• Migration project - This project required 7 Cyber Pro Human Capital, 5 Data Engineers, 1 Project Manager, 1 Data Architect in order to migrate all Risk assets from Microsoft APS to Amazon Web Services and to Redshift Postgresql Data Warehouse. The need for CyberPro contractors with Capitec Bank, ramped up tremendously, as the scope expanded based on ongoing analysis. CyberPro's engineers were of absolute excellent quality, and Shiyaam Harte from CyberPro was a phenomenal account manager with Capitec Bank, and still is.
• Building data pipelines from on-premise to AWS Cloud to DW: This involved building the pipelines to ingest data from on-premise MS SQL servers to our EDL Data Lake and then shipping this data to our Risk Schema. Excellent work done here as well, perfect talent chosen by CyberPro and recommended for the job.
• Regulatory Submissions: This is still an ongoing function, and the Data Engineers and architect that still remains for the daily Regulatory Submissions as well as Risk Returns to the SARB, is of excellent quality, same engineers that has joined since the migration. They have saved the bank millions of rands each quarter. Again, high commendation to CyberPro on the quality of their engineers.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

1. Migration project was 100% success.
2. Data Pipelines ran sealessly and engineers actually created new patterns that were recommended to Enterprise.
3. Ongoing gains of atleast R50m per annum by timeliness with the regulatory submissions.

The Project Manager did a stellar job with being able to track progress, recommend priority based on availability of the platforms, understood the tech stack, communciated really well with stakeholders, kept the team on track, negotiated timelines when required, and definitely met the needs of the project. 

There were so many moving parts, but all was orchestrated in a professional manner and with clear experience by the project manager.

Migration was a success, no assets that were agreed to be migrated were left behind or history lost on migration.
