We were developing a software tool for reading and needed help with the UI/UX design to provide users with a better interface.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Escalate Ltd helped us with UI/UX design for our tool. Initially, we sent them some concept screens, and I also showed them some screen mock-ups we already had or needed. Then, they turned our input into UI/UX designs for our tool using Figma.

We were happy with Escalate Ltd’s work and received a great outcome.

How did Escalate Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

Escalate Ltd handled project management really well. From the start, they gave us a timeline detailing the different milestones for the project; they were very organized. We communicated very well via email and online calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Escalate Ltd truly put effort into implementing our feedback, resulting in great visual elements. For example, some screens needed adjustments throughout the process. Although they had to fix them once or twice, the end result was very good.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There was nothing Escalate Ltd could have improved on; they did a great job.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I don’t have any particular advice.

I am the marketing and business lead of an early-stage startup which we are building a novel cloud platform based on proximity technology to connect people and streamline the relationship between businesses and customers.

We plan to emerge from the stealth mode in the next few months and eventually have a public launch in the middle of next year so we need to establish a concrete branding before that. Our products serve both businesses and end users so the it will be a branded ecosystem.

We found and talked to different agencies across the globe from Asia to EU and North America and compared their proposals. Escalate offers exactly what we need at the most competitive price and timeline.

We first provided Escalate with requirement and expectation for the scope of work and guided them through our brand architecture. Escalate then came up with the ideas following two different styles through thorough proposals. Escalate adjusted their proposals based on our feedbacks and finally delivered a well-rounded and satisfying branding work. Deliverables include visual style, brand logo design, and complementary brand identity of sub-logos, brand background, and icon sets.

We now have a cohesive branding across our offered products and services, which is also well resonated with the company values and visually pleasing to our audiences.

We set up a projected timeline and Escalate has always delivered the milestones ahead of the schedule. After each milestone, we have a meeting to review and decide the next step.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Escalate has high work ethics and the partners are smart so they can fulfill our unique and complex branding requirements as well as envision how the brand will be based on limited concurrent information. Their expertise is reliable and proven, leading to high quality and beautiful work. They are also flexible enough to adjust their work based on the clients' expectation and styles but still maintain the structured quality and professionalism.

The tender was followed by sharing our history, future visions and business strategy which resulted into the deep brief on Escalate. They proved many times even during the briefing as the real professionals and analytics of the "issues", and helped us to move on the right strategy. Their approach is overreaching "just" the design, which its self is perfect as well.

We are working with 2 people of their team, but they can cover many competences at once, from the management to arts.

The main goal was to create a much better looking mobile app for great project call Lesmír - https://lesmir.sk/. I know that Escalate Ltd - are a great UI magicians, so we've decided to work with them, to help project Lesmír grow.

We've already worked together with Escalate in the past, so there was no hesitation to contact them again when we needed UI design for this project.

1. Escalate started with an intro call to gather all information, assets and everything to know about project. 
2. We have set together all important dates, our expectations, and we divided everything into stages.
3. They created a moodboard where we went together through different styles, so they learnt what we really want 
4. After moodboard session, we received first concepts of APP, where we have seen 3 different conceptualisations -
   A. premium + clean,
   B. Illustrations + playful,
   C. combination of both
5. After we decided which style we loved the most - they started with every other screen
6. In the end after we saw all the screens, we had a short call about how will be the design handoff prepared and everything was delivered to a developer.

The cooperation was really smooth!

The design is exactly what we wanted and needed. We believe this will change experience of Lesmir's customers.

I am the Product Manager of the company, responsible for developing our proprietary tech solution comprising of a mobile app, web apps, and website.

We wanted to take our mobile app to the next level: perform a thorough usability review of the existing design and improve on it, create designs for new features, as well as build a coherent design system.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We searched online for regional UX/UI designers and shortlisted approx. 30 based on how we liked their portfolios. Following the initial interviews, we had 5 candidates on the roster. In the end, we decided on Escalate, as it turned out that they had previous experience with a design project in the same industry and seemed to be very passionate and enthusiastic about this new opportunity.

The team performed a thorough usability review of our existing design of the app. They also provided improved designs for the screens which we knew from the start we wanted to re-imagine. We received multiple versions of the design for each screen, which helped us imagine what future work could look like. I prioritised the usability feedback and the next phase of the project included providing new designs for high priority items. Along the way, the designers have been building a comprehensive design system.

We worked directly with two UX/UI designers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The new designs have performed well in further usability tests and have been easy to implement by our developers. The design system is easy to use and helps us create new designs ad hoc.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We mostly communicated via email and the communication was very swift.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They made the whole process very easy for us and demonstrated solid knowledge and skills on top of creative flair. We felt like we were in a safe pair of hands and could trust that the end product would be cohesive, beautiful, and very easy to use - both for our app users, as well as us in the backend. As the team is quite versatile, we also know that we can reach out to them when we will need any new design for other products, e.g. our website or physical marketing collateral.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Occasionally we felt that some of the designs could have been more out-of-the-box from the get-go, but this is something that we were mostly able to correct in further discussion.
