What specific goals or objectives did you hire Dot Analytics to accomplish?
Now we are in the process of scaling our marketing campaigns. We started to spend more money on marketing and we were looking for an instrument which will show us what our campaigns are profitable and what didn’t. What was also important for us is understanding how the prediction algorithm works inside and what is the logic behind the prediction. So we hired Dot Analytics guy’s to make those algorithm for us and launch it on our Google Cloud.

One data analyst, Anton H., worked mainly on the prediction algorithm and the dashboard. And one more data analyst, Ihor Syzon, made the roadmap, worked with GCP infrastructure and Vertex AI. We say thank you, since we get the dashboard where we see the accurate proceeds prediction by campaign, country and media source.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The script was launched on our Vertex AI. The analysts helped us to schedule the daily refresh of the prediction algorithm which save results to BigQuery tables. Then Looker Studio takes data from those BigQuery tables and shows the forecast in the dashboard with 4 filters.

The workflow was smooth. We added Ihor Syzon to our Slack, and had meetings via Google Hangouts. We appreciate that they can manage themselves without extra supervision.

I'm a director at Aim44 Limited; a professional services consultancy specialising in delivering video streaming strategy, design and integration of cloud based streaming services to broadcasters.

For what projects/services did your company hire Dot Analytics?

Aim44 Limited partnered with Dot Services to integrate Conviva’s streaming analytics platform into the itv data ecosystem, which was focused in the first instance on Splunk logs, Google Analytics and BigQuery tables. At the outset, it was clear that the team faced a series of challenges regarding streaming data analytics and data based decision making:

• Only the service delivery department understood how the streaming data should be formatted
• Only the service delivery department understood errors and inconsistencies in the data
• Other departments were unable to make decisions based on the data without the direct involvement of the service delivery department to provide the insights

The challenge was to bring order and transparency to this data and drive adaptation and utlisation of this data across departments at itv.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

ITV was looking for a data analytics service provider strong track record in data optimisation, utlilising tools such as BigQuery, SQL, Data Studio. Along with the provision of specialist data analytics services, the service provider was expected to engage regularly with internal stakeholders through online meetings; gathering requirements, explaining complex concepts in easy to understand ways. Comprehensive English language proficiency and excellent communication skills were essential pre-requisites.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

The first phase, conducted as a proof of concept (POC), ran over eight weeks with three main objectives: Integrate Stream Sensor into a defined subset of players, measure the quality of the data, and finally compare the data between the old and new systems. The conclusion of the POC was successful and gave ITV the basis to sign a long term contract with Conviva and thus continue with the integration work.

The second phase was devoted to integration of the Ads data with the Conviva platform and substitution of the Splunk alerts by Conviva alerts. AI and Manual alerts help to eliminate manual search for errors; therefore it was crucial this process be codified. The goals of the third phase was to educate the employees from other departments to use Conviva independently of the service delivery department and set up the weekly errors reporting process.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

One data analyst on the itv side worked full time on data comparison issues and errors analysis. Providing assistance to anyone in the team with questions related to the Conviva service.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Conviva successfully integrated into the itv data ecosystem; substituting the old system in terms of alerting, reporting and analysis to the degree that the service delivery department and other departments started to use it in their own analysis and reporting. This state is a qualitative step forward from the previous state where departments outside of data analytics did not have access to this data to drive their decision making.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The majority of communication was conducted through Slack, along with weekly meetings with the principal data analyst at itv.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their data analyst has the capability and understanding to operate proactively and autonomously. Ihor was thus able to set prioritisations and schedules, deliver the implementation and get around issues without requiring extensive external input.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We are very happy with the results of the work delivered by Dot Analytics and hope to continue working with them on future projects.
