Our pieces are designed with nature in mind and made with Earth's most sustainable materials and processes. We collaborate with the best Artisan makers in Portugal to create our products. Our creation process is Earth-conscious as our root material. From cork yoga mats, to post-consumer ceramics to recycled textiles, our materials pass through many hands, processes and generations before reaching your home.

We just completed our website www.rituil.com launch with www.GoodCommerce.ca and we could not be more grateful and thrilled with how it turned out! Gabby and team are extremely thoughtful, intentional, and strategic partners during the entire process to make this a success from day 1 — from the first meeting to pushing the go-live button they were there every step of the way. 
The team is meticulous with documentation and understanding your brands vision and staying true and consistent with your brand from start to finish. We spoke with several agencies, but James and I knew in the first 20 minutes on an intake call with Gabby that we trusted them implicitly. As Founders, it is rare to come across people on the journey that care as much about your business core values and success as you do, Good Commerce not only helped shape our designs, but also our brand! The design, copy , project management and development team worked beautifully in concert and by the end of the project we didn’t just have a long term partner for road map projects and marketing/adverting we had friends. We built an amazing relationship of trust and open communication of sharing ideas, some we disagreed on, but worked perfectly together to find common ground . Gabby has built a truly incredible and cohesive team that acted as one with us to deliver our dream website.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO and director of Blackbird Security. We provide security solutions to retailers, construction companies, and property management companies in Canada, across British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Ontario.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Good Commerce?

We started working with them when we were a smaller company and didn’t have much of an online presence. We were basically a startup with a one-page website and didn’t have a lot of experience with online platforms.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Good Commerce developed our online presence, from our website to social media and branding. They’re running campaigns on Google, Facebook, and Instagram, and monitor all our analytics. They determine what is and isn’t working and focus their energy on what’s been shown to work. A lot of our inquiries come from Google searches, but social media has been effective as well. We share news and promotions as well as run ads.

The end goal of their efforts is for prospective clients to either call or inquire about us online. Our sales and customer service team takes it from there. So, the metric we’re using for Good Commerce is the number of inquiries produced in a month and how large the prospective clients are.

What is the team composition?

I worked only with Gabby (Founder & Managing Director) in the beginning when she was starting the company herself. That mirrored us, so our two companies went hand in hand.

Gabby was very hands-on in the beginning, and there were 1–2 other members involved. We’ve both grown exponentially since then, which is fantastic to see. We’re dealing with an account manager now, and Gabby is working behind the scenes. She’s remained accessible, and I like having an account manager that’s designated to us.

How much have you invested with them?

To date, we’ve spent around $126,000 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Good Commerce three years ago, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re growing, and Good Commerce has been instrumental in this. With their help, we’ve gone from being a startup to a mid-sized, almost national company with very healthy revenue. They’ve presented a clear picture of who our company is and what we do.

We’re increasing our spend with them now, on online media and branding. We’re definitely seeing that ROI. The more services they provide, the better we are, both online and in terms of branding. We’ve gone from having 50 contracts two and a half years ago to over 400 now, across all Canadian provinces. A lot of those clients are big brands we hear about every day. 

How did Good Commerce perform from a project management standpoint?

One thing that separates us from other companies is our response time. The majority of our clients have my personal cell number and those of my managers, COO, and VPs, and we’re responsive. If someone calls us, we’ll pick up.That philosophy resonates with a lot of our clients, and I expect the same level of service from our vendors.

Gabby is very reachable and so is our account manager. We can call, message, or email them. They’re there and respond, if not within a couple of hours, then definitely within the 12-hour mark. We move fast, think fast, and things develop unexpectedly at times. If we get in touch with Good Commerce, they’re on it. We have weekly meetings with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re developing our brand and communicating online on our behalf, and they’re very good at it. If I was to point out a single thing, it’d be that they gear our marketing based on our feedback and goals. They give us real advice and action plans for those.

I have ideas sometimes, but I’m not an expert in this field. If I bring something to them, they’ll tell me if my idea or way of going about it is wrong. They give me real feedback based on their experience. If I entrust them with my goal, they’ll get me there. They just take care of it, and I really like that. Their pricing point is fantastic, too; it definitely beats the competition.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could offer supplementary services. Some companies struggle with the admin side of things on getting certain tasks done, and we’d like to get that HR component as part of Good Commerce’s services. This could include supporting our HR head or how phones are answered by our front desk staff (scripting for what to say, how to transfer calls, etc.).

I know Gabby has been talking about this, and I think this additional service would resonate with her customers.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients should engage them like they’re a part of the team. They understand that the more successful the client is, the more successful they are as a company, so they’re invested in the client’s success. I’ve referred Good Commerce to others, and the one piece of advice I gave was to be engaging.

They’re reachable, and I know they have weekly meetings to discuss all their clients and bounce ideas off one another, but they need information from us in order to create those ideas.

Businesses evolve, and our needs from two months ago may not be our needs currently. That communication is very important to have. No matter how small or large an idea is, my advice is to call Gabby and tell her about it. They’re always available and receptive to feedback.
