I’m the CEO of Keep it Handsome, a line of men’s grooming products.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with ELK MKTG?

We were looking to build out our e-commerce site and get support with our digital marketing strategy. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked very closely. I provided the visual content and narrative about what our company does. ELK MKTG took those materials and organized them into a user-friendly e-commerce site. They incorporated advanced features such as product slideshows and product ratings. As we are a Canadian company, they made sure to have the site available in English and French. 

What is the team composition?

My main point of contact is Daniel (Chief Officer, ELK MKTG). 

How did you come to work with ELK MKTG?

I interviewed four or five other e-commerce developers, but ELK MKTG was by far the most organized. They had a vision for the project and could handle both the technical aspect and marketing aspect of the site. Most other vendors could only do one or the other. 

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement is ongoing. We began working on the website in the summer of 2019 and launched it within six weeks. ELK MKTG continues to handle my social media including Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and the company website.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Daniel’s follow up is excellent, he is quick to act whenever issues arise. For example, I once had a technical issue with the site and he corrected it within 10 minutes. 

How did ELK MKTG perform from a project management standpoint?

They have excellent project management. Daniel is very involved and easy to work with. He’s open to suggestions and maintains a strong line of communication. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The breadth of Daniel’s knowledge was impressive. He has the technical expertise and was able to develop a strong visual understanding of my brand as well. Their combination of technical ability and marketing strategy is unique.  

The proof is in the pudding as I continue to give ELK MKTG more work and responsibilities, based on their performance.

I work at Dream Pants Inc. We’re an online seller of women’s fashion. We sell our products on three websites and Amazon.

We hired ELK MKTG to make our site more user-friendly and professional. Our website and marketing approach needed to be updated to keep up with our competitors.

What was the scope of their involvement?

ELK MKTG developed our e-commerce website using Shopify. They incorporated user-friendly features and ensured it was accessible.

After redoing our website, they updated our branding materials. During this process, they presented several options for our logo, font, and color schemes. We went through multiple rounds to find the right appearance and the ELK MKTG team implemented our selections into the new site.

How did you come to work with ELK MKTG?

They were local to us and worked in the same building, so it was easy to reach out to them. They made a professional presentation to show us their services and we liked the benefits they offered.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $5,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June—August 2018.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The feedback from our visitors has been overwhelmingly positive. Users have reported the site is fun to navigate and easy to use. Our suppliers love the way their brands are represented on our site now. We’re happy with how professional and attractive the platform is.

How did ELK MKTG perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very professional from the beginning of the project. We received materials in advance and everything was shown to us in PowerPoint presentations. They used mood boards to show color and scheme ideas, which we found helpful.

We used email and the phone to communicate. Whenever we had questions they were available to help us. If we needed changes or extra features, they were willing to go above and beyond right away.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They have a keen eye for design and marketing—they delivered on everything we asked for. They offer the entire package and are a one-stop shop for us.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be as detailed as you can from the beginning. If you provide them with enough information and take the time to explain your ideas, they’ll be able to collaborate more effectively. Everything should be decided on together.
