They initially provide one resource and then expanded to include an additional resource. They worked on providing improvements to our Kubernetes stack that is deployed on AWS, Azure, GCP and OnPremise.

We discussed our project needs with our account manager, they provided us with a candidate. We interviewed the candidates and when a suitable candidate was found, we started them on a trial basis.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

With their support we were able to convert our infrastructure scripts to terraform / terragrunt, improve our helm charts to use helmfiles and to install Kubernetes on premise.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We took the approach of including the Dysnix resources as a part of our team. We included them in our all of our team meetings. We had great synergy working with their team. We were also able to create an environment where it seemed like we worked for the same company.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Dysnix did a really good job of vetting the resources they assigned to our team. The resources were knowledgeable, willing to share their knowledge, hard working and friendly.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The one thing I would change, would be to schedule montly one on ones with the account manager to sync of on the project and resource progress.

We brought in Dysnix for the consultancy, development, and further support of the infrastructure of the crypto-asset exchange. Dysnix had to develop a Kubernetes-based infrastructure from scratch in a short period of time — 1 month — for a quick start of the project. Also, the Dysnix team had to deploy the development and production environments with 30 services on Kubernetes as well as develop and run a CI/CD system. During the project maintenance (support) period, tasks expanded and Dysnix had to launch several new environments, and the number of project services increased to 70.

Our colleagues in the crypto industry recommended Dysnix for the implementation of our project as a really reliable partner. We tried to work with Dysnix team on an outsourcing model and concluded that this model of partnership suits us better than having in-house engineers only.

The Dysnix team successfully built a highly-available, secure, and scalable Kubernetes-based server infrastructure and also conducted an Infrastructure Cost Optimization by 40-50 percent. Their engineers offered and implemented the Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, full Deployment of services as Code using Helm and Helmfile, and a fully automated CI/CD system using CloudBuild.

Moreover, Dysnix designed and set up basic monitoring and alerting systems with custom business metrics. They also designed and implemented a custom solution to get a high-available scalable Ethereum JSON-RPC&Websockets service.

Their DevOps team provided continuous mentorship and consultancy of the in-house tech team. Together with the in-house team, Dysnix continues supporting the project with a high response time for events.

We would like to note a high level of SLA provided. Also, the Dysnix team showed the high speed and quality of development and implementation of new features of the crypto-asset exchange. We, as a customer, are very pleased the Dysnix team made our product fault-tolerant.

The in-house and Dysnix teams have operated in the best possible way. Sometimes, it even seems that Dysnix is a ​​part of the in-house team because of its deep involvement in the project.

Dysnix engineers impressed us with their strong expertise in GCP, Kubernetes, and Blockchain technologies. In fact, you always have access to the whole pool of engineers who help each other, share their expertise, and in the end, the result is super-effective.

We realized that the work is fulfilled much better when there is a contractor team that is ready to participate in any work at any time and make up for the lack of expertise that the in-house team does not possess.

We hired Dysnix for one of our client's projects that have grown by 5 times during the last year and required the highest level of DevOps expertise with a focus on Kubernetes. We needed to get cloud consultancy and carry out a complete migration of the project to Kubernetes; increase fault-tolerance of infrastructure using Kubernetes; reduce time-to-market, and also achieve it as secure as possible.

First of all, Dysnix contacted me 6 months before we really needed and just thought about migration to Kubernetes. I assumed that we could need to implement this in the future. At that time we collaborated with one DevOps company from Minsk that provided us with a DevOps engineer. Soon he left the company, and we needed to find a new partner for implementing our plans. So, I communicated with several DevOps companies.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We started with one platform and system and now their number is 5. We see that our client is easily scaling. We're working on 5 different projects that we started from scratch, and the Dysnix team helped us to build all the development environments.

Their main task is to be responsible for all processes from the development to production environments. The Dysnix team has managed to reduce time-to-market by up to 5 times. I have to say everything is working pretty well. We expanded the team and we managed to deliver 3 projects successfully.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Previously we did have some management issues on our side. We were not satisfied with the performance of our previous project manager, so he left the project in November 2020. Despite that situation, we got some new inquiries from the client. I had a call with Dysnix that agreed to perform them. The client and his in-house team enjoyed working with Dysnix. All the processes were well defined, and I have to note that this client has got 40-45 years of experience in the field of Information Technology.

Since the previous project manager left the project. Dysnix team has changed a lot of things in the course of the project and it works much better now.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I'm not involved in the daily work of all the projects and I see great results. Usually, I insert myself into projects when something goes wrong. Talking about those on which Dysnix works, I've not been involved at all. So this means everything works perfectly. What I'm impressed by is not only the quality of services they provide but that these guys always have a very simple answer, solution for any issue. We've never had any problems. The Dysnix engineers care about problems outside working hours.

The most impressive thing about working with Dysnix is ​​its responsiveness. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of their response time. I’ve had the experience of working with other DevOps engineers and it was a very different situation.

I’m Alex Gluchowski, the Co-Founder & CEO at Matter Labs. Matter Labs is a Company that strives to provide an open and free alternative to its existing, deeply flawed financial system. We've developed and successfully launched zkSync - a trustless L2 scaling solution to enable the mass adoption of public blockchains.

