BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the President of Blue Ridge Community College in western North Carolina. We serve two counties.

For what projects/services did your company hire Formation PR + Brand, and what were your goals?

Each year we create an Annual Report that goes out to the community, legislators, donors and partners. We hired Formation to create our most recent annual report and they did a high quality, affordable job for us.

How did you select this vendor?

We have partnered with Formation for many years and they continue to provide high-quality marketing, communication and branding services to our institution.

Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.

We begin the process with a "review" of the previous years successes. The college team meets with the Formation team to vet the direction we want to go with the content. Then we begin laying out who is going to do what in terms of creating the articles and photography. The next step was to vet the design of the cover and then we get to look at a mock up before moving forward.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We work with the project manager and the creative director of the company. Then we also have our accounts manager who ensures that they are constantly communicating with us.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our colleagues across the state consistently compliment all of our materials and social media because of the work that is done by Formation.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

There are several touch points throughout the process of creation. In the case of the Annual Report they gave us three different looks of which to choose from for the cover. We assisted with the creation of the articles and they do the layout. Throughout the process we can see the progress and the "look" of our publication.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their commitment to continued learning about what we do and who we serve. They always manage to create materials that are outstanding, always look different and find new ways to reach our market through different delivery methods.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I am happy with the Annual Report, and I don't think I would have done anything differently.
