I’m the general manager of Kämpfe Elektronik, an electronic manufacturing services company. We produce printed circuit board assemblies for our customers and also assemble boards with components.

What challenge were you trying to address with brightside Studio?

We hired them for branding services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

brightside provided branding and UI/UX design services for us. First, we had an initial briefing, and they guided us to create a draft document. We defined the scope and had a creative workshop to determine our values. From there, they did a competitor analysis and another workshop to discover how we would differentiate ourselves in the market. 

From there, they went into more detailed branding questions and design ideas in terms of how to make our values tangible. They followed that with the branding concepts and visual designs with several concept variants, from which we chose one. 

After that, brightside designed our website’s UI/UX using Figma and then guided the website’s development. They delivered a full branding kit with a company values section, differentiation, positioning, and all necessary visuals, including the logo and website design. 

What is the team composition?

I worked with three people from brightside: two senior teammates and one junior teammate. One of the senior people also acted as the project manager.

How did you come to work with brightside Studio?

We found them through word of mouth; we got really good references about brightside. 

How much have you invested with them?

We invested about €25,000 (approximately $25,000). 

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from May–August 2021.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

After we released the website with our new branding, we asked existing and new clients how much the branding fit us and if they thought it would make a future-proof impression; we got 100% positive responses. We’ve also asked new customers who make inquiries through the site how they see us, and the way they’ve described us exactly matches how we want to be perceived. 

brightside had a very good process of going from ideas to concrete requirements and a nice project plan. Thanks to their work, we’ve gotten clients we probably wouldn’t have with our previous nonexistent positioning. 

How did brightside Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

They were better than perfect at project management. The team was proactive and communicated extremely well. We used Notion for project management and Figma to collaborate, which was nice in terms of interacting with them. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed by brightside’s dedication and their customer-oriented approach. They treated the project as if it were theirs, which made all the difference. Additionally, they were super professional and had excellent skills, and the combination of those two things was pretty remarkable. 

The result was also outstanding, especially for the time they took to complete it. Although they’re a small team, they’re a boutique agency that’s very open-minded and extremely agile. All of these things together made for a very good experience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. We had a project review and found no major points that needed significant improvement. In fact, most of the improvements had to be on our side regarding how we provided information to them. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be disciplined because you’ll be the bottleneck in the project. Let brightside guide you and leverage their open communication. Moreover, don’t try to go too much into the details; trust their process, which is easy because it’s so open, so there’s little to fear.

We were at a really early stage of the company and needed someone to provide branding, logo, and website design services.

She helped design the logo and arrange the materials on the website. We had pictures and materials that she used for the website. She did all the design and work by herself.

She was great; it was a smooth process. The research that went into the branding was great. The website still functions and the guidelines are still in effect. We received good feedback from other people.

Great work process, very efficient. We started with a face-to-face meeting and got going from there. There wasn’t much back-and-forth in the process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

She’s very well-structured and knowledgeable about the industry. She clarified everything in the beginning.

I don’t have much to say, I’m very happy.

We're a Belgian apparel brand. We do all kinds of outwear, combined with performance technology and high fashion.

What challenge were you trying to address with Linn Legros?

We needed help with graphic design and marketing materials.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, we did a Kickstarter campaign, where we needed her to do a review of the materials that we did and make them more aesthetically appealing. We also needed the messaging for marketing to be much more clear and focused. She did all of the graphic design for the campaign, including flyers, posters, and any kind of event that we had that we need something graphic.

Then, we grew up and needed a new e-commerce website, so we hired her to do that. She did everything from the initial graphics and the branding to the actual messages. Next, we started to open some stores in Europe, and she made designs for the windows and video projections. Finally, we also hired her to do graphic design for elements of the product itself. She did the care instructions, technology labels that we sew into those as well.

Linn (Owner) is our main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Linn Legros?

We found her by chance. I have another company that does films, and I work with her boyfriend. He mentioned her, and I called her when we needed someone on short notice. It was like love at first sight, professionally and personally. Now she's part of the company family.

We've invested approximately $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in April 2018, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The campaign worked really well and we grew really fast. She had an amazing performance with very good results. Definitely all of the design elements and aesthetics were done at a higher level. Her way of thinking also stands out. She's not just a graphic designer, she has all of the skills you need for marketing, messaging, and branding. Our sales have been really high and we were recognized as the "company of the year" last year in Belgium. Her work definitely contributes to all of our success.

How did Linn Legros perform from a project management standpoint?

Sometimes we communicate on Skype, but we also meet in-office. There was a stretch of time where we worked together for almost a year and she was in the office 3-4 days a week. Her communication was great. Shes' really professional and lovely to work with.

What did you find most impressive about them?

First, she has a very unique design style that I find very aesthetic. I find it very European and fitting. Secondly, she does the design but also thinks about marketing as well, which translates to sales. Thirdly, she really has an open mind. A lot of the things we did were not the classic work for a graphic designer, so she really took on the challenge and applied her skills for new applications very quickly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don't think so.

The more preparation we gave her, including content and background, the more precise the results were. in the beginning, she even guided us and requested we give her feedback early on.

I needed a new artist webpage. I was looking for something original that would showcase all of the photography I had on my album. I was also looking for something with character and originality. The site also needed to be finished to match my latest album release in March 2019.

Linn (Freelance Brand Designer) designed a webpage to showcase my work. The difficulty was artistically integrating the photography, and not having it appear like any other musician page. I wanted to showcase the imagery behind my work as much as possible.

I heard about Linn from a colleague that recommended her work. After getting in touch with her and explaining my needs, she crafted a few sketches for me. I decided to work with her after that.

Linn Legros completely understood my vision. I’m super happy with the results. The webpage is helpful, showcasing my concerts and linking to places to buy tickets. It’s an amazing tool that holds all of the insights and information about my work.

How did Linn Legros perform from a project management standpoint?

Linn is great at project management, remaining on top of her work. Her dedication and passion shine through. My label was also in contact with her since there’s a project manager behind my work.

At times, we would be in a thread altogether for giving direction moving forward. When my label came back with input, it was always easy to redo things, brainstorm, and have changes made. The collaboration between everyone flowed nicely.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Her dedication is extremely impressive. I feel lucky to work with her because Linn strives for the best possible quality. It’s clear that she loves what she does.

There’s nothing I’d have her improve. She got everything done quickly.

Linn puts everything into her engagements. I encourage anyone to use her services because they can trust that Linn will do a great job. I’ve also recommended her to a friend of mine who had the same good experience.
