DigitlHaus performed SEO, UI/UX audits, and offered a comprehensive report on what is working well, what needed improvement. From there, we were able to work with DH directly to determine what aspects of the report should be prioritized. When we provided them our list of desired improvements, they offered cost estimates up front before starting the project. 

Their design team worked with us to create a refreshed and more user friendly look and feel on our site. Their project managers were very helpful at keeping us on task and moving forward. Once were felt comfortable with design and function updates, we approved for their development team to move forward on implementation. 

Occasionally the design and dev needed a few tweaks and itereations - these requests and changes have always been met with support and respect for our needs. DigitlHaus has also been doing our site theme updates a few times per year for the last several years.

Having a dedicated point of contact / project manager is fantastic and the support team around him is also very helpful and quick to respond if needed. They are great to work with and are always on top of things.

Are there any areas for improvement or something DigitlHaus Agency could have done differently?

When we first started working with DH years ago, it took awhile for us to figure out how to effectively use them to complete big projects. For small design tweaks, sometimes there is a little more process than it's work (having to request a quote and have a SOW written up and approvals etc. before they can make a simple change such as "can this button be blue". I understand they have their process and overall it is a better way to do big projects!

We hired DigitlHaus to help do some website fixes, run 404 error reports and restructure a few of our pages. Since then we have hired them several times for small projects. They restructured out blog page, made a few small changes to our menu and helped to create a seamless form for customers to inquire about camera rentals. In this project we hoped to make information more accessible to visitors, and make our rental form work better.

Precision Camera has been using Digitlhaus since before I have been working here. We know that they are quick communicators and that they are very reliable so we have chosen to continue working with them for numerous projects.

We reached out via email and they sent us a scope of work document, we agreed on what changes were needed and Digitlhaus completed each task in a timely manner.

We worked with a project manager, a tech strategist, a creative director and the president of sales and operations on our site support projects.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our rentals department has consistently had a 40% increase in inquiries since the project, showing that the rental form is working well. Our blog page has also had an increase of users plus more site interactions per user visiting that page.

Larger decisions were made with both teams via email, smaller project activity was run through Basecamp. They were extremely timely and were quick to give me an email if I missed a basecamp notification.

Their communication skills stand out the most. They kept us in the loop upon decisions and completion of each task. The second most impressive thing was timeliness. They always give us a timeframe and stick to it.

I’m the digital strategist for Red Apple Fireworks. We’re a premier fireworks brand in the US. We do a lot of exclusively private-label fireworks.

It’s a family business, but I was brought on by one of the brothers to help with an e-commerce site. He wanted to bring their products online with a striking website that allowed for shipping fireworks and in-store pickup.

Before I came on board, the first site was built on Magento 2. It turned into a challenging project for a small team. We did well with our first season, but we saw a lot of shortcomings with the platform and its design.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We approached them with a rough Photoshop outline that included what we felt were some of the best features of top tier e-commerce sites. We asked for them to infuse the rough outlay with something original in terms of design and colors. 

Our product box graphics are some of the best in the industry, so we wanted a site that could match the striking parts of our products. The team worked on the front and backend of the site.

I was tasked with researching SaaS e-commerce platforms. We decided that BigCommerce was the best fit. After deciding on the platform, I looked at the providers that could build a new website.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The first set of work was finished in April 2019. We delayed launching the site because we’re a small team and wanted to work on it more during the offseason. It launched a year later. Subsequently, we’ve upgraded the site with traffic optimization and other features.

We’ve been tracking the metrics. Our conversion rate increased by 275%. We’ve had increases in revenue, traffic, and users. We went from the Magento 2 platform that had a decent design to the BigCommerce platform with an industry-leading web site built on top of that. We’ve seen our customer base resonate with the new design.

How did DigitlHaus Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

I feel like DigitlHaus Agency went above and beyond, doing an impressive job. They’re upfront with pricing. I’m very particular with my e-commerce development and design background. I would throw quite a few items at them in terms of frontend design, and they were cool with doing that.

DigitlHaus Agency felt passionate about the project. It was a good challenge for all of us to get out of our comfort zones. We were trying to do something profound in our industry for a relatively small budget, and they stepped up to the plate and delivered on that.  

They use Basecamp for updates and comments. We reply through that. We did email if needed, but it’s largely through that one system.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re particularly good at listening to what the client wants. I’ve noticed that in some cases, firms have expectations of what the client should already have, even if that’s not what the customer wants. DigitlHaus Agency’s team listened to our team’s input.

One of our co-founders wanted a striking, bold color theme. They listened to that, taking that idea to match it well with fireworks.

For the BigCommerce platform, we were doing things that not a lot of companies have done before. They were willing to put in the time to research how certain things were possible and go that extra mile to accomplish that. For some requests, they’re honest about it not working well. We needed that candidness.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They may want to use more phone calls rather than Basecamp. I always like to talk to people on the phone, but it can take a lot of their time. So that might be a decision for them when considering deadlines. Other than that, I was genuinely impressed with what they’re able to do.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Provide as much of what your vision for that website should be to them. They’re great at finding the most valuable parts and delivering a product that exceeds your expectations. Don’t be scared to reference other websites and create basic mockups. We were very detailed, and they weren’t overwhelmed by that.

What was the scope of their involvement?

DigitlHaus Agency helped us create a website that would provide a better shopping experience for our customers. The team handled the pre-design and strategy phases. Then, they designed the home page, collection page templates, and master landing page template.

After that, they moved on to the pre-development phase. From there, they did the frontend and backend development, custom features, and custom apps. The team also did quality assurance and testing. They coordinated meetings with any third-party services we needed, such as Gorgias and Return Logic. They also assisted in providing information regarding these additional services.

We had one main contact, Hannah (Project Manager), and several others who worked along with her on various parts of the project.

We found them through a referral from Shopify. We chose them because they were the best fit for what we needed. It is hard to find quality design/development agencies that work with Bigcommerce stores. It's common for the initial design to look good but when it comes down to the details, there can be a lot to be desired. I came upon a store that DH designed and was immediately struck by how nicely it was designed and developed through and through.

Occasionally there were some communication issues between myself, the project manager, and the developers (you do not communicate with the devs directly), but nothing major.
