The team has already created a self-hosted Web3 infrastructure, which is running in production mode at the moment. And at the stage of infrastructure implementation, Dysnix engineers conducted a few consulting sessions to learn more about how they could assist us in moving forward with the project. When we described our needs and the major challenge of the MEV market—the highest speed of transactions—the Dysnix team in an extremely short amount of time designed the Transaction Simulator.

Transaction Stimulator is an innovative custom self-hosted solution that is installed into blockchain nodes—Ethereum, BNB, and Polygon—and integrated with our application in the Kubernetes cluster. As a result, we got the opportunity to stimulate transactions as fast as lightspeed: one transaction lasts only for 8 milliseconds!!

As we work with RPC providers and have specific integration requirements with them, the Dysnix team has also designed and integrated one more of their self-hosted solutions—RPCFast Gateway. This is an essential JSON RPC proxy that enables metrics monitoring, load balancing, rate limit control, and API key access restriction. To make the integration process as simple as possible, the team developed separate endpoints for our clients and integrated support for the project into RPCFast Gateway.

To improve interaction with backend nodes by caching non-unique requests, Dysnix engineers also installed JSON RPC Caching proxy, their self-hosted solution for Web3 infrastructure.

As a result, the team added three Dysnix solutions into our self-hosted environment—Transaction Simulator, RPCfast Gateway, and JSON RPC Caching proxy, which have already brought us a huge competitive advantage through high speed and cost-effectiveness.

All of their solutions are cutting-edge and innovative, with the highest quality, and it is really difficult to imagine a more precise match for our needs and requirements on the project.

Our project was at the PoC stage while we were conducting RnD regarding MEV. During that time, we began to work closely with Dysnix engineers. The scope of work might be divided into three major periods, which are as follows:

• 1st phase (Architecture) In collaboration with our development team, Dysnix engineers gathered all requirements for our infrastructure at that current moment. The team reviewed all of our services and nodes, which executed the project’s main business operations, and designed an architecture that would allow the project to run consistently smoothly and fast, and quickly autoscale.
• 2nd phase (Infrastructure) The Dysnix group identified the best-matching options for servers and networks and built server infrastructure in the data center.
• 3rd phase (Software development) The team implemented basic infrastructure using Kubernetes and K3S and deployed four full blockchain nodes into the Kubernetes cluster—Ethereum, BNB chain, Polygon, and Avalanche, along with applications such as Ingress (Istio), RabbitMQ server, Redis, Prometheus stack, and Client apps.

Currently, we are at the stage of complete integration with client applications and support of existing infrastructure.

Dysnix engineered both the front-end and back-end components, integrating designs from their partners for the web platform and application. The expanded SoW encompassed the creation of custom smart contracts, deployment of blockchain infrastructure, MVP development, scalability enhancements, always-on availability, and ongoing support and maintenance. The Dysnix team’s efficiency was exemplary across all dimensions of the project, with balanced contributions to the infrastructure, front-end, and back-end. The infrastructure relied on Google Cloud services, chosen for their scalability and dependability. 
In Google Cloud, Dysnix established DEV, STAGE, DEMO, and PROD environments utilizing Terragrunt and Terraform for infrastructure provisioning. Additionally, Dysnix engineers employed Helm charts and FluxCD for continuous integration and deployment, and configured GitHub Actions for image snapshotting. The application is built on a Java Kotlin microservice architecture for the back-end, utilizing the Spring Boot framework, and a React-based front-end, ensuring an impeccable user experience, rapid performance, and high efficiency. 
The application secures the fastest and most secure connections to the blockchain and the web through RPC Fast and Infura endpoints. For the MVP, configurations were set up on the Ethereum Testnet, while the production deployment transitioned to the Polygon network.

The Dysnix team in particular was in charge of delivering the infra part in the process of providing a comprehensive solution for the Top-5 DEX in collaboration with us. Three geo-distributed GKE clusters were deployed by the Dysnix team with identical configurations, each cluster having a few roles for the blockchain nodes.

Some nodes communicate with the blockchain, some offer RPC, and yet more supporting nodes that offer the recent snapshots needed for quick node scaling. Therefore if needed, we can scale up by 100 times in 30 minutes. For traffic filtration and DDoS defense, the team integrated Cloudflare.

In addition, the solution incorporated Google Global Load Balancer to route all traffic to a single endpoint and thereby significantly reducing customer network latency. The project is based on managed Kubernetes and GKE. Additionally, to ensure controlled, safe and secure adjustments, Terraform + Terragrunt are used for infrastructure maintenance.

