The scope of work involved designing manufacturable and easy-to-assemble custom electronics for Fourier Scientific’s Frequency Domain Thermoreflectance equipment. The key deliverables were:

(1) Production Package: A comprehensive reference for manufacturing partners, including Gerber Files, Bill of Materials (BOMs), 3D Models, and detailed Drawings.

(2) Rapid Prototypes: Early samples produced via third-party to test and validate the electronic designs, with the objective of streamlining production and enhancing assembly efficiency of the motor control board and other electronic components.

Emergnt Design Labs delivered all promised deliverables, including a comprehensive Production Package and high-quality Rapid Prototypes. The project resulted in significantly enhanced manufacturability and ease of assembly for our Frequency Domain Thermoreflectance equipment. The improvements exceeded our expectations, demonstrably increasing production efficiency and reducing assembly time.

Emergnt Design Labs was contracted to build out a full new fishing tool for the offshore fishing market. They first were creating conceptual designs which we were able to narrow down to 2 designs that we wanted to get 3D printed. The next stage was that they would then create the CAD designs of the items, which they are extremely good at, and then we would go through a rapid-iteration stage with our 3D printer. 

Once we went through the rapid-iteration stage, they were expected to create a final production package that I could then send to a sourcing team to get sourced for me.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The measurable outcome for this project was that we would be able to seamlessly transfer the project from the engineering stage to the production stage without any hiccups.

The management of the project is top notch. They sent a weekly project update every Friday before the close of business and they made sure to follow up whenever they needed something. They are extremely good at communication and can work as fast or slow as you will allow them to.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most impressive thing about this company is their ability to rapidly iterate product changes as well as create a seamless production package that I am able to send straight to the factory without having to try to translate it all.

There is nothing at this time, Emergnt Design Labs was the best engineering team that we have worked with!

We wanted to have a professional design team to bring our ideas to life.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Emergnt Design Labs took our initial idea and built CAD models and early 3D-printed models. If we approved the changes, they also provided stainless steel instruments. Emergnt Design Labs handled all of the design and prototyping processes.

We found them through an online search. We chose them because they had high ratings and offered good value for the cost.

We worked together between July 2025–October 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Emergnt Design Labs delivered exactly what we asked for and needed to take our idea to the manufacturers. They made several changes that we asked for and recommended based on the instruments and what we were aiming to achieve.The product evolved into a much smaller version than what we initially proposed. This is important because it directly impacted the incision size for the medical procedure. The incision was reduced from 2 cm to under a centimeter. This means that the procedure went from requiring stitches to now, in most cases, requiring dermabond and a band-aid. This results in faster procedure times and improved patient recovery.

How did Emergnt Design Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

They delivered everything on time. We communicated via virtual meetings, email, and messaging apps.

We were impressed by how quickly they adapted to our requests.
