Based on the initial designs for the homepage, product page, and category page, we commissioned Habitat Creative Ltd. to take our online shop to the next level. The first step was to update the system to the latest Shopware version. Following this, the agency developed a detailed roadmap outlining the most effective way to implement the new design.

A key decision was to separate the backend from the frontend and establish communication through an API. This allowed us to work with Next.js, resulting in a significant increase in page speed. The design elements were then styled and used as the foundation for additional components such as the shopping cart, contact form, newsletter sign-up, order confirmation, and shipping updates.

In addition, a product comparison feature was conceptualized and implemented, and trust widgets like Trustpilot were newly integrated. During the checkout process, informative messages about shipping costs and the remaining amount required for free shipping were added.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project has led to a complete transformation of our online shop, both technically and visually. The platform is now fully modernized, stable, and aligned with current usability and performance standards. Since the relaunch, bounce rates have dropped significantly, and we have seen a noticeable increase in completed purchases.

Customer feedback has been highly positive, emphasizing the improved clarity, faster performance, and overall better user experience. Even competitors have acknowledged the progress we have made, and our shop now clearly stands out within the market.

I hardly recognize our shop anymore – and that’s a good thing. In the past, our store was outdated, lacked a mobile-first approach, and offered an unclear user journey. Today, it performs flawlessly across all devices with:

Key product features presented at a glance, and
A streamlined layout free from unnecessary elements.
Overall, the project has strengthened our digital presence, improved conversion performance, and enhanced both customer trust and brand perception.

We had set an ambitious timeline of 8–12 weeks for the entire project. In the end, the delivery was closer to 12 weeks, but everything was completed fully within the planned timeframe. Toward the end of the project, the agency even put in extra hours to ensure on-time delivery — despite the fact that the slight delay was caused by additional feature requests from our side. This level of commitment was exceptional and demonstrated their strong dedication to the project’s success.

Throughout the entire process, Habitat Creative maintained excellent communication. They were always easy to reach and held weekly update meetings to keep us informed about the project’s progress. This consistent coordination allowed us to prepare content on time, test interim results effectively, and stay aligned at every stage.

We are simply grateful for the collaboration and very pleased with the results. Choosing to work with an agency outside of Germany was a big step for us, but it proved to be absolutely the right decision. The mere fact that we work together for so many years in first place. The increase in the conversion rates and the fact that we can deliver twice for 52 weeks every year without repeating is the best demonstration for success and progress combined I can imagine!
