I'm the owner of a digital marketing agency. We focus on small and mid-size businesses for primarily SEO, PPC, and Web Design.

I was having a hard time seeing any ROI with my previous SEO partner company. So, I set out to find a consultant that I could work closely with, and that would communicate well with me.

I've spoken to many different SEO companies and freelancers in the past. When I came across Digital Ducat's and the owner Christian, I saw a very good and immediate difference in the communication style and thought process going into the planning for a project.

The first projects were a brand new client with no SEO history to speak of and a longtime client who's SEO wasn't purposeful and lacked attention to detail.

We had several discovery calls with my clients and Digital Ducat's spent a good amount of time learning their businesses and understanding their key metrics for success. They were able to uncover some really important insights for growth that we hadn't thought of. They took the information and looked at data to create a very specific plan to help my clients to begin making progress to rank for their most valuable keywords.

I've worked with three folks directly from the Digital Ducat's team. Christian, who is an SEO expert, and two web developers on his team. We did a website redesign on the longtime client I mentioned above.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The campaigns are still young, three and four months old. However we're seeing traffic increases of 15% to 40% on many pages and we're ranking better and better for very important keywords. Many are already on page one and page 2 in this short amount of time. We've also seen one of my clients most competitive and profitable keyword on the first page of Google and maintaining that.

The communication has been key to my relationship with Digital Ducats and my clients excellent progress. Open communication is great. We utilize phone calls, emails, and texts for talking, and they provide me monthly reporting along with a breakdown of what all the metrics represent, and a summary of my clients progress positive and negative.

They're very straightforward with their ideas and explanation of their methodology, and the summaries are fantastic to relay to my clients. Sort of a "highlight" reel of sorts.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Digital Ducat's attention to detail is super impressive. I can tell they truly have a passion for their craft and for helping people's businesses succeed. The amount of research and outbound link building effort is second to none in my opinion.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

None that I can speak to.

We’ve noticed an increase in engagement since we started working with them — our phone has been ringing more! Also, when we ask new clients how they got to us, they say that it was online. Overall, we’re convinced that maximizing our online presence with them was wise because we’ve noticed a substantial difference through their service.

Project management has been fantastic, and we haven’t had any issues. In terms of communication, we use email, phone calls, and occasional in-person meetings.

Their services have been far superior to what other providers did for us in the past.

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on — their work has been excellent so far because we see results.

We first interviewed (4) agencies. Christian and Digital DuCats stood out among all of them! His patience, follow up and detail to expectations is outstanding. We originally were looking for an SEO launch and simultaneously had him review our current web site and revise, enhance, and complete his magic. Current project is a highly interactive, working SEO program with tremendous information about our services, locations and unbelievable navigation.

Christian's style, experience, attitude, excitement and forsite led the pack! He is very easy to deal with. Always follows up timely and continues to work for us as if he were on Frontier's payroll! Its not all about the invoices to him. it's about the creativity and style and movement that one can be proud of.

Our engagement started with discovery and learning our industry and what we do each and every day. Once he had a grasp on what we did, he moved to creative and suggestions. Every step of the way, he explained the importance of text, movement, creativity, photos, and navigation in making our site something we are ALL proud of.

Christian was the main face to us! and that's a plus, we never had to explain strategies over and over or make sure the new person to the team understood our vision. He grabbed my thoughts, ideas and creativity and molded it into our site today!

Since the inception of the SEO Launch and revised Web designs, we have exponentially added over $ 1.2 M in new business development from Web requests coming in daily. He shoots us a report card monthly and suggests different programs and market alignments to create even higher responses and movement of our google searches to the top of the lists.

Digital Ducats Inc. helped us with SEO and web design. Once they finished with our SEO, they showed me how to navigate WordPress, changing content and adding images. The team helped to give me ideas of how the site should look. They helped organize the site and its content.

I worked with one main point of contact. He really got deep into explaining and how he can help my business.

Within two weeks, I started getting traffic and had my first customer. It started to grow from there. Now I have a ton of repeat retail customers.

Our site was initially on the first page of search results, but it was result number 5 or 6. He mentioned if I wanted to be up top in that area, I’d have to do more work. I plan on working with them again in January.

I'm a co-owner of Canadian Home Leisure, a retail store on the outskirts of Toronto. We do hot tubs, pool tables, barbecues, patio furniture, awnings, and other leisure products.

We were trying to make our way to the top and be noticed on people’s searches for hot tubs. 

Our company has different advertising channels, such as print, radio, online, social media, and SEO, but our online presence is more important than anything nowadays. We hired Christian (Founder & SEO Consultant) to help us with that.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we hired Christian to do SEO for one of our products. We started with hot tubs, and then we switched to pool tables since we’re not as busy with hot tubs this time of year. In February, we’re probably switching back to hot tubs to give it another go.

We’ve only been working with Christian. 

How did you come to work with Digital Ducats Inc.?

Christian was a referral from a mutual friend, and we thought we'd try him. We had some bad luck with some SEO companies in the past; we didn’t see results, and communication wasn’t there. Christian came into our office and made a proposal for us. 

He went through his business model and plan to improve the notoriety and exposure we have online. We liked some of the things he said, so we hired him.

We’ve probably spent around $10,000 so far. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We brought him in February 2020, and we’re still working with him.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

To be quite honest, because everybody’s staying at home this year, more people are investing in their homes. We saw a huge increase in site traffic and potential hot tub buyers.

We’ve been ranking better, so more people have seen us from the work that Christian has been doing. However, the results are very hard to tell. This year's improved business has something to do with Christian, but it’s also because of market conditions. 

He’s certainly very hands-on. Some of the strategies he uses are quite effective, including the blog posts tied to our social media to improve rankings. He also ties our store events to our products. 

It’s worked out, and I feel comfortable with him. I haven’t felt this comfortable with another company, to be honest. We've worked with other companies in the past, and we had mixed results. 

How did Digital Ducats Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

He’s been quite good and able to shift from one product to another, which I know could be frustrating when a lot of work is done with one particular product. The transition seems to be quite good, and he’s got a different challenge on his hands. 

He hasn’t been on-site for obvious reasons. We communicate through emails and phone calls three times a month to talk about what he’s doing and why he’s doing it. There’s been a little bit of interaction with people in the organization, such as my business partners, but he primarily interacts with me. 

We also worked with another company to rebuild the website since the programming language wasn’t working out with the SEO. Christian collaborated with them to improve what he was doing. There were a lot of hiccups along the way, but he was quite good with contacting and working with them. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

His communication is impressive. If I have an idea of what we could be doing better or something that could help Christian do his job better, we definitely communicate about that on an ongoing basis. That’s really the difference between Christian and other companies that we’ve worked within the past. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We’re not number one all the time, but that’s something you constantly have to battle in the industry. Other than that, there’s nothing else. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Put out your plan and what you’re trying to achieve and some things that have not worked for you in the past. Put it out on the table for Christian so that he’s able to gather information and absorb it to do his job a little bit better.
