Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the executive director of Tualatin Together.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Dogpaw Studio, and what were your goals?

We hired Dogpaw Studios to help us reimagine our nonprofit website in order to drive more traffic, better engage users and be a resource for youth and families in our community looking for ways to create resilience building into their everyday lives.

SOLUTION

How did you select Dogpaw Studio and what were the deciding factors?

We were searching for a new look and feel for our site and really didn't know much more than what we didn't want our site to be and feel like. After learning more at the Tualatin Chamber about how Dogpaw Studios specifically engages with and coaches nonprofit organizations to achieve their goals, we knew we needed to get uncomfortable answering the hard questions Dogpaw staff asked, to achieve our goals.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We had a kick-off meeting, several message framing/vision defining training sessions, informational design meetings, overall goal definition and timelines meetings that moved our work forward. The scope of work from our perspective evolved as we learned from Chijo and staff personally as well as tools they gave us to dive deeper into our message, the lay out, etc., in order to produce the best possible website for our needs.

How many people from the Dogpaw Studio team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We mainly worked with the director Chijo and in the final detail design part an additional designer. We also have support from a technical personal as needed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After launching we have had an increase in traffic. We launched our site in stages and are still working with Dogpaw on our schedule to get additional needs met. We are very pleased we are doing it in phases as our work has evolved and how we do it so having a web designer/partner in this work ensures we will meet our needs and the needs of the community.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Communication tools include email; an easy calendaring system to schedule meetings; an entire dashboard we were trained on to view the timeline and easily track it. As a non-tech savvy organization, it was a good wakeup to learn a new skill to track and easy to learn.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We found the unique way Dogpaw Studios works with nonprofits to really ask the foundational questions, challenging and exactly what we needed. Making sure we dug deep enough into our mission and vision as we reemerged in a new look, new and more inclusive set of skills and resources we work to offer, was all pivotal for our organization.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We believe this was a great experience and us being better prepared is the only thing that could have improved the experience.
