There were two goals for the project with a staged development timeline. The initial goal was to develop a main control board and related firmware for a dental device. The main board was intended to be utilized with or without IOT capabilities. The secondary goal was to then develop a daughter board and firmware to run the board, communicate with the main control board and to communicate to AWS for data sharing with a web app.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

A clear timeline with deliverables was presented at the beginning of the project. While all projects tend to have delays, the ease of communication and continual progress resulted in a successful outcome with prototype and small run production of both the main control board, daughter board and accompanying firmware. At the project end, all necessary manufacturing and design files were provided. Ease of communication and clear objectives were two keys to the project success.

While the project timeline fell to some natural delays, due to scope changes, firmware needs and other items, the overall project was a success. Changes were accommodated and meetings were held often to allow for better communication. The team was a pleasure to work with.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We found that they were very resourceful; they suggested improvements even though they didn't have expertise in our specific industry, which ultimately resulted in a product that exceeded our initial requirements.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Conclusive Engineering could have done differently?

While I feel they worked diligently, engineers and designers tend to compress the time that is usually required to meet a task. I feel that the timelines were aggressive which made them challenging to hit.

Conclusive was asked to perform extensive root cause analysis of what seemed to be hardware failure. Instead, with exhaustive analysis and knowing where and how to find root causes, Conclusive found the issue to be an obscure firmware bug. Conclusive provided professional, finished documentation of their findings, recovery options after the failure and necessary software required to implement the recovery.

Conclusive is diligent, and their developers participate in our Agile process via an online meeting application., even though the time zone requires atypical hours. Conclusive Engineering delivers their assigned tasks on time and with excellent documentation.

Conclusive developed a custom automotive-grade gateway board for our Autonomous Robotic Carrier along with the mechanical design including liquid cooling.

We received the full PCB and mechanical design along with a basic BSP.

They were very flexible and let us know in case of any shifts caused by requirements changes from our side. Incredible responsible even off-hours.
