During regular weekly meetings, they reported back to us on their progress and sent us complete candidate recommendations. The candidates they sent us have set the bar very high. We had many problems during our own internal recruitment process. The candidates we were interviewing were not up to our standards. I’ve heard of DevsData through a few friends from the industry, so I reached out to them.

I had a meeting with Radek and Natalie, who asked detailed questions about the desired candidates, and when they had a good understanding of who we were looking for, they started their vetting process. We had weekly update calls, and after about 3 or 4 weeks, they came to me with the first recommended candidate. I got handed a profile of the candidate, a briefing from his algorithmic tests and from the technical interview - the information was very detailed. We had our own internal technical interview, and he was passed it really well. All 2 of the developers we hired were not only exceptional engineers, but they also had great communication skills. It was the whole package. They gave me a 3-month guarantee if, for some reason, I decided that they did not fit in the company, but I had no need of exercising this right.

As I said, they gave us all the materials, notes and comments they had created during the technical vetting process of a given candidate. The weekly calls kept me in the loop until we got profile recommendations. I think our cooperation has been very efficient and I love it.

Considering how long we were looking for candidates on our own, the whole process was rapid. The time in which they were able to deliver the candidates was incredible. They started the conversation with a profound understanding of my business needs. We divided the project into three phases so that the progress could be more granular. I spoke with the company's representatives on a daily basis and their willingness to precisely understand my needs is what really resonated with me. I signed a senior Front-End developer with React and a senior UI/UX designer for the project.
They created initial low-fidelity mockups for the new website and gathered feedback very frequently, which I really appreciate. The first phase (finished design) was completed in under two weeks and shortly after, we moved forward with the next phases. The website is really fast and looks appealing. They were very quick in implementing the tweaks I requested and presented a proactive approach throughout the process to make recommendations for further improvements.

I found them through a friend’s recommendation, we had a meeting and based on their portfolio, they’ve done numerous similar projects in the past, so I was confident in their ability to deliver.

After the referral we exchanged a few emails back and forth. I told them exactly what I was looking for and they showed me their past projects, which were similar to mine - they’ve not only done website redesigns, but also e-commerce website redesigns, which was perfect for our collaboration. After I was pretty much convinced by them we scheduled a meeting and talked more about the idea, one of their in-house engineers described to me how the implementation would work, how many working hours would be needed, etc. We signed the contract and after a week or so, they sent the profiles of the recommended candidates for the project - one front-end developer and one graphic designer. I interviewed them, but I could not check their technical skills, however the technical lead from DevsData assured me of their expertise and I was given a guarantee of the project deliverance, so I felt pretty safe. Not that the guarantee was needed, because those candidates were very capable and finished the redesign on time. They were working on a half-time basis and the whole project was done in about 6 weeks. During the project itself I had contact directly with the candidates, they were communicative and designed everything exactly the way I wanted them to, without any bugs or issues.

Our in-house recruitment process was taking too long and we were in danger of losing potential clients because we did not have enough manpower. I started looking for an agency to help us conduct the process and found DevsData. Once we had those, DevsData began the process and every week we received updates about how the process was going during our catch-up call. They presented the candidates that were faring well on their tests and interviews but insisted on finishing the whole recruitment before recommending anyone.
After about 4-5 weeks we got the recommendation for the ML Lead and in 3 more weeks we also had all other positions filled. I interviewed each person personally about their motivations, communications skills and so on, and my CTO checked their technical knowledge. We had no issues with any of the candidates and signed every one of them. The candidates proposed to us by the other competing agency were not up to our standards, so I was all the more pleased with DevsData.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
First I talked to Radek, Alexandra and Paulina, who led the whole recruitment process. DevsData’s technical interviewer was named Nikita if I am not mistaken, and those were all the people I had contact with, though I am aware that the entire team working on our process was bigger, that’s why they were able to sort through so many candidates so quickly.
There were at least two other technical interviewers and two or three people worked on the CV pre-screening phase, because that’s what I saw in our updates - we received all the data gathered on the candidates and each step was signed by the person who conducted it.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?
We hired all the recommended engineers on the first try and, except for one Data Annotation specialist, they are still working at our company. The Machine Learning Lead more than lived up to my expectations - he turned out to be an invaluable asset and has led our most challenging and profitable projects.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The whole cooperation was very smooth, we received our weekly updates and just waited for the most promising candidates to finish the entire process. We were also given all the data, notes and interview transcripts with comments about every candidate. The process was very transparent and we could see why each candidate was rejected or how our potential future hires were doing on their algorithmic tests. All in all, I would definitely classify the workflow between our teams as effective and very fruitful.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Taking into account that we ourselves could not find the right candidates for our company and neither could the other recruitment agency, I was very impressed with DevsData’s ability to find exceptional candidates where others failed. They have really proved their worth and have shown me that my company’s money is really well spent.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I'm very satisfied with DevsData, our recruitment efforts have scaled up since then and I'll continue recommending them to other technology companies I know.

We hired DevsData because we wanted to ensure hiring the best possible people for our open positions. We trusted their industry experience in conducting rigorous recruitment and tasked them with hiring four developers for a new team in our company.
What were your goals for this engagement?
We needed to hire two senior node.js developers, one senior DevOps and one junior frontend React developer. They were going to be the core of a new division in our company.

How did you select DevsData LLC?
We’ve recruited people in the past, however, we had no experience with recruiting whole teams. We did not want to leave the process to chance, so we reached out to a recruitment agency. I’ve heard about DevsData through a friend of mine so I thought I’d give them a shot and scheduled a meeting. They showed me what projects they’ve worked on in the past, the type of people they’ve recruited. They had experience in this field, so I was happy to hire them and let them lead the process.

After the initial call, we had a meeting to discuss the profiles of the people we were looking for in detail. On our end, the meeting was led by the tech lead of the new division and on their side, there were two senior developers, both with more than 10 years of experience, and a business development specialist who was our contact person.
They asked a lot of questions in order to better understand our needs. After creating profiles for the candidates and agreeing on their contract terms (salary, vacation days, etc.), DevsData was ready to begin the recruitment process. Every week we had an update call to learn more about how the process is going. We had access to all the candidates’ CVs, their algorithmic tests, technical interviews, all the comments the interviewers made.
In the end, they came to us with their recommended candidates. We received descriptions with a brief of DevsData’s findings, but we were also free to look through everything they have gathered. We had our own technical interviews with each of the recommended people, but as it turned out, it was not needed. DevsData did an excellent job when vetting the candidates and our tech lead had no issues with any of them. We ended up hiring those developers and the newly founded team did very well inside our company.
What was the team composition?
The people I had contact with were the aforementioned two senior developers who helped us build the candidates’ profiles and the business development, specialist. I am sure outside of that there is also a whole recruiting team responsible for actually conducting the process and the HR interviews. And there must also be technical interviewers because the candidates' knowledge and skills were checked - we got their reports.

Obviously, they took our requirements into account and worked against them in the infrastructure they had created. They used the AngularJS framework during the project, along with many other modern tools.

Really effective, in my opinion, had no problems whatsoever. The project was done fast, and the communication was on point. At all times, I knew exactly what was being worked on. It is truly impressive how fast they were able to deliver the project. Working in sprints pushed the progress forward at an extreme pace, and, without a doubt, that was most impressive to me during the whole process. Another aspect is the appealing graphical outlook of the website - modern layout, flashy animations and responsive design. They even connect marketing tools to test and measure user behaviour as well as conversion rates on our target events resulting in a visible revenue increase for the business.
