I’m the founder and owner of Shareforce, a small IT consulting company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Crunch?

I hired Crunch for help with custom frontend development. We previously worked with an offshore company but had a few misunderstandings. We wanted to work with a vendor closer in location.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our company took designs completed in Sketch and InVision and then passed them onto Crunch to code the frontend of our WordPress site.

What is the team composition?

My primary contact is the owner of Crunch. He takes my requirements and distributes it to a frontend developer. If there are questions, I hear directly from the developer.

How did you come to work with Crunch?

I found various companies on a hiring platform and received applications a year ago. While I was in contact with Crunch, I went with another partner. When that didn’t work out, I came back to the team at Crunch.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent €1,200 (approximately $1,371 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Crunch in October 2018, and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our engagement is satisfying. I can pass the tasks to them, and they take care of everything with minimal involvement from my team.

How did Crunch perform from a project management standpoint?

I never worry that Crunch will miss a deadline. They manage the project excellently. Communication is seamless. We use Slack. I can contact them on the weekends and receive feedback within a few hours.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed with how effortless working with Crunch is. With previous companies I’ve worked with, I had a massive amount of corrections, but with Crunch, it’s the opposite. Their work is high quality. I’m encouraged to outsource more projects with Crunch.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there are none that I can think of.

I’m a Project Manager in a company specializing in booking meeting places online.

For what projects/services did your company hire Crunch?

We needed to add some knowledgeable talents to our team. Our startup was to create web and mobile platforms that will allow people to make reservations about meeting spaces.

SOLUTION

How did you select this agency and what were the deciding factors?

We couldn't hire anyone in our country with our tight startup budget, so we looked for an offshore or near-shore staff instead. Technical ability, project experience, and pricing were the most important criteria for us.

Crunch developers operate our Web and mobile apps together with our in-house team, as well as our B2B connections and the system integrations we're conducting with third parties. After development and release, the maintenance from their side is still ongoing.

We had only Juniors in the project on our end, so we got 2 Senior JS developers from their side. They helped our Juniors grow. Later we added their two AQAs to the team as well.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

We have a growing presence in our market, and we are probably one of the most significant players in meeting room bookings on the internet. We're still a small market with limited competition so we'll be able to share real detailed outcomes when we grow bigger.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had meetings twice a week to make sure everybody stays on the same page. Their developers don't need long explanations — they quickly grasp the idea and go straight to work.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are open-minded when it comes to new ideas. We also liked that they have a personal approach to every client.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Just some minor delays due to the fact that they shared work with our team. I guess it won’t be a problem when we hire more of them as a dedicated team for our next project.

I’m the owner of the online school, which offers different English courses for all levels. We are in the market for 10 years, preparing students for international exams, improving their language skills for studying and working abroad.

For what projects/services did your company hire Crunch, and what were your goals?

We wanted to build an app for our students that could help them revise the material during the non-learning time. This was also intended to be the core of a new product version that would allow us to provide more contemporary usability with web and mobile clients, allowing us to expand faster and provide better services to our customers.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Our goal was to find a service provider who could supply us with a large team of highly trained engineers at a reasonable cost. We also wanted someone our size, since we wanted the project to be one of their larger jobs, so we could get senior management attention when necessary.

Their team built our software natively for iOS and Android. Our backend is written in Java, but we used HTML5 and JavaScript for web applications as well.

We had a 10-person team including Senior Java and JS developers working from their side and well as one QA.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The most significant result has been the growth of our product. Our revenue is based on its upkeep, therefore if our company's continued existence and expansion as a business are considered results, it's very successful. Crunch helps us now with maintenance as well.

We worked together using a structured agile approach. Although there were some unexpected drawbacks during the development process, we quickly solved them together.

Their ability to solve any problems as fast as they occur was impressive and we're very happy with the collaboration.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Nothing huge, just it would be nice if there weren’t any drawbacks during the development process. But I guess, a lot of projects undergo those.

I am the digital architect for this project. The solution creates an online based, process driven model for family mediation. The final product for this project will be initially distributed and utilized by 5 family law mediation firms within the State of Minnesota. The project has lots of room for additional feature add-ons and adjustments for client use.

Communication was excellent especially considering the impediments we all had to deal with COVID and related health issues over the past year.

Their flexibility is impressive

Because this project needed to stop and start, there were times we had to reorganize/re-start the project and those time periods could have gone quicker. However, they were handled within a reasonable amount time.