Dysnix participated alongside tens of other companies in the Velas grant program. Answering our challenge, their team suggested a comprehensive solution—an implementation of quick access to Velas blockchain historical data and an optimization mechanism for response time that would reduce costs and eliminate periodical downtimes due to traffic spikes.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I have known the Dysnix team for a long time, and I was always impressed by their way of thinking and high level of expertise. We have already collaborated on several projects, and I am familiar with their high level of responsibility and deep experience in blockchain infrastructure, blockchain development, and development of custom solutions. We provide grants for creating new tools and projects to increase the utility of Velas for our users.

So, Dysnix participated in the grant program, and unquestionably, their proposal was the best of all. In the nutshell, it allows Velas ecosystem users to access historical data using JSON-RPC protocol as if they access blockchain nodes. It was the case of a custom solution development for blockchain.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The team designed Velas-proxy — a custom solution that accesses to Bigtable, and combined it with JSON RPC Caching Proxy. This Dysnix product invalidates cache with deprecated data through a smart algorithm and allows access to backend nodes only when necessary. The solution retains all the standards of JSON-RPC server for EVM blockchains, and the main idea is tracking and detecting historical data in the block information.

In the case of detecting historical data, the Velas-proxy part creates a request to Bigtable, gets the requested data, and generates a response for the client side in the JSON-RPC format. Dysnix engineers integrated such a proxy-pipeline into several Velas production systems.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We got a custom solution that simplified access to the Velas blockchain historical data and reduced time-to-market for blockchain projects. Moreover, we received an additional open-source product on GitHub, which enhances our capabilities in similar solution development. So, we can use this product as a ready-made component for other systems. So, basically, Dysnix designed an additional proxy-layer that provides a convenient, simple interface where our users deal with historical data as if they have access to the regular blockchain.

All DApps applications have started working faster without timeouts, which is a significant improvement for all DApss customers. Generally speaking, the custom proxy solution has reduced the need of Velas in the compute resources and speeded up the whole Velas ecosystem's further development.

The workflow with this team is always effective and productive. Dysnix has led an entire development cycle—from R&D to a production-ready solution. In other words, the progressive Dysnix team combined all the advantages of the Product development team and the Custom Solution development team, so there was minimal involvement in the process from our side. The workflow related to the JSON RPC Caching Proxy product by Dysnix was quite clear and transparent.

Dysnix deployed their product to our environment and tested it on the testnet, and then we deployed it to the mainnet. The team configured a specific pipeline where the clients initially refer to JSON RPC Caching Proxy, then to Velas-proxy, and then to Velas blockchain nodes. The collected metrics demonstrated that such a comprehensive solution significantly improved the UX characteristics by reducing the JSON-RPC endpoint response time, as well as costs.

It’s their deep understanding of the niche and the project’s context. Such great expertise allowed them to tightly integrate their beneficial custom solution with Velas ecosystem. One of the most impressive things is Dysnix's extensive experience at the junction of two domain industries—Blockchain and Infrastructure—so their expert knowledge enabled the creation of such an ingenious solution. That’s valuable.

The challenge was developing a supported and scalable infrastructure to run our services. We had already had some projects, environments, and the Kubernetes cluster before we addressed Dysnix. Our team had done some groundwork, and this time we decided to request a reliable, viable solution from the specialists and implement improvements much faster than doing everything by ourselves.

Another upgrade we wanted to develop was a CI/CD pipeline, which implies deploying ten basic services and more than 250 clients’ bots. The main challenge here was to develop a custom solution for those clients' bots that would automatically allow us to deploy them in the Kubernetes cluster on demand without software engineers' involvement.

It is an architecture and infrastructure created from scratch on Kubernetes with GitLab CI/CD and development and production environments. As we had some experience with AWS, we decided to use it in our project.

Additionally, Dysnix engineers integrated a custom proxy solution and developed a custom CI/CD for clients’ bots. We had custom requirements for autoscaling and monitoring, as we used open-source utilities for business metrics collecting. Based on those details, the Dysnix team deployed and configured Prometheus and Elastic Search with separate pipelines, which would send data to Grafana and Kibana, in addition to internal utilities for monitoring and logging.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The whole project was implemented with IaC and the “Deployment as a code” approach, which made the entire development process easy, fast, and stable at the same time. We got two reliable environments, both with auto-scaling and configured CI/CD, along with separate custom CI/CD for the automatic deployment of more than 250 clients’ bots. We requested a custom proxy solution for developing and implementing a few proxy pools for data parsing with fixed IP addresses. So, the Dysnix team developed a multi-level proxy system and implemented it in AWS and Kubernetes.

