Their team handled everything from initial topic and keyword research to the publication of fully optimized articles. Using their proprietary FALCON AI tool alongside human expertise, they developed a strategic content plan and produced high-quality, SEO-optimized articles. 

Each piece was complemented by bespoke featured graphics that aligned with our brand. Throughout the process, Ellipsis tracked the content's performance, providing regular reports and continuously refining the strategy based on data.

The most significant outcome was a 125% increase in clicks to our website's content. This substantial growth in organic traffic was a clear indicator of the effectiveness of their content strategy and SEO optimization efforts.

How did your relationship with Ellipsis® evolve?
Ellipsis created content for us regularly for around 2.5 years and undoubtedly contributed to the growth of the company. However, in the last few months of working together, I began to notice issues with their process and with the quality of their content.
In what ways can they improve?
The issues included a lack of attention to detail, a lack of technical knowledge of the products they were writing on, and a somewhat relaxed attitude towards quality. In my view, this was not related to a single individual but seemed to be present at multiple stages of the process.
Ellipsis responded positively to the issues that I highlighted and made significant changes to their process. They also undertook to rework, free of charge, around 25% of the content they had created for me. However, the quality issues persisted. Unfortunately, it also emerged that Ellipsis were simultaneously producing content for competitors that was designed to compete against and outrank the content they were producing for us.
When questioned about this, the leadership was deflective and seemingly unwilling to directly address my concerns about the commercial impact on my business. The MD also part-owns a company that is a competitor to many of Ellipsis clients. I can’t help but feel that this is a significant conflict of interest. The quality issues and a lack of transparency from the leadership were insurmountable and we no longer use Ellipsis’ services.
What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?
There are a lot of SEO / content marketing agencies out there. If your business is WordPress-related, I would consider other options - quality and transparency are lacking.

This was done through the production of 4 posts each month, and thus building a library of content that would bring us an ever-increasing volume of organic traffic and leads. Ellipsis worked with us to identify keywords that could be a good fit for our target customers and product. 

Ellipsis uses its FALCON AI to predict which piece of content is going to perform best. Part of FALCON AI runs on Akkio’s AI platform and we’re obviously pleased to leverage the technology. Ellipsis produces the content for us with their in-house writing team, including on complex AI topics. They also take care of link building and reporting, and we meet monthly to discuss progress and updates.

We have Ellipsis’ Content Growth service, where they take care of a long-term content strategy and the implementation of this. Each month, we produce a set number of pieces for the WP Recipe Maker blog with the goal of increasing organic traffic and conversions. Ellipsis uses their FALCON AI to select keywords, and we do this on a quarterly basis. 

Ellipsis looks at 300-500 keywords for each Content Growth keyword that gets selected, and for each one that is selected, FALCON AI generates thousands of variables and tests which one is going to be most performant (before the content gets created). This means when their Strategy team proposes keywords to me, I have confidence that the proposed keywords are a good fit for performance and the product. 

The content we create focuses on showcasing how to solve problems searchers might have that WP Recipe Maker solves. A recent example is a post on how to create a “Jump to recipe” button for your recipe blog. WP Recipe Maker offers this functionality, and by showing this alongside real WP Recipe Maker customer examples, we’re able to ensure the product is central to the content and thus increase the chance of conversions.

Since we started working with Ellipsis, overall organic traffic has increased by 78%. Content Growth is responsible for 72% of our organic traffic, and the month-on-month traffic growth rate is 18%.

Ellipsis has provided us with a holistic and tailored SEO strategy across 4 of our products; we have multiple posts/month and have tactically focused on different products at various milestones of the engagement to boost success and drive intended performance results.

The keyword research is extremely detailed and this is assisted with their in-house proprietary FALCON AI. In collaboration, we identify keywords to fit the product and our target customers, and then create high-quality content against these identified KWs.

Our dedicated Content Manager handles the process autonomously and we’ve been able to successfully remove checks from our side without any impact to the quality of the deliverables. We value their transparent reporting, which enables us to track and optimize our progress. We get monthly email reports and meet quarterly to discuss results and plan for upcoming objectives.

After 1 year of Content Growth, organic traffic on BizPrint increased 13.5x and Content Growth accounts for 79% of our traffic. Additionally, we are able to achieve top rankings with new content within 2 weeks as a result of winning subject matter authority. After 1 year of Content Growth, organic traffic for Jovvie increased 31.2x and Content Growth accounts for 84% of our traffic.

The content brief and draft go through a review from our side, and then Ellipsis works on organic promotion once the content is live. We also work together monthly on addressing content updates of legacy content. The key deliverable is content each month that aims to achieve a top ranking and bring us visibility and conversions.

In the first 2 years of our collaboration on SEO Content, 84% of the 92 pieces of content we worked on with Ellipsis achieved were ranking in the top 10 results on Google. After September 2021, this increased to 91% in the top 10.

Our needs evolved a few times during the course of our mission but Ellipsis was always very quick to adapt and answer these new needs.

Overall very happy. One minor thing to improve would be reporting. We receive end-of-month reports to track the progress and results of the new content made with Ellipsis. The format has changed over time as Ellipsis has improved, but it's not quite there yet.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Our aim is to produce blog content that educates the reader about how Sensei LMS can help them, and brings in sales. The stages of the project support this. The Ellipsis team uses their FALCON AI to find keywords relevant to our target market. I genuinely look forward to the quarterly reports and recommendations from FALCON AI! 

Once we have the quarterly keywords, each month our Content Manager creates a detailed content brief for each of our posts. This comes to me for approval and feedback. Once the brief is approved, Ellipsis takes care of the writing and editing. The draft content comes back to me, we get it on the site, and we get it published. 

Once the content is live, the Ellipsis team keeps me up to date monthly with reporting. I speak with them bi-monthly for more detailed check-in and reporting.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

In the first 6 months, organic traffic increased over 100%, and by 12 months, organic traffic increased over 220%. We have seen sales increase significantly over this period.

Our primary point of contact is our Content Manager. They lead the project and coordinate what we need with the rest of the Ellipsis team. This includes the Strategy team, where we work with people in these positions: Head of SEO & Strategy, SEO Strategist, SEO & Outreach Specialist. Ellipses has always delivered on time (or early) and is quick to respond to our feedback and questions.

The best part about working with Ellipsis is that they know our audience and our needs. It continues to be a great collaboration and they’ve become a natural extension of our team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Ellipsis® could have done differently?

Our product is continuously improving, and we’ve released significant updates recently. The Ellipsis team has worked with us to ensure the content production aligns with the new features, but doing this without increasing production times has been a challenge.
