The app launched on iOS and Android on schedule, 16 weeks from the start of design. The clearest measurable outcome was AI response time. Even the most complex query, where the assistant has to search back through a user's own history before it can answer, returns in under five seconds. That was the number we cared about most, because an assistant that thinks for thirty seconds does not get used twice. The second was privacy. All user data stayed resident in Germany, and the account data the model could read carried no link to any identifiable person. For a mental health product that is not a detail, it is the licence to launch at all.

This is what we would put first if we could only say one thing. The whole engagement felt like the app was being assembled on a conveyor belt. Nothing about it was chaotic or unpredictable, which is rare enough in this industry that it stood out immediately. Everything was delivered on time, across all 16 weeks. Communication was transparent throughout - we always knew what state the build was in without having to chase anybody for it. Because we owned the client relationship, we had to report progress upward every week, and they made that easy instead of risky. When we raised changes, they came back with what it meant for the schedule before doing the work, not after.

The predictability. Most development teams sell you on capability and then deliver chaos. This felt like a production line - each stage handed to the next one cleanly, with no drama in between. As an agency putting a partner in front of our own client, that matters to us more than raw brilliance. The AI was the other standout, and it was not a chatbot bolted onto the side of the app. They built a custom MCP server so the model had real access to the app data and could go and search a user's history when it needed to, the way a coding assistant works through a codebase. The result is an assistant that answers about your mood log and your journal, rather than reciting generic advice. They had solved this problem before, so we were not paying for their research.

Nothing that affected the outcome. If we had to name one thing, we would bring them in earlier next time - during our own scoping with the client, before the proposal was signed.
