We were trying to highlight the unique value proposition that WorkBistro solves for and our goals were to create a branded video that tells that story

How did you select this vendor?

Tom and I have a personal relationship from college

We collaborated on a commercial script, staffing the project, and shooting the video. The final deliverable was a 3 minute video and a media room of various other assets we can utilize.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Tom ran point on everything!

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We just launched the video and have received a lot of positive feedback from our community. This video will serve as quality content we can use across our website and social media accounts for months to come.

Overall the project was managed well and things were done with a high degree of quality and punctualityy

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to build a narrative and execute a creative vision despite never seeing my space is impressive, Tom is in Philly, the crew was in LA, and the space is in SF so it was very impressive how it all came together.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think it would be great if FF branded could have different packages to choose from that could generate a few different styles/durations of videos from one shoot (i.e. utilize one script and chop it up 3-4 different ways) and have a brand set of deliverables in various lengths that we can use for different media (rather than having to do it ourselves on the backend)

I am the senior director of government and regulatory affairs at Comcast.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with FF Branded?

We were working on a community investment project with a local Philadelphia foundation and high school to capture interviews of various conflicts, potentially dating back to the Korean War. We were focused on the wars in Vietnam, The Persian Gulf, and Afghanistan, and we wanted to capture stories from local veterans about their service and why our country was important to them, along with some of the challenges they’ve faced. 

We needed to bring in a professional, sharp video production company to bridge the gap between building content and publicizing that content. We needed a company that would also prioritize student interaction in the content and video production portions of the project because we wanted the students to have a very hands-on experience.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

FF Branded kicked off the project by leading a series of meetings that discussed what the production and schedule would look like, and the finer details of producing this specialized content. We discussed where we would shoot and the set itself, B-roll footage, and organized the different collaborative expertise that would help us accomplish our goal. 

There were two pieces to the project, the first of which was a long-form version of the film.

We captured 6–7 interviews total, and FF Branded compiled the content into a seamless video and film that showed students interviewing the veterans, which we thought was critical.

For the second piece of the project, the team at FF Branded captured and transitioned all of the content into bite-sized versions that created effective public service announcements and served as a call to action.

They took care of everything from editing and video production, to on-site management of the shoot. They also assisted with drafting scripts and questions for our interviewees. They provided all on-site staff and equipment. 

What is the team composition?

We had roughly 6–8 team members working on the project from FF Branded. Tom (Founder, Producer) led a  team of associate producers, grips, photographers, and videographers. 

How did you come to work with FF Branded?

We had an existing relationship with FF Branded because Comcast had worked with them before and had been impressed with their work. The foundation we were working with had also heard of them and had a previous connection with the company. In addition to these connections, one of the founders of the whole project had seen work FF Branded had produced, and thought they would be a great partner on this project. 

Between the connections that everyone had to FF Branded, and knowing the quality of work they had produced in the past, we were confident that the synergy and collaboration would result in a terrific video. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them between November 2021–June 2022. 

We made the decision not to release the content until Veteran’s Day 2022, so we do not consider the project itself complete, but our work with FF Branded has concluded.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Nothing has aired yet, but we think that it worked very well, and that the end product is incredible. FF Branded provided excellent end-to-end collaboration and coordination of production services. They worked seamlessly with everyone involved on the project. 

An important aspect of the partnership was making sure that the students received hands-on experience, and FF Branded made that happen. The students were engaged in the video production work and content, and they were able to get experience under the leadership of FF Branded. 

How did FF Branded perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re well organized, communicative, and don’t miss a beat on deliverables. The project was delivered on time and within budget. FF Branded did a great job of collaborating and coordinating with everyone on the project. 

The primary tools we used during the process were Google Meet and Microsoft Teams. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team was always courteous, and they were laser-focused on the goal of producing a terrific film and engaging the students. They have the ability to think outside of the box, and they were flexible and nimble, which was important on a project like this. 

They also had local community connections, and were very familiar with the community. Even though they had larger projects, they still made a point to support the community. It was critical to us that they had local connections and that they could get the job done, and they certainly did.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

There isn’t anything that they could have improved on. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

All the partners within the project need to be engaged. Everyone within this project was incredibly engaged and we believe that enabled FF Branded to give us beautifully produced, impactful content.

I am the Director of the Center for Student Leadership a Catholic school.

Our school partnered with the Travis Manion Foundation and Comcast to create a video project to be aired across Comcast Networks to highlight and honor veterans.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were connected to this vendor through a mutual contact and the decision was quick after seeing samples of their work.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

We started with multiple Zoom calls to storyboard and write the script. Tom also wanted to get the names of all the interviewees so he could research them and create meaningful questions. We did a two-day, all-day video shoot at school consisting of 12 students and 4 interviewees. FF Branded's crew were the most professional crew I have ever worked with. They supported our students, provided help where needed and made the shoot feel like true production set.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I worked directly with Tom and he was incredibly proactive in his communication. His responses were always within 30 minutes.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were unsure how the results would come across because our intent was to have a more serious project to truly highlight what these veterans went through. The film crew did numerous takes to have a plethora of content and it was perfectly put together.

I'm not tech savvy enough to know what tools were used, but I do know that the minute we were done filming, Tom downloaded all the content to his computer and started editing immediately.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They made us feel like we were in the most professional production set.

Not at all!

To make a film about why I started Solcosm with the intent to share in social media and our website.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Tom is a good friend of mine and I’ve known the film fund for many years.

First we talked about the vision, then Tom wrote a script, then I approved it after some changes. Next we made the movie in just under a day. Lastly he edited the video and I approved it.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I worked with Tom and his crew. They were all fantastic.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Tom was amazing to work with the entire project. From listening to my story and the vision of the company, to conveying that vision with a well written script, to the execution of the video itself, I was impressed the entire time. I can't wait to get the video out to my customers and community!

Simple and sweet. Very communicative.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their unique care, attention, and expertise were outstanding!

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

While the end product was amazing, the color grading could have used some improvement. That being said we were on a low budget so Tom did it himself which saves us a lot.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I have known Tom for almost a decade and always admired the delivery and tone of his work. I knew I could rely on him to capture my approach to helping people buy cars.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

After a phone interview about my business, Tom put together a script, we reviewed and made some edits together, he planned the shoot, we shot several takes at two different locations, and several weeks late he delivered a branded media package with multiple length advertisements and photos and clips from the shoot.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I worked primarily with Tom but he brought in a shooter and an actor to film

We have grown in our following and I have drawn in new customers on a regular basis

It was easy to communicate via phone, text and email directly with Tom

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The content was well written, filmed, and acted. Their process was very easy.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There was good back-and-forth over the script, but there was minimal consultation on the advertisements. I requested edits after receiving the final branded package. This could have been handled in the development stages.
