Please include a summary of key deliverables. The project focused on improving the mobile app experience for stylists using SalonScale, a backbar and color cost management platform. The goal was to increase usability, efficiency, and adoption among stylists by reducing friction during in-session logging, improving clarity around product usage and costs, and ensuring the mobile experience supported real salon workflows.Stylists rely on the mobile app during fast-paced service appointments, so the project prioritized speed, accuracy, and ease of use. The work combined strategic UX evaluation, qualitative user research, competitive analysis, and hands-on design exploration to identify issues and deliver validated, actionable solutions:UX audit & heuristic reviewReview user research feedbackCompetitor & market researchIdeation & concept developmentWireframing & prototyping

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? This project was broken down into milestones that had deadlines to meet. At each phase we would work with our customer success team to get feedback and do any updates as needed. Based on the feedback there may need a couple more revisions before we could move onto the next milestone.Durran was very timely with their updates and took feedback very well. If there was any changes needed they took the feedback and got the changes done quickly and would often give a couple options to review.Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs? We would have 2 scheduled sessions each week. These would be remote meetings through Google Meet where we would review the work done and go over any feedback and next steps. We also would coordinate through Slack as needed for any communication needed outside of the scheduled sessions. We had milestones to meet and they would deliver on time. Often they would present a couple options to bring back and get feedback on. If any changes were needed they were quick to do any updates at any point in the process. What was your primary form of communication with Durran?Virtual MeetingWhat did you find most impressive or unique about this company? They had deep design thinking skills and didn't just produce good looking designs. Durran consistently anchored design decisions in business goals and real user behavior. They challenged assumptions, clarified the problem, and ensured every design decision tied back to the outcomes we were looking for.SalonScale has nuanced, real-time workflows used in fast-paced salon environments. Durran demonstrated a rare ability to quickly understand complex, operational products and translate that complexity into clear, usable mobile experiences without oversimplifying the underlying logic. Are there any areas for improvement or something Durran could have done differently?Earlier alignment on technical constraints would have helped. Some concepts pushed the product forward in the right direction but required later adjustment once engineering constraints were clearer. Bringing technical feasibility conversations (or a lightweight engineering check) slightly earlier could have reduced iteration and helped prioritize ideas with a faster path to implementation.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Durran? We needed help elevating the UI/UX of Flixier so that our product could better reflect the quality and innovation behind the technology.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Durran has revamped our existing interface and designed new features and functionalities for Flixier. Their work includes modernizing outdated parts of the product, ensuring consistency across the platform, and creating intuitive designs for the new capabilities we're rolling out. The main deliverables are updated UI components, improved UX flows, and detailed design assets that our engineering team can implement directly.Durran has designed a new dashboard experience for Flixier, making it easier for users to navigate and access key features. In addition, they've worked on new tools such as VideoGPT, along with several other smaller enhancements that improve the platform's overall usability and workflow. Our main objectives are to streamline the user experience and make complex video editing workflows feel intuitive and accessible; create a modern, consistent design language that aligns with our brand identity; improve usability and onboarding, helping new users get value from Flixier faster; and collaborate closely with our engineering team to ensure design decisions are feasible and scalable. Ultimately, the goal is to deliver a product experience that delights users while supporting our growth as a platform. What is the team composition? We work with three teammates from Durran. How did you come to work with Durran? We found them through a referral. We chose Durran over other options because they demonstrated a rare balance between a strong design vision and practical implementation. From the very beginning, they took the time to understand not just our product but also our users and technical constraints. Compared to other agencies, Durran stood out with their collaborative approach, responsiveness, and ability to translate feedback into meaningful improvements. Ultimately, they felt less like an external partner and more like an extension of our own team, which made a huge difference. What is the status of this engagement? We started working with them in January 2025, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We've seen a notable increase in user engagement and retention, as the revamped UI/UX has made it easier for people to explore and adopt our features. After the redesign and new feature rollout with Durran, we've seen a 20% increase in new user accounts created (email sign-ups), alongside higher engagement with the new dashboard and tools like VideoGPT. These improvements have not only helped attract more users but also made the overall product experience smoother and more engaging.Beyond the growth in new user accounts, we've also noticed a reduction in support requests related to navigation and onboarding since the new dashboard has made workflows more intuitive. In addition, our user satisfaction scores have improved in post-release surveys, with users highlighting the cleaner design and easier access to new features like VideoGPT. These results confirm that the design improvements are not only visually appealing but also have a tangible impact on usability and overall experience. How did Durran perform from a project management standpoint?Durran's project management is excellent. They keep communication clear, set realistic expectations, and are highly responsive to feedback. Despite the complexity of the work, they deliver on time and in line with the milestones we've agreed on, which makes the collaboration smooth and efficient. We communicate using Slack. What did you find most impressive about them? What impresses us most about working with Durran is their ability to blend creative design vision with practical execution. ## Portfolio & Awards

