I’m the co-founder of a product development studio.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Every Interaction?

At the time we lacked internal resources who could work on one of our websites. We already had a strategy in place that we’d developed in-house, but we needed people to work on the site’s design. As a result, we approached Every Interaction for UX and web design services.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to vastly improve the look and feel of the site while also increasing leads.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We found them online along with other similar suppliers. Their site stood out in terms of their case studies and positioning, so we reached out to them. After talking with a couple of shortlisted agencies, we received proposals. Ultimately, we were impressed by Every Interaction’s proposal the most.

Describe the project in detail.

They reviewed our wireframes before putting a visual layer on top of them. They delivered design assets that were ready for production.

What was the team composition?

Because they were a small agency, we were able to work closely with the founders as well as the rest of the team. This helped to establish good lines of communication with the developers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Many of our peers and internal team praised their designs, and we’ve seen an uptake in site-generated leads. Our new clients have also commented on how good the site looks.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

There was strong collaboration between our teams. In terms of communication, we were closely involved, giving feedback and iterating what was put together. The team documented all key dates and met the deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Overall, they’re friendly people to work with. They really connected with us and understood what we were trying to do. We had plenty of ideas which they polished, adding that extra sparkle.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder of a UK-based startup that is a property investment platform, enabling investments in UK property starting from a thousand pounds.

What challenges were you trying to address with Every Interaction?

We needed help designing and developing our website, in addition to building out its e-commerce functions.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We needed to design the website from scratch, so we started collaborating by creating a site blueprint. They helped develop the initial site design by assisting us in identifying and structuring the type, content, and look of each web page that would optimize UX.

Next, we collaborated on the project’s development phase. They handled project management along with website troubleshooting, and they integrated the site with the third party organizations used to operate it. Our website operates like an e-commerce site, where users have an account, and they can read about and purchase specific investments.

They advised us on minor SEO recommendations and logo adaptations, making our logo visually appealing online. They also used their illustration capabilities to add website images based on my concept designs and assisted us with the site as needed.

What is the team composition?

Before the official start of our collaboration, I spoke with Jon [Founder, Every Interaction] and Neil [Founder, Every Interaction]. Jon and his team worked with me throughout the project.

How did you come to work with Every Interaction?

We started gauging various companies on price, capability, and competency. We spoke to a couple of providers, but we wanted to further explore London’s tech scene. Every Interaction was referred to me by one of our third-party providers. The clean, balanced style of their previous work resonated with me, and they showed enthusiasm for what we were trying to achieve, which ultimately led us to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent under £100,000 [$134,118].

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in February 2017, and we’re nearing the end of our collaboration as they work to tweak the site and resolve issues post-launch.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We've had a lot of positive feedback about the look and feel of the site. Many people have noted that the site looks professional and is easy to use, despite our restrictive budget.

How did Every Interaction perform from a project management standpoint?

Although I would have preferred launching our site sooner, their team worked tirelessly on our project and we’ve gotten our money’s worth. Their account management was great. They were highly responsive, especially in the months before our site launch when we were making changes daily. They would make requested changes within the hour, and they presented quality work and a good design process. Their adaptive and collaborative work style established the sense that we were one team, and their expertise throughout website development was beneficial to us.  

We had weekly calls to go over goals, progress, and any larger issues we needed to resolve. We used email for regular communication and suggestions, and toward the latter stages of this project, we’ve used Trello to resolve issues and make smaller changes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re extremely responsive, and make you feel like you’re their number one client. Their high-quality and up-to-date designs are also notable.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could have finished the project faster by researching what it fully entailed before beginning development. Thoroughly identifying and understanding the third party organizations needed may have helped. Speeding up project completion would be beneficial for them because it would likely increase their revenues. However, I will say that this was a learning process for both of us.  Now that they’ve been exposed to more third-party providers and to the integration process for these pieces of software, it’s likely that they’ll achieve faster results for another client.

Spend time before starting a project to understand the technical implications of integration work since the elements you need to integrate may vary.

Please describe your organization.

