen any of those issues. They’ve always delivered on tight timelines even with confusing objectives, providing extremely high-quality work. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t any.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give Humbleteam the proper amount of time, resources, and access to all stakeholders. This way, they'll understand not only the designs and flows you want but also the rationale behind them. In our engagement, when Humbleteam brings in a new member to work with us, the member goes through such an onboarding process, speeding up the development tremendously.

Stoovo finds ways for gig workers to earn more for their time. . We aim to provide gig workers the same stability as full-time workers by empowering them with insights and tools to reduce their income volatility and optimize their earnings. I am the co-founder and CEO of the company.

We hired Humbleteam to help us design our product. They also created our marketing website and several marketing campaigns.

How did you select this vendor?

A colleague of mine at Google recommended Humbleteam based on their concept for Google Bank. We knew we needed a design partner with startup experience, that could deliver quality work and iterate very fast. Humbleteam seemed to fit the bill.

In the first two months we worked on the first version of the app, brainstorming, reviewing product requirements and experimenting with design solutions. In February 2020 we had our MVP ready for release, as well as a marketing site to attract users. Since then we’ve continued working with Humbleteam on product updates and multiple marketing campaigns.

We worked very closely with our designated Design Lead at Humbleteam who led the work of several other designers at the agency.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

On the strength of the original product we managed to raise $2.4M, attract 30k users to our waitlist, convince several senior stakeholders to work at Stoovo, and raise our seed rounds.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

One of the reasons we loved working with Humbleteam was the excellent and seamless communication. We were in constant touch with our Design Lead, and he was really a part of our team. We brainstorm together, he knows the product in and out, and even reviews our product requirement documents. We experiment and try out a lot of things, and HT is able to follow our pace while still meeting deadlines.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

First, the level of expertise is very high — we’re not just getting a beautiful UI but also a deep understanding of our business goals. Second, the communication is excellent and seamless — they’re really an integral part of our team. Third, the consistency and the ability to adapt — we usually experiment and iterate a lot, and for Humbleteam that comes very naturally.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Doing more usability studies could validate ideas with users more quickly.

To create a new and appealing design for our platform, which would help us attract new clients and investors.

We got to know Humbleteam and their work when we shared an office with them at WeWork in Prague. They were an obvious choice to help us with our product design.

We started our collaboration in December 2019 with a prototype and design solution for the platform. Since then the product has gone through several iterations.

We originally hired Humbleteam for UX/UI, but since then they’ve taken over all the design-related aspects of the product — the website, pitch decks, marketing assets, etc.

What was the team composition?

We started working with Sergey as Design Lead, with more designers joining later. During our collaboration, we’ve worked with several designers at Humbleteam.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The MVP helped us secure a round of investment giving us a runway of around 18 months.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was very effective, with several syncs every week. Humbleteam works quickly and efficiently, with designers always available and communication clear and open.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their vision of the product concept and the ability to quickly adapt to the market needs with lots of data outputs and an interactive interface. (Initially, we had a B2C product, which transformed to B2B in the process.) We also loved the friendly and open-minded culture.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Throughout the project we’ve worked with many different designers from Humbleteam. All of them have been excellent, but we would probably have preferred having one or two of them assigned long term.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the CMO at Boost Surfing. Boost Surfing is the creator of the first electric fin for surfboards. This device is for anyone interested in surfing or paddle boarding, from beginners to avid surfers, who don’t get the chance to surf enough to build out the muscle power and stamina needed to constantly paddle, to experienced surfers who want to surf longer and catch more waves. Boost Surfing was conceived by a team of passionate surfers with more than 20 years of combined entrepreneurial and technology experience, as well as eight successful crowdfunding campaigns.

For what projects/services did your company hire Humbleteam?

We needed to create a new website for our product, which needed to be super visual, mobile-first oriented, and self-explanatory since we created an entirely new device and were at the crowdfunding phase of production.

What were your goals for this project?

Like any other e-commerce, we rely on paid marketing, so high-converting design and user-friendly interface were our ultimate goals.

SOLUTION

How did you select Humbleteam?

We had a recommendation from another US-based startup who had a positive experience in working with HumbleTeam.

