OptiphoeniX is a conversion rate optimization (CRO) and A/B testing organization. We help online businesses grow through an increased understanding of user psychology and a data-based approach. I lead the technical team at the organization.

What challenge were you trying to address with Decabits Software?

We build several versions of websites and web apps for A/B testing, using tools like Optimizely. We rely on Decabits Software for occasional support with backend development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Decabits has provided backend development in React, AngularJS, PHP for WordPress, and other languages. They also work with us on projects of greater complexity.

A recent one was a banking calculator built in React. It was a three-week project, and Decabits developed it and deployed it to servers.

We’ve also done 2–3-week consulting projects with them. They’ve even helped us educate our clients on applications like Firebase.

What is the team composition?

We’ve interacted with 6–7 people from Decabits, including developers, project managers, and QA engineers.

How did you come to work with Decabits Software?

Their founder is a former colleague of mine. I knew about his company and approached him when I started my current role.

How much have you invested with them?

The monthly cost has been $1,500–$2,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in January 2019, and we’ve worked with Decabits on a continuous basis since then. They’re our technology partner, so we go to them for most of the work that comes to us.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve had a successful partnership so far. The team is responsible and takes complete ownership of the work we assign them. I’ve never heard a complaint from a client regarding the quality of their work. Decabits Software treats the work as though it was for their own clients. They’re meticulous in their documentation — meaning that all requirements and test cases are always listed properly — which also saves us time.

How did Decabits Software perform from a project management standpoint?

We use various project management tools internally, including Asana and Trello. Decabits is comfortable in adopting whatever tool we or our clients have in place. We use Skype and Slack for communication and call when necessary. The communication and project management has been pretty smooth on their end.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They take full ownership of the project, and they always come up with innovative solutions and workarounds when there’s a technical problem.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There have been things from time to time that they could’ve done better, but they always made improvements when I gave them my feedback. Overall, we’re happy and have no regrets.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

If the client has a web or app development need, they should share their problem with Decabits. They’ll always come up with multiple solutions.

I am the founder of Boolean Solutions and offer customized web development and consulting services for clients.

What were your goals for this project?

I need a platform where users can come and book meeting rooms for their offices. The interface needed to be responsive with support for office map.

Decabits Software have good expertise in web and mobile development and I've worked with them on multiple projects.

Decabits assisted by following agile practices and helping build the platform end-to-end. They provided good resources in React and NodeJS required for the development of the platform and assisted in integration with external APIs for the client

I hired 2 developers from them - frontend and backend and they also provided a QA to test the application continuously

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The client for which I hired Decabits is a very long running client of mine and we have been working together for a couple of years now. Hence, delivering good results was essential for me.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project management was mainly handled by our company while the internal management to build and deliver the project was handled by the Decabits itself. I had no issues with the management as the project was delivered within expectations

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They demonstrated their expertise in the web development space and were able to meet all the requirements described. The code quality was good and they provided good test coverage for the code which was greatly appreciated.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Everyone who has worked in IT industry knows bugs are part of every application you build. There may have been few instances where Decabits could have been a little more proactive with QA testing and helped find some bugs early. But since the project was built from scratch up, we had an understanding they bugs will come but will be resolved in a timely manner.

Wingify is a software company know for its flagship SaaS product called VWO. VWO is an experience optimization platform that helps marketers optimization their customer journey. I am leading Product Management team at VWO.

For what projects/services did your company hire Decabits Software?

We wanted to build an SDK for one of our products. This SDK required specialization in Ruby language which is why we hired Decabits to deliver it.

What were your goals for this project?

This would enable our customers who have their backend built on Ruby to start using one of our new products.

We have worked with Sahil ( owner of Decabits) in the past and we have had great experience working with him
