I'm an associate professor at the University of Toronto.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Fire Burns Up?

We needed help in developing a website that will serve as an interactive space that allowed people to send postcards from their future selves.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Fire Burns Up developed and designed a mobile-friendly website that allowed users to enter information on postcards and email it to themselves. We relied on their designs and creativity, and their team figured out how to overcome our technical challenges. They had a vision of how to realize the project and they implemented it.

The site is already completed, but we are still holding back its launch until we get the approval of our advisory committee.

What is the team composition?

We worked directly with one teammate, and there were other teammates involved but we didn’t communicate with them.

How did you come to work with Fire Burns Up?

We placed out an RFP and they responded. Their proposal was the most creative, in-depth, and technologically proficient that we received. Their creativity and understanding of the digital space exceeded other vendors by a huge margin, and that's why we chose Fire Burns Up. 

How much have you invested with them?

We had spent $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement lasted from December 2020–March 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We mostly sat in our weekly meetings praising Fire Burns Up’s work. They met all our goals for this project. It's a tremendously creative piece of work, and I'm excited to get it into the market. They were helpful at every step of the way, and they pushed us to improve in terms of functionality and attention to detail.

How did Fire Burns Up perform from a project management standpoint?

Fire Burns Up delivered the website on time and on budget. They accommodated our requests, and they were very professional. They had an excellent understanding of the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their creativity is very impressive. They go above and beyond in doing their tasks, and they're able to incorporate different technological and aesthetic elements in their design. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

They should take advantage of Fire Burns Up’s skills and creativity and allow their team to be more involved with the initiation and conceptualization process. I think they have a range of good ideas of what's possible — leveraging their skills would be the most important thing.