Describe the project in detail.

We had a few setup calls first where we articulated priorities and developed a workflow. Humbleteam helped us to validate assumptions and better understand the “why” behind many of our customers’ decisions to purchase and use our device. We had a few customers interview and online research that highlighted the main questions that potential customers have. Then Humbleteam had developed a draft design that we kept adjusting until both sides were happy with. Also, they created a few options of design for the A/B test that could have an impact on the website conversion rate.

What was the team composition?

Sergey Krasotin was our design director and helped a lot with the communication between our team and Humbleteam also represented by Ilya, a lead designer, and Anatoliy, art director.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We've just started to experiment with the new design, so it's still a work in progress.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had a rather gentle pace of work, so workflow was pretty effective.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I love the fact that Humbleteam has a lot of experience with high-converting e-commerce websites and also was into the nuances of crowdfunded projects. It helped to filter the hypothesis list and make the message stronger. Also, they are great with the visual aspect: their design is trendy and clean.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We're really happy with how this collaboration has ended up. I'm convinced there's always room for improvement, but for now, I can't come up with something particular.

We chose Humbleteam due to the amount of effort they put in to us before we even started working with them. We received multiple videos and design ideas prior to starting which made us feel like they would put the work in.

The workflow seemed pretty effective. Daily meetings were good to ensure we were on the same page. The trello didn't really get used, but that could be on our end too.

Their initial sales process. They put a ton of effort into getting us to go with them.

I think the speed of the work could be improved a bit. Sometimes it felt like day to day changes were slightly slower.

They are participating in our ongoing meetings, and delivering the product design aspects of the app - from participating in market research, user interviews and tests, to wire-framing and graphical design.

There are always 1 or 2 designers working with us. Along the different life stages of the app, we were provided with different levels of support from other professional people from HumbleTeam.

The app itself is live and used by tens of thousands of users. New features and designs are being served to them constantly as the company grows.

Very effective. As I said above, the designers designated to us are part of us, and we have the benefit of getting more help if needed.

Their high level of quality work and professionalism was impressive.

Humble team was hired to create new, more intuitive and appealing design of whole platform.

The greatest challenge we struggled with, when collaborating with other design agencies in past, was the fact the agency wouldn't spend enough time to understand our product, which influenced the quality of design they provided us with.

But that isn't the case of Humble team, who assigned great team of professionals, who spend sufficient amount of time understanding our product, which enabled them to provide us with designs that not only great looking and intuitive, but do delivery value to out all our customer.

The biggest chalange was, that we needed a team, that will take time to understand our product and be able to unify the design and UX of all features.

What was the team composition?

Primary we were in touch with senior designer Daniel, but in addition to Daniel there were 2 to 3 additional designers working on the proposed solution. Despite, the workload being allocated to 3-4 ppl, the communication was efficient and everyone was aligned.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Once the redesign was deployed, our NPS increased by 35%.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We set up weekly meetings to discuss the tasks that needs to be executed given week & review the proposed design the collaboration , which enabled us to work very efficiently together.

Additionally I greatly appreciate the fact that the whole team is very responsive  and does their best to accommodate our last minute request for additional designs for given week.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was very impressed by the expertise of our senior designer Daniel, when it comes to design & UX. I also greatly appreciate the thoughtfulness of whole team, their attention to detail and the extensive research Humble team provided us with, when discussing all the design challenges we encountered.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Some of junior designers might need to more training when it comes to being client oriented, but that's something that can be tackled easily.

Humbleteam was already engaged in product design projects for our company. We saw they were doing great work there and embarked on projects for marketing as well.

We worked on several projects with the team including: product launch landing pages, website buildout and visual brand refreshes, podcast brand ideation and microsite design.

We were assigned a project lead and design lead, but knew the team had a 3D and animation team behind the scenes as well.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We saw an increase in traffic and lead generation from our product launch.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Extremely. While we were based in the Bay Area / Silicon Valley and the team was in Europe, the team was extremely responsive and met our tight deadlines.

Their range, quality of design, animation capabilities, work effort, and collaborative work styles were all amazing.
