I'm the managing director of a company involved in logistics handling, paper manufacturing, and coaling. The software that we’re currently making is for our company only.

We have a lot of internal transactions, and our earlier ERP solution didn’t cater to our needs regarding the kind of automation, technology, and upgrades that it required from time to time. We hired Eternal Web to implement a new, modern ERP.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided Eternal Web with our earlier software so they could create a similar flow, but they built the new solution from scratch. They built it on a newer format of AWS, leaving behind the SQL-based backend of the previous software. The logic of the old version was migrated into the new solution, but there’s no integration or connection between the two. 

Eternal Web is also responsible for the UX and UI design of the application. As for the functionalities of this new software, the solution automates our operations, allowing us to make paperless transactions with our customers and suppliers. 

We are also in talks with them to receive web development services.

What is the team composition?

Two executives at the senior level are involved in the active discussions. At the programmer level, I think there is a team of five people who handle our day-to-day workload.

How did you come to work with Eternal Web Pvt. Ltd.?

We’d been searching for someone like them: local and able to build on the base of our old software. A lot of other agencies in the field were marketing other products to us, like a Microsoft ERP or SAP solution, but we didn't want to go with a standard ERP — we wanted a tailor-made one. Eternal Web was the best provider who actually agreed to deliver a custom solution.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent somewhere between $300,000–$400,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I think we’ve been working together for 16–17 months now, since January 2020. The partnership is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re now in the implementation stage. Everything looked good when we designed it on paper, but now, with live data entry starting, we’ll see if any issues arise. Eternal Web’s team has been very proactive in that, as soon as the error pops up, we make it a point that it is being solved as soon as possible and the new updated version is given to all locations of our offices. That is the best part of working with them.

Additionally, we handle a lot of internal transactions — our coal operations supply coal to our paper manufacturing facility, for example. Our logistics division also handles logistics for our paper manufacturing facilities. This overlap generated a lot of duplicate data, and this new software prevents that. We no longer have to make the same entry in three different divisions.

How did Eternal Web Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

Deadlines were good. There was a variation of about 5%–10%, but then there was a lot of disruption in the economy due to COVID-19. We’ve given them the benefit of the doubt because that isn’t entirely their problem. Apart from that, the timeline has been met almost every time. 

We used a specific tool when we started but I don’t remember the name right now; at the time, it was much easier for us to communicate on the phone. Otherwise, we have a WhatsApp group with my team, their development team, and the senior management. As soon as any issues arise or as soon as we want to further change what they’ve already developed, we post it in that group. That’s how we mainly communicate now. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very proactive. We’ve changed our minds many times throughout the development process. This often happens when we stick to our original plan after they offer an alternative, and then we realize that their option would provide better results after the development is done. They’re always very supportive in those cases, and it hasn’t affected our relationship. They’re very easy-going and patient, always catering to our change requests nicely. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

There's nothing that we think needs to be improved in our design. 

Any advice for potential customers?

Whatever you want to develop, prepare a blueprint beforehand. We didn’t have our plan 100% ready, which is why our timeline was not what we expected. After seeing the work, we understood that it would take longer than we expected.

Working with a sheer number of real estate developers has provided us a clear view of how to assess the best resource from the crowd. With digital landscape we were contacted by many vendors and upon close scrutiny of past projects and background check we selected Eternal.

The prime goal was to build the website as per latest web standards and setup the associated infrastructure. We had meeting with the design team and as soon as the designing was over the website was live in no time. The consecutive smaller projects came as we progressed over and the team did exceptionally well.

What was the team composition?

The composition varies with the project requirement, however a project manager, designer, backend developer, frontend developer and the QA are provided for each project. We mainly communicate through the project manager and he get the job done.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Once the confirmation was given for agency selection, we had our website up and running with all the desired features withing 2 months. Other projects in pipeline were completed within the stipulated time frame as well.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The coordination among both the team was more than what we had asked for. Clear communication among both the team was crucial to the success of projects.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The clear understanding of our organisations objective and valuable inputs for end user's ease of accessibility along with clear communication are some of the impressive features of the agency. Their deep knowledge of web design, development, and IT infrastructure is impressive.

There is always an area of improvement. In our experience what we wanted was delivered to us much within the stipulated time-frame. For us the agency has been a great IT partner and we are more than happy with their services.

To develop a Laravel website, that would collect shippable orders out of Magento and display them to specific suppliers. Once the order had been shipped the supplier would update the website and this would be feed back into Magento.