MyDrive Solutions is a startup that collects information from black boxes in cars on their drivers. Then, we create driver profiles that benefit insurance companies by providing information on the riskiness of individual drivers.

What is your position?

I'm the marketing manager.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with Every Interaction?

We first looked at Every Interaction because we wanted to redesign our smartphone app. Before that, we did all of our mobile development outside of the company and were not happy with the work that was being done. We wanted to bring the development in-house, but needed a design agency to help us do so.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

Before July 2015, MyDrive was an independent startup, and we wanted to rebrand to become more modern. Every Interaction started with redesigning our logo, colors, and branding guidelines. After that, they redid our entire app including the design and all of the UX/UI [user experience/user interface].

We were so happy with the work that they did on the app that we asked them to redesign our website. The website that we had at the time was outdated and not responsive on mobile devices. They did that redesign at the end of 2015 and launched it in February 2016.

How did you come to work with Every Interaction?

The previous marketing manager had found them before I began working. We are based in central London and they are close by, so we got to meet face to face and discuss our requirements. It was nice to have them local.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

We spent £10,000 to £50,000 [approximately $14,000 to $71,000] total, including the app as well.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Every Interaction over a year ago, but we don't have anything with them at the moment. We use them if we want to add features to our app or change the design to better suit our clients.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Our app is basically a demo app that we use to sell to insurance companies. We have been acquired by Generali Insurance, so we use the app to show them what we can do for them.

Our website has been very successful. We launched in February and had about a 75 percent increase in traffic compared to our previous website. Again, we are only promoting it internally because we are a B2B2C [business-to-business-to-consumer] company, but now we are happy to promote it and don't feel bad about it. We also wanted to redo our website because we recruit many software engineers, and we feel that it's important to showcase yourself properly. We have grown from 13 to 36 in the past year, so as a recruitment tool, the site has been very useful.

How did Every Interaction perform from a project management standpoint?

We were happy with them. We had regular meetings at every phase and because they were close by, we could meet either at our office or at theirs. Every time I sent them an email, I'd get a response within an hour or two. We're a small company and we had a small budget, but we felt like Every Interaction really put us first. Although they had other clients, we felt like they were taking our project seriously. They also met all the launch dates for the app and the website, which was great.

What distinguishes Every Interaction from other providers?

The most important thing for us is to respect deadlines. I worked with another agency previously and that was a big issue for them. Every Interaction was very professional in that aspect.

Is there anything Every Interaction could have improved or done differently?

No. I don't have anything that comes to mind.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

We are a family farm estate in southern Portugal. We serve a number of purposes, among which are the production of wine and olive oil, organic farming, hospitality services, and residential development. We present ourselves with many hats, in a manner of speaking.

What is your position?

I am the lead developer and owner of the estate.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with Every Interaction?

The challenge was figuring out how we could tell our narrative through one coherent website. Our estate has been producing sustainable agriculture and living through a period of over 200 years, during which it has been owned by 8 generations in my family. This project reflects our history, but more than that, it reflects my personal work of 14 years in renovating the estate and turning it into a project suitable for the 21st century.

There is a sense of community which comes forward through the way in which we experience things, connect with children and friends, and so on. Telling this story through a website requires an approach from multiple angles. In a way, we've set a division of all of these activities concerning the estate, the hotel, the restaurants, winery, residential, and community side of things. What we want to do is to tell how each area of activity works and how it connects to the whole of the project, underlining the fact that the whole estate is bigger than the sum of its parts. This needed to be put into a simple-to-understand narrative. The main goal was making a visitor understand everything I've explained within two minutes of visiting the site.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in greater detail.

Every Interaction has provided a resolve between our content and their layout. The graphics sensitivity offered was impressive.

Every Interaction has developed a custom content management system for the website. It provides full control over content changes, making it very easy for us to work with it. The level of customization we've obtained makes it very easy to work with the layout which we want. Working with third-party elements when offering booking services and so on was a challenge for us. It needed to be made seamless, so we decided to design this backend functionality ourselves, and it has worked out very well.

How did you come to work with Every Interaction?

