I’m and architect by trade and now also the founder of CollabMind, an app for the architecture and interior design community.

What challenge were you trying to address with ChopDawg.com?
I wanted to address the lack of client and project management tools available to residential architects and interior designers. So with the help of ChopDawg I created an app to fill this void. I wasn’t knowledgeable about apps and barely technology as a whole so it was a steep learning curve.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement and team dynamic?
Initially, I provided ChopDawg.com with the outline of the app’s structure; they took it from there. The first part of the contract was the creation of a functioning prototype. ChopDawg.com successfully got all my ideas into screen designs and worked through the navigation.
The second part of my contract with them was for the actual development of the app and approvals through the iOS and Android stores. This has been completed, along with a marketing website and app management portal.
The team is comprised of a number of engineers and project manager. There is also a QA team who is heavily involved in the testing of the app through the development. In addition to this “hands on” part of the team, ChopDawg’s CEO Joshua and office manager were often checking in and I felt all along that everyone at ChopDawg was invested and interested in my success.
What's the status of this engagement? The app is available on the market now and I’m working through some minor tweaks with ChopDawg. They have remained committed to my project once it launched.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
How did your relationship with your partner evolve? It was interesting to move from the Prototype / Design Phase into the Development phase. A new team of people were brought on to the project (without totally losing my wonderful designer) but I felt the project was managed with the same level of care and interest.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?
Melisa (UI/UX Designer) is fantastic. She came up with the branding. I initially showed her some images, and we talked about color schemes. She took a couple of images and turned them into something more than a copy of someone else’s product. Overall, Melisa captured my vision.
In what ways can they improve? I think schedule is the only place where I would suggest improvement. I was expecting to launch a couple of months earlier than it actually did.
What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours? All of the people at ChopDawg are very willing to take the extra time to explain anything you don’t know about building an app, so don’t hesitate to ask. There were so many times I felt overwhelmed by what I didn’t know and / or this process I had never been through before. They were a wonderful partner all along the way.

Introduce your business and what you do there. I’m the CEO and co-founder of Cook Up LLC. It’s a video food company that combines TikTok, Instagram, and Yelp in one app for foodies to watch videos and see recipes attached with ingredients. If they want the ingredients, we link up with delivery services to deliver the ingredients to the user’s house.

What was the scope of their involvement? ChopDawg.com has developed our app for Android and iOS devices. What is the team composition? I’ve worked with around six teammates from ChopDawg.com, including Josh (CEO), Ali (UI/UX Designer), a manager, and teammates behind the scenes who ensure everything runs smoothly. How did you come to work with ChopDawg.com? I was working with a different team that was taking too long to implement certain things. As a result, I Googled app designers for small businesses and startups and met with 6–7 companies. I was blown away by the reviews left by well-known brands for ChopDawg. From there, I had a phone call with Josh, who told me what to expect and how much the project would cost. How much have you invested with them? So far, we’ve invested around $35,000. What is the status of this engagement? We officially started working together in July 2023, and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? Working with ChopDawg.com has been great. Everything has been seamless. The quality of their work is beyond my expectations, and it’s worth every penny. How did ChopDawg.com perform from a project management standpoint? Their project management is great. They’ve met our budget, too. Meanwhile, we’re on track to release in February–March 2024. Whenever I need to communicate with them, I can call, text, or reach out to them via Slack. We also have weekly meetings on Zoom for about an hour. If I have any questions or things I want to add or take away from the designs, I can talk to them through Slack. Ali is great at taking my drawings and turning them into real-life wireframes. It’s amazing to see the collaboration between my brain and his designs — it’s pretty cool. If I have a question, I can contact Josh directly. He’s available any time of the day to ensure everything runs smoothly. What did you find most impressive about them? ChopDawg.com’s communication has been impressive. They can communicate with us any time of the day. When I need to talk to them, they reply in a timely manner to answer all my questions. That’s more valuable than a lot of people realize. Are there any areas they could improve? No, there aren’t any. Everything’s fine right now. Do you have any advice for potential customers?