### Bliro – Redesigning an AI Meeting Assistant

Bliro is an on-device AI meeting assistant that captures, summarizes, and distributes meeting notes without intrusive bots. It integrates with Salesforce, HubSpot, and Slack, letting teams control how meeting data flows into their systems. Despite strong technical capabilities, Bliro faced challenges with user activation, product clarity, and design consistency.
Durran partnered with Bliro in a 5-week engagement to address these gaps. The work began with a UX audit and discovery workshop, mapping personas, flows, competitor benchmarks, and assumptions. This created a shared product understanding that aligned design with business priorities.
We then explored solutions and built rapid prototypes, testing them with five customers to validate assumptions and refine flows before development. This ensured the design process stayed anchored in real user feedback.
Finally, Durran delivered a redesigned product experience supported by a scalable design system. Developers received clear, reusable assets that reduced handover time and enabled faster iteration.
The outcome was a sharper product identity, improved customer activation, and smoother development cycles. Users reported greater satisfaction with navigation and feature clarity, while the Bliro team gained the structure needed to scale.
As Martin Thoma, Co-founder of Bliro, noted: “The uplift was immense. Our customers benefited from large usability and design improvements that they love talking about.”

### Pick – Empowering Ride-Share Drivers

Pick is a mobility platform built to improve the experience of ride-share drivers. While most platforms prioritize passengers, Pick aimed to create a driver-first ecosystem that boosts earnings, simplifies work, and fosters trust. The challenge was to design an app that balanced driver autonomy with platform efficiency while keeping the interface intuitive for daily, high-frequency use.
Durran worked with Pick’s founders to translate this vision into a product drivers would adopt and stick with. We began with discovery workshops to map driver needs, frustrations, and incentives, combined with competitor analysis to identify gaps in existing mobility apps. The insights revealed critical pain points such as lack of transparency in earnings, limited control over rides, and inconsistent support.
Based on this foundation, we developed driver personas, user journeys, and low-fidelity prototypes. These prototypes were tested with drivers to refine flows around ride acceptance, earnings tracking, and in-app support. We then built an adaptive design system to ensure consistency across iOS and Android and to allow rapid iteration as the platform scaled.
The result was a driver-centric platform with transparent earnings dashboards, simplified onboarding, and features that empower drivers to manage rides with confidence. Beyond usability, the design reinforced Pick’s positioning as a fair and reliable alternative in a crowded mobility market.
By embedding design early, Pick avoided costly rework in development and gained a product vision rooted in real driver feedback. This not only improved adoption but also gave the founding team a scalable system they could continue to evolve as mobility regulations and market expectations change.

### ProfiCircle – Transforming the Fit-Out Constructio

ProfiCircle is a B2B marketplace that connects companies with contractors and suppliers for interior fit-out projects. The platform’s mission is to bring efficiency and transparency to an industry where processes are traditionally slow, fragmented, and relationship-driven. The challenge was to design a digital experience that streamlined procurement while balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
Durran partnered with ProfiCircle to reimagine how buyers, suppliers, and contractors interact. We started with discovery sessions to understand the workflows of procurement managers, architects, and suppliers. Mapping these roles revealed major inefficiencies: complex quoting, unclear communication, and lack of visibility into timelines and costs.
Our approach combined UX research, competitor benchmarking, and iterative prototyping. We developed flows that simplified supplier discovery, standardized quoting, and introduced clear comparison tools for decision-making. Prototypes were tested with users across the ecosystem to refine critical touchpoints such as request-for-proposal submission, negotiation, and approval.
To support scalability, we delivered a modular design system that ensured consistency across web and mobile experiences. This system allowed ProfiCircle to extend features quickly as the platform grew and to maintain visual and functional coherence across different user types.
The result was a marketplace that cut procurement time, increased trust between parties, and provided transparency into every stage of the fit-out process. By focusing on usability and clarity, ProfiCircle was able to attract both enterprise buyers and suppliers, positioning itself as a trusted digital partner in an industry ready for modernization.

### Satvic Movement – Online Health Platform MVP

Satvic Movement is a nonprofit dedicated to spreading holistic health practices through nutrition, yoga, and natural living. With a large community already engaged through offline workshops and YouTube content, the organization aimed to scale digitally by launching an online platform. The challenge was to define an MVP that captured the essence of Satvic’s mission while providing a seamless user experience across diverse health programs.
Durran collaborated with the Satvic team to translate their vision into a product roadmap anchored in real user needs. We began with research and discovery workshops to understand the expectations of community members—from first-time visitors to long-time followers. Through interviews and surveys, we mapped user goals such as structured learning, easy access to resources, and clear progress tracking.
Prototypes were developed to test flows for onboarding, program enrollment, and content delivery. These were validated with early users to ensure the platform addressed pain points like scattered information and lack of personalized guidance. Iterative feedback allowed the team to refine navigation, simplify sign-ups, and design content modules that were intuitive and engaging.
The outcome was a validated MVP concept supported by a clear design system. The platform offered structured health programs, a clean content library, and tools for progress monitoring, all delivered in a user-friendly interface. By focusing on usability and clarity, the MVP ensured that Satvic’s digital presence could scale without losing the authenticity and trust of its community.
With Durran’s support, Satvic was able to move confidently into development, reducing risk and ensuring that the platform design aligned with both user expectations and the organization’s long-term mission of spreading holistic health globally.
