They designed a python based solution that needed to read different data streams. The data streams needed to be compared for discrepancies and anomalies. When an anomaly was detected, the software needed to deliver an alert to the desktop.

There were two people assigned to my project. a project manager and a python developer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

My assigned team was very proactive in communicating with our data provider, as well as keeping me in the loop. There were numerous workarounds and creative solutions that had to be designed, tested and deployed. Even with all of the unforeseen obstacles that come with bolting on a custom module on someone else's code, the project came in on time and a little under budget.

We had excellent communication. Timelines were clearly laid out. Milestones met.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their open and clear communication and accurate assessment of costs were impressive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The team was very upfront about how much time they could devote to my project. They stayed true to the timeline laid out at commencement.

We hired them for UI/UX design.

What was the scope of their involvement?

GogoApps is helping us design UI/UX for an Arrow Markets app. We had some early designs and wireframes for the app. The team organized a set of meetings focused on workshopping the nature of the project and the feel and tone. Then, they helped us decide on a visual language, brand identity, and logo.

Once we finished the initial branding and design work, they helped us develop the landing page and a transactional app. The team has helped us build two modules for options trading and liquidity provision on the app, which are part of a crypto application. GogoApps has also helped us build some animations and illustrations for the app and social media to explain the technical concepts and describe the architecture of this system. Most of their work is done on Figma.

We work with two team members from GogoApps; a product designer who helps with UI and an illustrator who helps us with the animations.

We found them through a designer profile that we liked on Dribbble, and then we looked up their reviews on Clutch.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in July 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Although the app is in testing mode and hasn't been launched, early users have enjoyed the design. Initial feedback tells us the app is very unique compared to the rest of the market. We're very focused on usability, and our users really appreciate the focus and great design in a space where information is difficult to explain and interpret. Our users also resonate with the polished feel of the website, the app, the brand, and the illustrations. GogoApps' work has also helped with our brand identity.

How did GogoApps perform from a project management standpoint?

They're very flexible in terms of budget. Based on the amount of work, they've generously offered to scale the team up or down based on the budget, and we've requested various changes in the team composition.

We use Discord and Google Meet to communicate, and they're also very flexible regarding communication platforms. We've used ClickUp, and we're now considering using Linear together.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I'm impressed by GogoApps' ability to deliver striking and polished visual designs in a space that's hard to crack: cryptocurrency and fintech.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could be more flexible on time zones. Coordinating meeting times that work for everyone is a bit difficult when working with a distributed team. 

Any advice for potential customers?

If you're building a financial app with complex information for users in various market segments, GogoApps is amazing. They can deliver designs that focus on usability and have a polished, premium feel.

I’m the director of design for an early-stage startup in the clean energy space.

What challenge were you trying to address with GogoApps?

I joined our company in December 2021. Prior to that, we didn’t have any in-house designers, so GogoApps was handling all of our design work.

What was the scope of their involvement?

GogoApps mainly handles UI/UX design work for us using Figma. They work on our website, which is an energy platform where users can switch their energy plans. It also has data about people’s energy usage. 

The team has also worked on some initiatives we’ve started but decided not to pursue. For one, they’ve provided the design for an app that previously worked on but canceled. Moreover, their resources also provide illustrations for our website. They’ve also done some development work for us, but we’ve eventually hired a separate development team.

What is the team composition?

We’ve been working with one full-time designer and a product manager on a daily basis. We also have meetings with their head of design. They also provide additional help that we may need. If there’s more work than usual or when we need someone with a different specialty, they provide more resources to us.  

How did you come to work with GogoApps?

They were already working with the company when I joined it.

We’ve invested between $50,000–$200,000. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our group started working with GogoApps in September 2017. We’re still engaged with them, although we’ll be ramping down the engagement starting next month. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

GogoApps has provided so much more designs than what we need on the website, and that’s good. They’ve also been responsive and flexible in giving us multiple variations of any designs they do. As a result, whenever I ask for any design, I get various options. 

Moreover, regardless of the amount of direction they get from us, GogoApps still does a great job of interpreting our instructions and providing designs that make sense. Simply put, they produce high-quality designs. 