The solution is a remedy for the growing problem of unreliable and expensive transactions on the Ethereum blockchain due to sky-high gas fees. The project was backed by Ethereum Foundation. Now, zkSync can process more than 200 transactions per second, which is comparable to transaction volumes routinely processed by PayPal. The product has an upgradable nature and will be able to increase processing speed to be comparable with Visa over the next few months.

For what projects/services did your company hire Dysnix?

We hired the Dysnix team to promptly scale the server infrastructure of our product that was successfully launched in June 2020. Dysnix developed the infrastructure extremely fast with the highest security level and custom, cost-effective auto-scaling based on the unique product metrics.

It was crucial for us that the infrastructure could withstand higher peak load. On the results of load tests, the Dysnix team successfully met the requirements/tasks.

What were your goals for this project?

The company reconsidered the strategy of the mainnet beta launch of zkSync to build a highly-loaded, highly-secure, and scalable server infrastructure and DevOps methodology in a short term. We planned to scale from the project beginning but not right after the product launch, but on the current infrastructure. The Dynix team proved that it would be more efficient to launch with a complete solution and implemented it lightning fast.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

From the first dialogue, Dysnix exceeded our expectations of working with a contractor. In the first very consultation, the team proposed the best possible architecture solution, which was eventually implemented in the production.

The engineers also developed a custom auto-scaling solution and built 2 environments (Staging & Production), created and implemented a list of recommendations to achieve the highest level of fault-tolerance and security.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project implementation together with the Dysnix team, allowed us to release the product when it was completely ready for scaling. Due to the developed infrastructure and the custom auto-scaling solution, costs have significantly reduced compared to our plans originally.

Taking into account large volumes of transactions per second, this is a very considerable saving and one of the important factors for the company. We got the opportunity to achieve high profitability and significantly increase the competitiveness of the product due to the speed and security of the system.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The Dysnix team has a high level of professionalism in managing projects. Such indicators like high responsiveness, communication level, speed of task completion, bringing all cases about an outcome showed the team as a reliable partner.Dysnix continues supporting the project and we are satisfied with their work very much.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We set tasks, and in return, the Dysnix team offered us ideas that we couldn't even presuppose - variants for how to do this better. They implemented them very quickly, and everything worked perfectly. Thanks to the approach the Dysnix team suggested we could achieve maximum savings and competitiveness of the product added to the initial tasks of scaling and security. I was also impressed by the level of communication and responsiveness of the team - they responded very fast, and several times we had to ask them for help outside working hours, and all the tasks were solved.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Because the Dysnix team greatly exceeded our expectations, it is difficult for me to suggest ways for their work improvement.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m Dmytro Haidashenko, the CTO at Shelf.Network. Shelf Network is the company that developed and successfully launched an arbitrage network for cross border vehicle trades.

For what projects/services did your company hire Dysnix?

The in-house team required additional expertise in maintaining and monitoring the infrastructure and increasing the security level of the system. The Dysnix team provided support and initiated the optimization of infrastructure costs.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed to promptly give into somebody's hands the entire DevOps part of the project with the current working infrastructure to support. We considered that hiring an engineer was inappropriate. His workload would be uneven and this could affect the internal company's culture. Therefore, we decided to bring in an offshore specialized company.

How did you select this vendor?

First of all, our partners highly recommended Dysnix and we communicated personally with Dysnix’s founders several times before. During the negotiations, we had a very productive dialogue with the Dysnix team, everything was clear and to the point, and this accelerated our decision-making.

It was important for us to promptly give the DevOps part to specialists so that the development team would not distract from the production and would be engaged in the product development as well, while the production environment was always available.

Describe the project in detail.

Under the support agreement, the Dysnix team has conducted an Infrastructure audit and initiated a process of the current infrastructure optimization, developed a detailed action plan.

The team is also in charge of a solution development to resolve current issues connected with the server infrastructure operations. We are totally satisfied with the services provided by Dysnix.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Just during the first stage of the optimization plan, that was developed by Dysnix, and which took about a week, the team managed to reduce the cost by 25 percent. A further detailed plan for infrastructure optimization is now under consideration.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The most important factor from the management point of view for us was the response time. We wanted a lightning-fast reaction in case of unforeseen situations. In this regard the Dysnix team is an excellent partner. The DevOps engineers' work is organized in such a way that their response takes minimal time.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

All tasks are solved quickly and with short response time, which eventually minimizes time spent by the in-house team on management of the DevOps part.

The partnership with an offshore team became for us much more profitable than hiring a full-time specialist. We simply give all current or urgent tasks to the guys from Dysnix and they quickly solve them. I really like this. My Shelf.Network team and I have more time to focus on product development. It is very important for us.

Also, under the support contract, the Dysnix team proposed solutions to optimize the existing server infrastructure. I also like this proactive approach to work.

Are there any areas for improvement?

As a person who works on the product, I know there is always something to improve. I am generally satisfied with the work of the Dysnix team.

At the same time, being a CTO I would like not to spend my time on the management of the Devops part at all and want to be involved exclusively with the product development. In all fairness it has to be said that we have already got a proposal from Dysnix to expand our collaboration to cover the Devops part entirely by an offshore team.