I knew their principal from a previous project. We met in the UK, and it seemed obvious to me that he combined the best of two worlds: he knew enough about technology, and also had a strategic view and aesthetic sensitivity which worked well in a project such as ours.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

The total cost of the concept and content development was $33,000 [30,000 euros]. We spent another $33,000 on the coding.

What is the status of this engagement?

One of our first steps was to work on a budget and timeline. The project was delivered on time from both sides. We kept realistic expectations which worked out for us. The website has been launched.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

Because Every Interaction took the time in getting to know us, coming to our location and getting an idea of our goal, they became very involved in our project. Working with someone who is interested in knowing the client's business makes a big difference. It made things simpler, and we came to have shared experiences and know each other closely, beyond the work itself. Every Interaction knew what we were trying to do, so we didn't have to teach them specifics about wine making or other typical countryside activities.

What distinguishes Every Interaction from other providers?

Every Interaction has a very good combination of state-of-the art web design and a narrative, journalistic approach. They know how to tell content-driven stories and how to put it into a technologically-advanced website concept. This combination worked for us.

Is there anything Every Interaction could have improved or done differently?

We risked venturing into our own versions of pre-built services. There have been glitches in the work which we sometimes had to find ourselves. All-in-all, it was a good decision, but figuring out why something doesn't work like you'd want it to does require work sometimes.

My company offers online custom research. 

What is your position?

I am the managing director at InsightBee.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with Every Interaction?

We used them to develop our business. It was just a concept at the beginning, and then we hired Every Interaction. They helped up develop the entire user experience and interface of InsightBee and created the brand identity and designed the logo. They designed the visual experience of the site.

SOLUTION

How did you come to work with Every Interaction?

We did a formal assessment of firms across Europe. Our development partners are based in Zurich, so we looked at some firms based in Switzerland and the surrounding area. We looked at some of the London-based firms. We have a large operations center in India, so we also looked at firms in Bangalore.

The overall creativity attracted us to Every Interaction, and one of the examples that they showed us was very interesting. Our interaction with Neil [Gardiner] and John [Darke, directors at Every Interaction] was very productive. We found them to be great people to work with. At the end of the day, you need to go with the gut feeling and select your partners. They came on top of our assessment. They are a small firm, so we got attention from the founders. The examples of work they did for other clients made a big difference when compared to other providers.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in April of last year [2014], and it's an ongoing relationship. InsightBee is expanding, and we have new products. It's a continuing journey.

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

The site has been doing quite well during the past six to eight months since its launch in January [2015]. One of the key feedbacks that we get from our clients is that the experience is very smooth. Much of that is thanks to the contributions of Every Interaction.

How did Every Interaction perform from a project management standpoint?

They've collaborated with us since our inception. I could not imagine them not being there. It's like imagining being born to different parents. It's hard to imagine an InsightBee without Every Interaction because they are central to what we are.

What distinguishes Every Interaction from other providers?

They have a very strong feel for what makes the user journey most compelling and inspiring, so the user experience part of it: whether a button should be there or not – that makes a big difference. If something looks cluttered, will people miss it? Is there a more creative way to give something a flow? They've come up with some very innovative ideas.

Is there anything Every Interaction could have improved or done differently?

We have been quite happy with what they're delivering. So far, I can't find an area of improvement as such. It's been good. I can't complain.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

We’re based in London, and we’ve been around for about three and a half years. Our company started out as a marketing campaign for an executive search business. We created the company as a way to bring lots of prospective clients and prospective candidates all in one room. It was a series of events, invite only, which focused on the top people in tech, whether its startups, established corporations, or investment firms, and they were able to network with each other. These events started off in London, and then they added Stockholm, Berlin, New York, and San Francisco, on an annual basis.

What is your position?

I am the Head of Product for the company. I joined a year and a half ago, and at that point we worked on spinning Hot Topics out of the main company, and we’re now an independent business.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with Every Interaction?

The goal we were working towards was extracting knowledge from all of these exceptional individuals so that they can keep learning from each other, and others who aspire to be like them can learn from them as well. The way the website was built was all around the ease of sharing and consuming content, which all happens to be business type content.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in greater detail.