The goals for this project, were to deliver an E-commerce solution to the client that brought them to the market and allowed them to effectively market and ship their products to their customers. The project used the Magento Enterprise Platform with an additional Laravel website to allow for shipping of orders through selected suppliers.

How did you select this vendor?

I used a freelance site and selected a number of potential companies that I felt could deliver the technology solution, within the budget and timeframe. After talking to Nirav and his team, I was confident they had the skills I needed to deliver my project.

Although Eternal Web were originally hired to develop a Laravel website, that would collect shippable orders out of Magento and display them to specific suppliers. Once the order had been shipped the supplier would update the website and this would be feed back into Magento.

During the project we were let down by another supplier and Eternal Web, stepped in to take over the development of the Magento Theme. Although there was a lot of time pressure to get the platform live, Eternal Web coped with everything that I gave them.

I worked with a team of 2-3 developers and a project manager throughout the project. The number of developers fluctuated during the project depending on the workload and the technical demands of the project.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

My client has had their E-commerce solution online for just over a year and after a slow start has now started to see real growth in the channel and is keen to develop it further.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project Management is arranged through the Teamworks portal, which gives me a clear insight into what the team are working on and a way to communicate with them on individual tasks. I find it extremely effective.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We wanted to build a serverless architecture for a product and directory listing service.

At first, I met up with the team to understand their capabilities and participate in a workshop to drive out the requirements of the project. We worked out what the best technology stack was going to be, and then, through short sprints, developed the product.

Our collaboration began in April 2017, and we’ve since wrapped up as the project is now live.  However, we’re still in contact with Eternal Web Pvt. LTd., as we continue to do some small projects together.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The products they helped us develop were for a very niche market but were quite exceptional because they really helped us think about the market in a different way. We didn’t take a cookie-cutter approach or copy anyone else — the products were unique in the way they approached the market.

Feedback from clients has been phenomenal. It’s very different from anything else they’ve ever seen. Everyone has had a very positive experience using the system. It’s responsive, secure, and works in multiple languages. 

How did Eternal Web Pvt. Ltd. perform from a project management standpoint?

Eternal Web Pvt. Ltd. broke the project down into small sprints, delivering to an overarching plan. We had regular calls with a technical project manager, about two or three times a week. We did workshops through Zoom. As much as possible with an outsourced offshore delivery team, things went well in regards to communication and deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their approachability and desire to focus on our needs as a customer set them apart.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only things we struggled with were at the beginning of the project, and had to do with things like code management. Over time, they’ve improved.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to get a clear description of the requirements for the architecture and infrastructure you’re going to use before you get started on the code. You need to understand exactly what you have before you start delivering it.

Eternal Web Pvt. Ltd. has done the integration for our whole website. The process has been difficult, because our brand has specific requirements for the website. It’s been a difficult process to undertake accurately, but the team has been successful so far.

They are fantastic. Eternal Web Pvt. Ltd. delivered results quickly and accurately, whereas other companies we used before them couldn’t finish the project. When we initially gave them the map, they said it would take nine months, but they were able to complete it within five.

They have their own team project management system which is pretty good. It makes it easy to collaborate with the team, as it provides project requirements and updates in writing.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They never say no. Whenever we give them the challenge, they come up with an answer. Plus, if Eternal Web Pvt. Ltd. offers a solution we’re not happy with, they’ll work to provide another one. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

The team continuously works to improve. For instance, we’re a Magento based website, and they have recommended for us to use Node.js as they have said it is a good system and better than Magento. We are working with them on a test website right now.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Explain everything to them. If you miss something, and they don’t understand it properly, they might deliver something else. You have to give them a few examples and you have to make sure they understand, but if you do so properly, you’ll get what you want.

We were looking for someone to develop our property search platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I initially wanted to launch a simple property portal. However, during the development phase, we made a completely different product and built a search engine for commission-free property in Austria. In Germany, it’s a search engine for all types of properties — not only commission-free — because it’s not challenging anymore to find commission-free properties there.

The solution is a crawler, and we’re crawling the web for properties. It’s a simple property portal where agents and landlords can list their properties for free. Eternal Web Pvt. Ltd. built it on PHP.

Our team has been happy with the final deliverables. We’ve worked on this project together since the beginning, and if I was to start another one, I’d definitely choose them again. I wouldn’t look for another company in this field.

To stick with the example of the golf club, we saw excellent success with that project. The members were pleased with the online booking system as well as the private portal. We’ve seen a definite increase in engagement.

We had a prototype on AWS Amplify and encountered limitations in what we could do with Amplify. We needed someone with AWS experience and front-end experience in React Native to support us with the build.