Additionally, they succeeded in performance-cost optimizations, as default EKS settings didn't allow us to reach the required performance level. Now, Dysnix engineers are working on the third environment, performance and CI/CD speed optimizations, and operational routine.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We held an initial call with the team to discuss our needs and expectations for results. Then Cloud Architect created a draft of the architecture and prepared SoW. The Dysnix team started with infrastructure implementation and moved following the SoW. We had weekly syncs where invited engineers shared their updates and the next steps planned for the implementation process.

Within the whole active development phase, the Dysnix team conducted demos so that we could be able to see the progress. All new tasks and questions were added to the tracking list and prioritized as the project progressed. In addition, for urgent communication and operational questions, we had a working chat where Dysnix engineers kindly and attentively answered our quick requests.

They honestly acknowledge an issue and continually work to find a solution. They never remain silent on any problem but always try to find the roots of it and the real reason why it has happened—they eliminate the complications with all passion and commitment.

For what projects/services did your company hire Dysnix, and what were your goals?

We wanted somebody to help with a Kubernetes deployment. We were struggling with multi-cloud and multi-region deployments. And we knew we wanted to containerize the application and make something that was portable across cloud providers and would be easy to manage at scale. So we wanted to implement a pull model where we had Kubernetes clusters that were reasonably portable that would be pulling configuration from a central repository and would configure and heal themselves.

I had a few ideas but I had no direct experience with the technology that I wanted to try. So we engaged Dysnix to help us with our R&D project and put together a PoC, which was ultimately successful and led to our long lasting relationship.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Yeah, so I reached out to a number of platforms, like Upwork and Fiverr. I wanted somebody who was potentially like a freelance DevOps guy who had really great Kubernetes knowledge and could help me progress my idea to the PoC. We actually engaged a few people over the same project to see what people would come back with. The best result was exactly from Dysnix team. And then we quickly got to work and it became a direct relationship from that.

Dysnix has basically built for us the Git driven Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solution where we can deploy environments in multiple regions on multiple cloud providers. And it's a pretty unique requirement as we have a lot of jurisdictional concerns, so we don't want data crossing country borders. We have a lot of people that have really strong preferences on where they want their data hosted and on what cloud. That's only becoming a bigger requirement for us, with enterprise clients we get. So Dysnix helped us to manage that thing with multiple productions and requirements.

Dysnix has built an effective architecture, where the whole things are driven from Git repositories, so PRs can be raised on infrastructure repos, and then translated into a deployment process to our multiple production environments. We end up having that code to push that automatically into a multitude of our environments. So it's a way to centrally manage all of our infrastructure using Git flow effectively.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Yeah, in terms of business outcomes, we're now positioned as the only provider in our space that can support multiple cloud technologies. We are the only provider in our space that can support single tenancy deployments. So we can deploy the product into a dedicated environment for big customers. Managing that would be almost impossible the way it was. And now it's actually no extra cost to manage the environment for us day to day. It's a massive win for the company.

Now we have around 30 stable and failover production environments and quite flexible IaC that is easy to manage and maintain. Also we keep building new production environments as well as scaling and supporting our infrastructure. Actually, what we've ended up with now is relying on Dysnix entirely for our DevOps demands. We don't have another DevOps.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

I think it's fairly flawless. Yeah, I am really happy. I think there was also a benefit to have Dysnix at the PoC phase. I remember when the Dysnix engineer and I worked really closely together in that PoC phase, when we weren't necessarily trying to do anything, we were just seeing if that stuff works. We felt each other out on what was important. And we were discussing and negotiating a bunch of things. I actually think we have a really great collaboration with Dysnix.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The outcomes have just been, like, I say, stellar. There is no craziness in the system. It's super predictable. If I need to answer a question, I can do so very quickly. And I think it's that appreciation for making things.

I think it's just an alignment on what makes things easy. Making things easy means you're exposing the right things and you're making things predictable. And the approach is predictable. And I guess it's that thing that I find most impressive in Dysnix because the temptation of modern DevOps engineers is to revert to complicated scripting and a bunch of software that acts between you and what you're trying to do.

I believe that's what I find most impressive working with Dysnix is that they've managed to do what we wanted without much in the way of custom stuff. And that's what I value most from what Dysnix brought to our company. Because like I say, everything can be done with a 4000 lines bash script, but it's not always the most responsible way to solve a problem.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think it would be great if we all lived in the same time zone. I guess managing the time zone is challenging sometimes.

