BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am Marketing Manager at a Prague-based tech company. We are a creator of the software, whose mission is to help software developers stop writing boring repetitive code and rather use their time and skills to produce clean, reliable software that is easier to maintain.

We have clients worldwide, while more than 60% of our revenue comes from US-based clients. More than 10% of all Fortune 500 companies are using our service.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Design22, and what were your goals?

We are about to launch a brand new product in its line. Being a small company, we needed support in the branding process of the new product - from creating a brand identity from scratch to creating, designing a website and other supporting graphical materials.

How did you select Design22 and what were the deciding factors?

I have worked with Design22 at my previous job. She was always up to the task, proactive, reliable, taking ownership of her work, and constantly seeking ways to make improvements on whatever she's working. She was easy to communicate, empathetic, and highly skillful.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The project we employed her at my current position is at its very start so it is hard to write project steps A to Z. We did finish the first phase which was the creation of brand identity.

Design22 created a brand identity from scratch for our new product based on our briefing, interviews, and positioning documents that we have delivered to them. The company did manage to convey and live up to our expectations in this first phase.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

For this first phase, there was one person. Alena was in charge of design as well as project management. In the later phase, a web developer would be included to help with delivering a website based on Alena's web design.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The project is ongoing and the final output is still not visible. However, having completed the first phase - brand identity, everything went smoothly. After the initial briefing Design22 delivered 5 different brand options.

After the first round of feedback, Design22 iterated and in the second round, we already had the wanted output.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

Design22 met all the deadlines. There were no unexpected, unpleasant surprises. We used emails and mobile phones as a primary tool of communication taking into consideration that the project was not complex and that one person was involved in the work.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Alena really tries to understand the story behind, what is the reasoning for our decisions as well as the future plans. That indeed helped her to understand better our wishes, where we stand, and what we expect as output.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing significant that I can think of.
