The scope of work was to survey 2000 consumers in the UK to identify specific trends relating to the cost of living crisis and property. Danebury supported us in formulating and finalising the survey questionnaire, taking it to market, analysing the results and presenting key findings that we could use for comms purposes.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The survey was produced on time, without delay, and within budget. It gave us the data points we needed to assess overall trends, on a national level, as well as compare regional differences. We achieved over 50 pieces of editorial coverage, including interest from the national media.

The project management was excellent. Great communication at all times. Regular updates on survey progression. We met both our deadlines and budgets.

The service was very personal - supporting us throughout the project with any question, and supporting us in formulating the questionnaire so as to generate the best results for our needs. Danbury conducted a consumer research study of 2000 UK homeowners on behalf of a client. The objective was to reveal the extent of the issues they were facing in relation to the cost of living crisis. Danbury delivered the results within a few days to enable us to launch the study as a major PR campaign attracting national and trade press coverage.

I've known the MD Paul for many years and so knew his team would do an excellent job and deliver on their promises. They did. They are highly responsive to any technical questions, always answering in a few hours. The team is also very knowledgeable about the PR process and so understood what we were trying to achieve and also the research process.

I am the director of a PR company that commissioned Danebury Research to undertake a B2B industry survey on behalf of my client

For what projects/services did your company hire Danebury?

My client recently began investing in marketing and public relations in the UK and was keen to understand where the team should focus its content marketing efforts. In particular, my client wanted to understand which media their prospective customers and partners use to research content management systems. It was advised that they undertake some market research to verify the media strategy in the UK.

How did you select this vendor?

After searching for potential market research partners, a colleague recommended that I speak to Paul, the founder and director of Danebury Research. Paul has more than twenty years' experience in the public relations industry during which time he managed international market research projects on behalf of his enterprise PR clients. This provides him with a blend of quantitative and qualitative research skills, combined with the ability to identify storylines within the data.

After an initial call to understand what my client was attempting to find out from the survey, Danebury undertook extensive research on my client's website to understand the company's product offering and current customer base. Using this information, they provided us with an outline questionnaire which we were able to tailor for our target market. My client was given ample opportunity to look over the questions, provide edits and request clarification on any points prior to the field work commencing.

We were given full support during this preparation period and I was really impressed at how responsive Paul and his colleague, June, were when we asked for any additional information, or edits to the questions. Once the questionnaire was approved, we were amazed at how quickly the team got to work on the survey and very impressed at the way were were kept updated on its progress.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within a week of starting the market research we had sufficient information to not only verify our UK media strategy, but also understand our client's true market position in the UK and the key drivers for CMS selection in the enterprise sector. In addition to confirming the media targets, the survey has revealed a number of sector-specific business storylines that we can incorporate into our 2023 PR strategy.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

During the discovery phase, Paul really impressed us with the level of research that he undertook to ensure that he completely understood my client's product and target market. June is a super efficient project manager who kept everything on track while the questionnaire was being finalised. This was extremely helpful for keeping my client informed and ensuring that everything was delivered in a very tight timeframe. Once the questionnaire had been approved by my client, June kept us regularly updated on the progress of the field work. This was a real collaboration between my company, my client, and Danebury Research.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

When introducing a new provider to a new client, there is always a level of nervousness. With Danebury, those concerns were immediately allayed. Right from the start of our media research project, I was impressed by the level of support and attention to detail that was provided by Paul and his team. From the design of the questionnaire to the swift and efficient way that the survey was conducted, this was a collaborative and enjoyable process from start to finish.

Paul and his team were highly responsive whenever my client had a query and provided excellent suggestions on how to construct the questionnaire so that it delivered the data we required to develop our campaign in time for the new year. Paul even took the trouble to suggest some PR storylines based on the key findings. I would not hesitate to recommend Danebury Research to my clients and will definitely be using this super slick service again.

No, I found the process of working with Paul Stallard and the Danebury Research team to be highly efficient, while also being friendly.

Our sales team now have a playbook, designed around the research carried out; leading to increased awareness in region, along with solid foundations for meaningful opportunities.
