I'm a writer of self-help and fiction books. I hired EK Editorial and Coaching to edit my upcoming self-help book and to assist me in developing a marketing plan.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Elise gives me focused/detailed attention to my project goals. While I am still in the editorial phase of my book she has given direction and encouragement. My work is better for her involvement.

EK's ability to deliver is fantastic.I have a hard time keeping up with her! Because I have several projects she keeps me on track without making me feeling guilty if I've fallen behind due to my busy schedule. At the same time she is no nonsense in her approach which helps me direct my energies.

I’m the owner of Town Square NW Austin, a senior care center.

What challenge were you trying to address with EK Public Relations?

We wanted to start with publicity for our new center. We needed to figure out the best route for marketing and PR.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We had an initial meeting with EK Public Relations to discuss our business, origin story, and target market. We wanted to focus on our target audience so we could focus on what we’d need for advertising, connecting with local news channels, and social media.

They’ve connected us with a local TV station; they’re interested in interviewing us, but there has been a challenge with scheduling due to the Russian Invasion of Ukraine. We’re still working on that.

We only work with Elise (CEO).

I met Elise personally through networking.

We’ve spent about $11,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2021, and our relationship is ongoing.

We’re very satisfied with their work. They have a lot of experience; EK Public Relations gives us honest feedback and coaching.

How did EK Public Relations perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is excellent. We use Asana to keep track of tasks and responsibilities and communicate via Zoom, email, text, phone, and personal meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Overall, their experience is outstanding. They have several years in PR, so they have good ideas of what we could do.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Elise is straightforward, and some people are more sensitive than others. It can get a bit emotional.

Just make sure that you’re ready for the critique and honest feedback.

I ran into her on a flight and got to know her capabilities.

She helped me organized my thoughts around my content, helped me with refining my approach and TOC for my book. Did the initial reviews of my work and helped me put my manuscript together.

I was able to write and publish the book that I always wanted to.

The nature of the project did not warrant an extensive project management framework. It was a fixed priced project we agreed upon the deliverables and milestones in advance.

She is a seasoned professional who understands coaching and guiding authors well.

I knew Elise and knew of her talents in book writing and coaching so I approached her about this project for her assistance.

After signing up as a client, Elise went over the fundamentals of putting a book together. She provided weekly assignments and coaching sessions and ensured that I remained on track.

Elise was the book coach and mentor I worked with.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I chose to end this project early due to timing conflicts at my work and a major case of “writer’s block”. I haven’t given up, I’ve just put this on hold for now. But thanks to Elise’s preparation I feel that I now have the tools to start writing again when the time is right.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Elise was always prepared for and engaged in our meetings. She made me feel that my project was the most important thing she worked on every time we met.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Elise knows her stuff. She has both written and ghost written books and approaches this work with an effective combination of practical exercises and creativity.
