Datumo conducted a comprehensive review of our entire data flow, helping us identify bottlenecks and build a clear roadmap for the coming months. They provided actionable recommendations on BigQuery architecture, FinOps practices, simplifying our stack, and preparing for a full migration of databases to Google Cloud. Key deliverables included establishing BigQuery as our main production database, delivering high-quality documentation and diagrams, and offering practical guidance on tools such as Pub/Sub, Kafka, DBT, and Terraform. The collaboration was extremely valuable – we received tailored, pragmatic solutions that significantly streamlined our infrastructure.

1) BigQuery adopted as the main production database – already serving clients successfully.
2) Clear migration path away from on-premise PostgreSQL to Google Cloud – with strategy validated and migration plan in place.
3) Reviewed and optimized data flow architecture – with simplified processes and reduced complexity of the technology stack.
4) Actionable improvement proposals delivered – including BigQuery schema optimizations, FinOps introduction, and tooling guidance (Pub/Sub vs Kafka, DBT refactor tips, Terraform usage).
5) Comprehensive documentation and diagrams prepared – enabling the client’s team to implement changes more efficiently.

They consistently responded to our needs with tailored solutions rather than adding unnecessary complexity, which was especially important for us as a startup with limited resources.

Honestly, we couldn’t identify any significant areas for improvement in our collaboration with Datumo. The quality of materials, clarity of communication, and the way they tailored solutions to our specific context all exceeded our expectations.
