Over the last several years, we have quickly been able to resize the number of people on the team to meet the demands of the business. BugRaptors work very closely with Senior QA Engineers to execute test cases, report issues and verify bug fixes.

They also do most of the regression test work so our Senior QA can focus on understanding requirements and allocating work.

I have been associated with BugRaptors for several years and it has always been a delight since day 1. We have a sales enablement platform that needs consistent scaling to meet the highest benchmarks of user experience. The QA team at BugRaptors have always been a great support and partner in our software development cycles.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The results have been amazing, especially the discipline that they had on completing their assigned tasks and regular updated like daily reports & progress updates is something that has held me with this organization. Highly recommended!

Response time to our queries is very fast. We take advantage of this company being in a different time zone so we are effectively completing work 24 hours a day.

What were your goals for this project?

To do continuous testing of our SDK on several mobile phones. Bugraptors conducts daily tests on 20 different handsets by walking on a given route to cross or stay in geofence zones.

How did you select this vendor?

We did an RFQ on several testing companies and selected BugRaptors because of their low prices and correct answers to the RFQ.

Required scope is ability of BugRaptors to do 1 to 2 hours daily tests on a minimum of 15 devices. They are then a critical element of our global Q/A strategy

3 people are parttime involved each day.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have defined a metric in the contract which is the number of prerequisites of tests that have not been respected. We reduce the price of their prestation if they don't respect some prerequite with a margin error of 5% that was the thresold not to go over. Finally we have had to activate this contract clause only once, showing that they were quite good in contract terms respect.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had a bit problems to really launch the daily tests, but main of those problems were an inability on our side to explain clearly the tests prerequistes. After 2 weeks we were jointly able to stabilize the process

Their kindness and reactive customer service set them apart.

Not really. We are really satisfied of this collaboration.

I’m the digital product and marketing manager for SimTutor. We’re an online learning platform the gives users the tools to create workplace training and simulation programs. The software is often used to develop training programs for jobs where mistakes are either extremely dangerous or expensive. Our product is accessible through a monthly subscription.

What challenge were you trying to address with BugRaptors?

Our platform consists of multiple functionalities, so there’s always something that could be tested. We hired BugRaptors to test various aspects of the software and to ensure it operates at the highest possible level.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The platform is a web app that’s optimized for mobile devices. BugRaptors is responsible for testing our monthly releases on tablets, phones, and desktops. That process includes ticket testing to make sure our developers accomplished their assigned tasks. They also perform regression testing and update the test cases for any changes we’ve made. Their team also conducts smoke testing after every patch release. Additionally, I assign them ad hoc tasks whenever a customer reports specific problems. They try to replicate the issues so our developers can patch them out.

Kanika (VP of Sales & Strategy, BugRaptors) is our primary point of contact. They also allocated a test manager and an associate consultant.

Our relationship with BugRaptors was established before I joined the company, so I can’t describe the selection process.

My team started working with them in 2016 and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re a growing company, so it’s difficult to provide metrics for this type of engagement. Bugs have increased since BugRaptors started working with us, but that’s because our developers continually add new features to the platform. The product continues to grow, so I can’t even say testing time has decreased.

How did BugRaptors perform from a project management standpoint?

They run a relatively smooth testing cycle. Their testers often work overtime or during weekends to meet our more aggressive timelines. The time zone difference results in them coming online toward the end our day, but that hasn’t been a significant inconvenience. I make myself available during evenings to answer questions if needed, and that’s fine with me. The language barrier was a small issue at first, but we learned to communicate with each other as the engagement continued. Working with the same contact helped that process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their flexibility and willingness to work within deadlines are excellent. They’ve accumulated a lot of knowledge surrounding our software after working through several testing cycles. Now, they’re able to replicate and resolve even bizarre coding bugs quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We briefly discussed the possibility of writing scripts for automated testing. Their pitch was designed well, but it didn’t make sense economically.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Like working with any company that operates outside of your industry, it’s important to be incredibly prescriptive when outlining the project’s scope. I also recommend retaining the same point of contact and building a professional relationship with that person.
