BuildApps provided our team with two experienced Flutter developers. They worked

on creating mobile applications for financial and management accounting. The

development took place in a continuous process format using the Scrum

methodology, which allowed us to quickly respond to changing requirements and

quickly implement new functionality.

The team built a fully-functioning web app with SMS messaging integration. This was a first version of a functional app so we could test the concept with real groups and users. They did all design and development related activities.

The team delivered a fully-functional experience in a timely manner.

They were extremely responsive to our needs, changes in direction, and questions. We collaborated via virtual calls and a Slack channel for asynchronus back-and-forth.

First off, I have to say how absolutely impressed I was that they were developing our little app while a war is raging in their country. That shows a commitment to work that I have rarely seen. Beyond those elements, the team was collaborative, intelligent, and full of good approaches to the problems we were trying to solve.

The company still operates in a largely waterfall way. It would be great to have them embrace more of the agile principles that can improve collaboration and iteration, but what they delivered was solid.

I am CEO of outsourcing company headquatered in Kyiv, Ukraine, which provides workers for logistics and manufactures over the country.

We wanted to create a mobile application for our workers and office employees. Due to this app, our workers had to get an opportunity to register for work, track their income, build their working plans. Our office managers had to get functions of creating the orders from any place, signing up our workers for the orders, getting information about workers and clients.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We started to work on this project with other company, which won our tender. But that company wasn't successful, they decided to leave our project, after that BuildApps was the only contractor who agreed to continue this project with us on terms of our tender. We shook hands and implemented the project.

First of all, I have to say that terms of our project were longer that we planned because of war in Ukraine that had started in February 2022. Our company stopped activity on MobApp-project for almost 3 month. The second problem was the substitution of head of the project from our side, it added some issues. So, real duration could be 4-5 months. In the beginning we agreed the plan, the project was divided on 11 stages. Also we created a chat in messenger to discuss issues as quickly as possible. After every stage we checked the produced part, fixed bugs and moved further. Sometimes we understood that we wanted an additional options, so than we evaluated them and included to the plan.

We contacted constantly a client-manager and 1-2 developers. But I am not sure that nobody else worked on our project)

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our MobApp is only for internal using) So, we can't say something like "it was downloaded 5 mln. times") But the main is that it works, it executes the functions we need and it for sure better that we had earlier)

During our project we had 2 or 3 times when we had different evaluations of executed work, but I think that are normal situations and we successfully solved all of them by negotiations. So, it was quite pleasant to communicate and work together. The resources from BuildApps are mostly constructive and effective, a majority of issues we were solving very fast in messenger or sometimes on meetings, it never was a problem)

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I am not the big professional on Mobile Apps creation, so for me it was very important to make a well-executing application, that satisfies the need of our workers and managers. I hope, we made it) The most valuable for me in our cooperation was that partners from BuildApps offered all the time their own proposals to make an App better, they weren't just executers, they were really involved in the project)

Our website was initially made very low-cost, using wordpress CMS and free theme. This cost us a lot of head-aches, lost opportunities and unwanted stress due to vague functionality of the wordpress platform. After consideration, we started a completely new design of our website with BuildApps, where we offered previously prepared UI graphics in Figma. BuildApps had in responsibility to prepare frontend, backend and CMS linking for our domain and make sure the deployment of the website will be successful.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We made a connection by Upwork platform, where I choose BuildApps due to shown experience and knowledge about the assignment by CEO of BuildApps, Ivan. Before we closed an agreement, I could see how simply can he explain a difficult to understand topics and technologies - main factor of showing expertise according to many.

We had multiple video calls + emails, and whatsapp communication when needed. Initially, I explained my vision, and we established multiple milestones for the project and set deliverables. The technologies used consisted of Strapi CMS, javascript coding and IP /Webhosting linking during the last step of development - deployment of the website.

Visually and technically, the platform looked a lot better. the improved general feeling, loading speed and ease of use.