How did GogoApps perform from a project management standpoint?

In terms of meeting deadlines, GogoApps is quite fast. I work with their designer to make sure that our deadlines make sense by asking them when they can finish a certain deliverable. If we truly need something by a certain date, I tell them that. In any case, everything is done on time. We use Jira to manage the project, while we communicate via Slack. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

GogoApps is highly responsive and flexible. I trust them since they’re reliable; if I need something, I know they’ll do it — and it will be done well. Even when we have non-standard requests, they figure out ways to help us. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their designer is great in terms of UI design, but he’s weaker when it comes to UX designs.  They do have other UX designers, but it’s a little inconvenient to have one designer for UI and a different designer for the UX. I can do UX designs myself, but I’m also busy since I’m our group’s in-house designer. As a result, I sometimes wish that the designer assigned to us has better skills. 

To be fair, this problem is specific to small teams like ours; we don’t have a lot of resources. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear about what you need. That way, you can avoid back-and-forth conversations that take more time. While it’s good that GogoApps can ask any follow-up questions when something’s not clear, being clear about your expectations in the first place will save everybody’s time. This advice applies to all situations.

The contractor was responsible for developing a segment of B2B sales management software. The purpose of creating such software is to improve the work of the controlling and sales department, data archiving and automation of processes related to the circulation of documents.

The main factor influencing the selection of the contractor was the personal recommendation. We also paid attention to the experience in implementing similar projects. Positive opinions on industry portals were a great help in choosing this company

The first contact we made was with a representative of the sales department. After getting acquainted with the assumptions of the project, we had a meeting with a technical representative of the company. An offer was prepared in the next few days. It mainly involved backend work, but a frontned specialist and designer was also involved. The technologies used to create the software are primarily Golang and React.

When it comes to design, we worked on Figma. We have agreed that meetings between the contractor and us will take place: at the beginning - every three days; at a later stage in weekly sprints. Everything went smoothly

From the contractor side, 7 people were involved, including the sales department, backend developers, frontend developer, designer, project manager and QA.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The software is already used by one of our company's divisions and so far we have only received positive feedback. Employees working on the software appreciate its ease of use, intuitiveness and functionality. After the trial period in one of the branches, we plan to implement the system in all our branches.

We communicated through tools such as meets, zoom, slack and we even managed to have two face-to-face meetings. Due to the lack of language barriers, the same time zone and understanding of the topic, communication was extremely smooth. After discussions with the representative of the sales department, at the stage of refining the terms of the contract, the contact was transferred to the delivery manager.

We had concrete and very productive talks. Their quick implementation and transparency of cooperation made the greatest impression on us

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

At the very beginning of our cooperation, we spent a lot of time fine-tuning the terms of the contract, but this cannot be seen as part of an improvement. During the development of the project, it turned out that the contract was exemplary and contained all the elements that allowed us to expand the team.

At times, stubbornness and a tough stance were a bit annoying but in the end we realized that it made sense due to GogoApps experience in running such projects

I commissioned the creation of an application for collecting the photos taken and placing them on the map of the trip route. You can add a comment to each photo wchich will be displayed later (historical information, date and time of the visit, weather on the day of the visit etc.). Tourists visitng city after returning from the trip can recreate the route on wchich they visited the city. The additional information is intended to help you gather pleasent memories of Your journey.

I did a diligent research of Warsaw software houses and after getting familiar with the previous projects they were dealing with I chose GogoApps. I am an advocate of Face To Face meetings so I wanted a local partner.

The main advantage of the new system is its functionality, intuitiveness and ease of use. This saves time and facilitates internal document circulation processes.

The contractor was quick and easy to adapt to our work style. The delivery of the individual stages of the project took place in two-week sprints.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I do not have much experience in working with SH, so I do not know what can be unique and what is standard. Communication, positive energy, professionalism, everything was great!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

If I had to stick to something, I would say that the payment terms differed from those adopted in our company, which resulted in a slight accounting confusion. It was a detail, nothing to complain about. Everything was great!
