Eugene owned our content and SEO end to end, acting as a fractional Head of Content. The work covered strategy, the blog setup, content production, landing pages and link building.

Key deliverables:

• The blog architecture spec: WordPress on generect.com/blog (not a subdomain) with an author sidebar, table of contents and a CTA system.
• A content plan with 90+ rows: keyword, buying stage, the next action for the reader and an outline for each article. Every outline ends with how to do the job with Generect.
• 46 published articles (April to November 2025), mostly 3,000 to 5,000 words: MCP guides, B2B data and enrichment topics, API reviews, comparisons and hiring-signal pieces. Eugene briefed and edited every article; some drafts came from outside writers working from his briefs.
• An email finder landing page and six industry landing pages (software, financial services, manufacturing, IT and MSPs, consulting, recruitment).
• A lead magnet (prospect list building checklist) with its landing page and email sequence.
• 36 editorial backlinks (September to December 2025, including a DR 92 site) and 18 live directory listings (G2, Trustpilot, SaaSHub, AlternativeTo, SourceForge).
• Homepage copy rewrites and our Google for Startups announcement post.

One call that mattered: in April 2025 Eugene pushed to write about MCP (Model Context Protocol) before competitors did, because we were launching our own MCP server. Keyword tools said the volume was tiny; it became the biggest source of non-brand clicks on the blog.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We went from zero rankings to a blog that brings in developers and sales teams every day. Search clicks grew 3.7× in three months: 367 a month (May to June 2025) to 1,369 (August to September 2025), with blog clicks going from 53 to 1,101 and impressions from about 21,000 to 310,000. Clicks kept growing and peaked at 2,757 in February 2026.

By September 2025 we ranked in the top five for commercial terms that were out of reach six months earlier: "b2b data providers" (position 4), "lead generation companies for small businesses" (3), "firmographic data providers" (3), "b2b search engines" and "lead search engine" (3 to 4). The MCP guides became our top pages, and the 36 backlinks and 18 directory listings gave the new site authority it would not have had otherwise.

Very well organized. Eugene ran the content plan as a shared sheet, so we always saw what was in progress, what was next and why. Articles, landing pages and links were delivered on schedule across an engagement of more than a year, and he was quick to respond and adjust when our priorities shifted, for example when the MCP server launched.

Eugene's deep understanding of SaaS content marketing was impressive. He knows how to make content work hard: pulling in the right audience and converting them. He also thinks like an operator, not a writer for hire: he built the whole system (plan, blog, briefs, landing pages, links), was honest about which head terms would take longer, and made a contrarian bet on MCP content that paid off.

Are there any areas for improvement or something busyless could have done differently?

Nothing significant. Fast-moving topics like MCP need regular refreshes to hold their rankings, and that is something we would plan for from the start next time.

The project is still ongoing and we track results weekly with a more detailed monthly review. We are already seeing positive changes in LLM visibility for pages we are focusing on. Moreover, Google's AI Overviews cite three of our pages.

For almost two years now, we’ve worked on three key priorities: optimizing and building out every process in our organic channel with GEO/AEO in mind, growing traffic through both classic SEO and programmatic SEO, and developing an agentic-friendly strategy across several satellite sites designed to funnel traffic between them. Each of these was tackled with rare clarity, combining deep strategic thinking with hands-on execution and turning a complex, multi-site setup into a structured system our team could actually run. What stood out most was Eugene's ability to stay ahead of how search is changing, preparing our content not just for Google but for AI answer engines and agents. Over the course of our collaboration, we broke our all-time record for organic traffic several times and successfully navigated multiple major search engine updates, adapting our approach quickly and effectively. Together, we built out a full Awareness–Consideration–Decision content strategy that helped move colder audiences toward signing up for the product, so the channel grew not only in traffic but also in commercial impact. All key processes in the organic channel are now in place, supported by programmatic SEO and a network of satellite sites that broaden our reach. Our content also started appearing in AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, giving us visibility in a channel that barely existed when we started.

We also got more appointments, but we weren’t sure of the percentage.
