Lily Rincon is a recruiter that worked for my coworker in the past, so we wanted to specifically hire Lily for the work. We ended up loving Hire Ventures so much that we also used sourcing support from another employee there. They always found great candidates for us. Lily is a very experienced senior recruiter. Plus, I loved that we worked with the same team members there and they got to know our very niche business well.

Hire Ventures, Inc.'s culture fits well with us.  They don't try to cookie cutter the project and listened to feedback from us.  There was one job req we had a tough time finding someone for - many applicants, but none would pass the subsequent interviews.  We worked with Lauren to refine the job listing as well as the screening and we ended up with better fitting applicants for what we were looking for.

They ensure Envana stays compliant with Texas labor standards and key federal regulations (FLSA, ADA, EEO, FMLA), and provide support with benefits, record-keeping, and risk management. Hire Ventures also assists with hiring processes, compensation alignment, and overall HR strategy to help Envana operate smoothly and stay prepared for future growth.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Hire Ventures helped us formalize and stabilize our HR operations. We now have clear, compliant onboarding/offboarding processes, updated policies, consistent documentation practices, and structured guidance for employee relations and terminations. Their support reduced our compliance risk, improved internal communication, and created HR workflows that save leadership time and keep us aligned with federal and Texas requirements. Overall, Envana’s HR function is significantly more organized, efficient, and legally sound because of their work.

Shannon’s project management has been excellent. She delivers what we need on time, communicates clearly, and stays proactive in addressing questions or issues as they come up. Our small HR team needed additional arms and legs to accelerate hiring a new sales team for a product expansion. Hire Ventures supported us by providing two recruiters to search and screen candidates (review resumes and conduct first round interviews). They also supported candidate communciations including next steps or dismissals of rejected candidates. Their team is flexible and easy to work with. Most importantly, they found high quality candidates for us to choose from. It was also very helpful that they could plug into our ATS, streamlining candidate management for everyone.

We had a junior HR person in place who decided to leave the business for another opportunity. It required us to find an interim HR leader who could keep the trains on track and be a resource for our employees while we found a permanent VP of Talent in a relatively short period of time.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We evaluated multiple providers for this project. We evaluated several criteria - specifically experience with similar projects, resources that they could bring to bear, their overall outlook on talent and ways they would approach an interim situation in a way to ensure employees felt supported. Hire Ventures had the most comprehensive and robust offering of the companies we evaluated.

Teresa joined us as our interim head of HR to own all things talent and benefit related. She also helped us with recruiting for several critical engineering roles across the business.

There were three resources. Teresa as the interim head of HR and then two recruiting coordinators who helped us fill several critical roles in a short amount of time.

She came in at a critical time as we were going through Benefits re-enrollment, performance reviews, creating new HR/Finance policies, and hiring across the business. Her partnership with our Head of Finance improved many of our backend HR/Finance processes dramatically and her recruiting team helped improve our recruiting operations and enabled us to hire talent directly.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Incredibly effective. We had a dashboard for recruiting pipeline and candidates that ensured we always had visibility into candidates and next steps. On the Interim head of HR front, Teresa was proactive with setting up time with the leaders on our executive team as well as key employees as needed.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were impressed with their ability to juggle both recruitment and HR functions simultaneously. There were a lot of different constituents (hiring managers, employees, executives) and their ability to effectively connect with and manage those relationships and expectations was impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think the Hire Ventures team wanted to make sure not to step on any toes, especially since they were coming in an interim HR capacity. Once they realized I meant it when I said I wanted them to act like full-time employees, they settled into being more assertive and confident in interacting with the team. My only feedback would be to be comfortable with being the expert earlier and ask for forgiveness rather than permission!
