We had a big challenge with user acquisition when we introduced our first mobile game. We had quite a few challenges with mobile app marketing.

BACKGROUND
Could you give a general overview of the work they did for your company?
As far as the work they directly do on our behalf, we used them for a lot of SEO stuff. We really enjoyed getting to No. 1 in our market. It certainly doesn’t hurt us any but, on top of that, we were so impressed with the work that they did for SEO. We actually make them my SEO provider now for my clients.
How long have you been working with them?
I’d say probably about a year and a half now at least.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What was the reason you originally turned to them?
We’re doing our own SEO to a certain degree, but it just wasn’t working. So, we thought it’s time to try something new, and I feel really spoiled that we found them right out of the gate.
Do you remember how you found them?
Yes. I think they were doing some work for another guy who we met out of the Bay Area, and they were doing some website development. It was a large custom application. Then, we found out how large DCI actually was, and that they did have multiple areas. We asked them about SEO, so they put us in touch with the right people, and we got it off and running.
SOLUTION
What would you say is the general cost range for the work they do for you?
I’m probably paying them about $50,000 a year right now just for some work that I’m having them do. I don’t know on average what their cost range would be for most Web development projects. I haven’t done a lot of Web development with them. I’ve done some mobile apps through them, and they’re usually less than $6,000 for a lot of what we ask them to do.
The mobile apps are mostly for your clients you’re working with?
They were initially because we’re ramping up our own team. We tried with them initially, and it needs to be something unique. It’s a platform we don’t operate in. DCI was a go-to for that, but we must save our own mobile app team at this point where we just experimented with DCI.
That $50,000 a year, is that for the SEO for your company, and for you and your clients combined?
Most of that is for my company, but some of that is the clients.

Do you have any specific results that you might be able to share of how well they’ve done?
Yes. For us, we’re usually in the top three in our market. Top three positions for most every term that we want. For the clients, they can usually get them up to No. 1 or No. 2 within 60 days. So, it’s really powerful and fast SEO.
Is there anything that you find unique or special compared to other development firms you’ve worked with?
One of the things I really like about them is their follow-up skills because I’m not always the best to getting back to them in a timely manner. So, I love the reminders. I love knowing that someone’s on top of it. I don’t have to chase them – they chase me, which is fantastic. Just try finding development firms that do that really well. Just try finding development firms that do that really well.
Do you think there’s anything they could improve a bit or do slightly different?
In my perfect world, I think it’d be wonderful if the writing was a little bit better as far as just English content, but the problem there is we’re native English speakers and a lot of the writers are in India, so even though it’s the official language, there’s always going to be that little bit of a different, right? It’s my perfect world scenario, but it’s my responsibility to screen everything and filter it out. A key of mine also is I don’t like a lot of writing that Americans do either, so I’m pretty biased.
It sounds like too you’d recommend them to other people, and that you’re going to keep using them?
Yes. The way I recommend them, though, is I provide the SEO and everyone’s doing the work behind the scenes, they white label it for me. If I didn’t like them, I wouldn’t use them. They’re fantastic.

I will never forget the night Chella convinced me that he wanted to help me with a project for world peace. The exact quote he used to convince me to pay him was "I WILL TAKE ON THIS PROJECT AS IF IT WERE MY OWN". This was the only reason I signed on with him and started paying despite my continued reluctance that we have not made our intentions clear enough. Soon enough, I came to realize this was the biggest mistake I had ever made.

As soon as this doomed process began, it was apparent that the very reason I was convinced to sign on was nothing but a lie to take my money. Chella, this man who just before game me his word that this project would be his own, completely tossed me off to people who could care less (just like him) and merely were content to let me babble on forever and say yes to everything without even thinking about what we were actually creating.

I ended up having to walk away after a prolonged period of hell feeling how deceptive this process was and begging him to care and be honest . This company, as far as I'm concerned, stole nearly 10 grand from me under deceptive practices from what we initially agreed upon and I have the emails to show how this man was objectively failing that every step of the way. Still so ashamed I fell for this glorified con artist.

This man's persistent ability to deny the fundamental principal to which he and I both know was the reason I chose to give his company my money is something only our God will know in the end. I just do not want him or the people over there to forget how much torment this one disgusting lie, to make such a little piece of profit, has broken me as a human being and has made this process such a difficult one to have faith in and trust others, after meeting Chella.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Dot Com Infoway could have done differently?
Everything. When something is based on a lie then nothing pure can grow from it and this project more than any required a pure connection, which was the very agreement this man claimed to make.

The vendor responded on January 31, 2024. We are shocked to see such a review from this reviewer. We started our collaboration with this reviewer back in July 2016 as a simple survey website and quoted accordingly. On finalising, we shared a scope document to ensure we are on the same page. He started introducing many new features and demanded us to do it for the same quote. When we tried to explain he wasn’t ready to understand or even listen.
The entire scoping process took 9 months which include various versions of SOW and even wireframes and still the scope is not yet finalised.
During this agonising process, this reviewer remained hours and hours of calls wherein he would not talk about the scope but how bad the world has become and how this world failed him etc. When we tried to channelise the discussion to scope he was extremely abusive. He also started making illogical requests such as a need for loading the site with data of the entire world leaders from Presidents to DAs which has to be updated automatically. When we said it is not possible and the data has to be updated manually he started demanding a refund.
We have also informed this reviewer multiple times that the efforts we have spent on just the scoping project is already more than the money he has paid.