We hired Dysnix to develop, implement, and support a reliable and secure infrastructure for our blockchain analytics platform. A high level of security was the essential point of our needs. We needed a fail-safe and highly secure deployment for Ronin blockchain validator nodes.

Three years ago, I met the Dysnix team when we worked together on the blockchain project for the Google Cloud platform. When the Nansen.ai team realized it needed a highly professional DevOps service related to blockchain, we reached out to Dysnix. Dysnix deployed two validator nodes (the second served as the backup node) in the Google Kubernetes Engine and used the best safe deployment practices. Our Ronin validator does not directly address the P2P blockchain network. As between the validator and internet space, there are sentry blockchain nodes that function as the reverse proxying for the P2P blockchain. And, of course, the Dysnix team developed backups and recovery schemes for such a system. The whole project was implemented in the context of IaC and the deployment process as a code.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have the functional, operational, fail-safe, and reliable Ronin blockchain validator node that handles some transactions. The validator node has a safe deployment and secure access with maximal isolation from the internet space as it could be. Dysnix deploys and supports multiple Ronin archive nodes to use it as an RPC service for our analytics.

We have got precisely what we were looking for, and even more so—the Dysnix team was so understanding towards our strict policy and extreme confidentiality in the questions of providing private accesses, deployment processes, and the communication itself. At the current time, the Dysnix team is still supporting the project.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We reached out to the team with our request, and they created a high-level SoW. Then, Dysnix conducted the R&D phase and, after 2-3 clarification sessions, came up with the final decision according to the architecture and in-depth detailed SoW. On the SoW basis, they described low-level tasks in their tracking system and started implementing them.

Throughout the active development phase, the Senior DevOps Engineer held demos, and the Cloud Architect conducted small internal R&Ds for better understanding and involvement in the context of the project. The team implemented the staging environment with three working Ronin Sentry nodes and created the instructions for the Nansen team, where they described in detail how we could deploy our environment with two functional Ronin validator nodes.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It is the detailed architecture and infrastructure design already at the initial stage and the most profound understanding of the domain context, I mean, the blockchain context. Also, we appreciate the openness and willingness to prompt communication and assistance in resolving any issues and questions related to the project. The Dysnix team is always ready to help and show understanding.

The team considers all our wishes and is eager to accomplish our additional requests, such as configuring access to the node with the parsing possibility, load balancer implementation, and creating the archive nodes. We are exceedingly pleased with the Dysnix team’s performance and expertise.

One of the main aspects is that our cloud infrastructure was developed as cloud-agnostic and now it can be runned in on-premises environments. So we can run our system even on a bare-metal server that is very essential for our security requirement.

Sure! Dysnix team has already developed and implemented a reliable, flexible and fail-safe architecture according to our requirements and needs as well as set up and deployed 2 environments (testing and staging) which are completely covered with monitoring that provides a rapid respond to any incidents.

These envs were deployed using IaC patterns and the best practices in the context of security as a storage of client’s personal data is a very important question for us. At the moment we are getting ready for the production release and Dysnix team continuous supporting and maintaining the infrastructure they built as well as consulting our dev team.

After a while, one more environment for the monitoring processes was added, as our software product got a significant load. The team also set up the complex CI/CD systems using GitLab CI that we normally use for our projects’ hosting and provided in-depth consultancy.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have an IaC and architecture prototypes that we use and build the whole architecture we want. We have an infallible and scalable Kubernetes-based infrastructure with fast and flexible CI/CD that we can implement, change, and maintain by ourselves. So it is a well-structured infrastructure as a code based on a ‘helm+helmfile’ couple that allows us to deploy our apps in Kubernetes by ourselves.

We continue working with Dysnix regarding development and some maintenance issues. The DevOps engineer who works on our project is a great guy. He does his work great. He is doing his best to reply to us as soon as possible, and we have no complaints, only praise.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

At the very beginning, we set a specific workflow according to different types of communication, the pipeline of the tasks, and monitoring of the implementation process. In this way, we got a great kind of balance between team members and understand each other well now. I need tasks to be done perfectly, which is exactly what I obtain from the Dysnix team. You need to find conscientious people to work with.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I always like their responsible attitude to work and proactivity, as well as their special organizational autonomy in performing tasks: the team always strictly follows the schedule, starts working on a task, and comes with results in a few days. The outcome is always well-documented suggestions and new ideas on how it could be better implemented. Even if they have already found a working and well-fit solution, they will surely look for another option to discover an alternative to present to us.