In addition to the website design and development, I asked them to do our Search Engine Optimization [SEO] as well. They used a guy called Peter Campbell, who is the person they turn to for SEO consultancy.

How did you come to work with Every Interaction?

At some point last summer, I reached out to a few agencies. We selected Every Interaction to help us build our first proper website. We had the equivalent of a blog before their help. I was looking for someone who could guide us on the design and User Experience [UX] side of things and could manage the build for us.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

We spent approximately $70,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in July of 2014, and the website launched in November of 2014. They worked on some additional features in January through May of this year, and our engagement ended in July of 2015. They don’t provide support and maintenance services, so they referred us to another agency at that time.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

To be frank, the website we had before was a blog, so almost every metric has improved.

Traffic now compared to before launch is at least seven times higher. SEO traffic is now about 20 times higher and is still growing massively. Time on the site is slightly higher as well. Everything across the board is better. The biggest increases are on SEO traffic and overall traffic. We also have more subscribers. In the past, if someone wanted to subscribe to our newsletter, they had to contact us manually. Now that we have that option on the site, our subscriber rate has gone up from 10 to 20 subscribers a month to double or triple that amount, and it’s increasing every month.

What distinguishes Every Interaction from other providers?

On the design side of things, everything was great. The owner Jon and his colleagues are very clever. They were able to see things before we did, and they were able to make things clear for our users on the site. We gave them a briefing as to what type of users we have, and they were quickly able to understand what to expect. They helped us simplify things.

We were new to the digital world, and we were very impressed with the way Every Interaction guided us through the process. Jon was quick to point out that there are certain ways we could go about connecting on the site.

Is there anything Every Interaction could have improved or done differently?

One thing that I think they could improve on is pushing back on some of my ideas. I got the feeling that some ideas weren’t actually great and they didn’t seem particularly keen on them, but they still let us proceed with those. I wish they would have stuck to their convictions a little more. Other than that, everything else went really well with the design and the build.

We’re a London-based company, and we’ve been around since year 2000. We have an app that’s a keyword research tool. We get keywords from around the web, put them in a database and offer that database to customers in a subscription format.

What business challenge were you trying to address with Every Interaction?

We needed some design work for our keyword research tool.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in greater detail.

We didn’t have much design or UI experience in-house, so we approached them for help with that. We wanted to improve conversions on the site and just make the whole thing look a lot more professional. They’ve also helped with the marketing and social media, in addition to the design of our website.

How did you come to work with Every Interaction?

Their owners have been our go-to design people for quite some time. I knew them both before they started their company, and I had previously worked with them individually. I had a lot of experience working with them, and I really liked them.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

Over the years, it’s been quite substantial. For the keyword project, it was between £7,500 and £15,000 [U.S. $7,900 - $15,900].

What is the status of this engagement?

I began working with Every Interaction as soon as they started the company three or four years ago. We haven’t worked together in a while since we finished the word tracker job.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any statistics, metrics or other feedback from this engagement?

Every Interaction is an excellent company. They are really great people and are great to work with. We needed to look professional, improve conversions, increase stickiness on the site and improve the connection with people who go to our site. We also wanted to increase the number of people who converted from the free trial to the paid version. They helped us achieve a lot of that.

They have a lot of experience working with apps and websites. The owners complement each other and bring their experience together. Where they excel is in taking feedback. When we needed things done a certain way, they really listened to us. They took what we were saying and came back to us with their own ideas. They’d create new ideas on the back of what we had come up with, so the teamwork was fantastic. They also integrated themselves into our team nicely. They worked with our developers and our marketing team and kind of bridged the gap between them.

What distinguishes Every Interaction from other providers?

The best thing about them is their ability to take feedback and use their knowledge and skills to come up with something completely different. Also, their UI knowledge and their ability to integrate with our team is great.

Is there anything Every Interaction could have improved or done differently?

I loved how they were working as individuals before they created Every Interaction. They would come in and work with us in our office. I don’t know if they do that less now that they’ve formed Every Interaction. It was really helpful when they would come in and be part of the team and part of the office. If they have kept that, that’s great. If not, that would be something to think about.
