I’m the co-founder of Drift, an Indian scooter rental company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Brainvire Infotech Inc?
We needed someone to develop our iOS and Android applications to enable users to rent scooters. Brainvire Infotech Inc is especially design-focused, which is the most critical aspect for the success of a new platform with a new app.

What was the scope of their involvement?
They developed our iOS and Android applications.
Before starting development, we iterated on the design thoroughly. We didn’t talk about development until my co-founders and I were happy with how the platform looked and felt for the consumer. We did some consumer research and showed the design to a few people and gathered their feedback, and Brainvire Infotech Inc was supportive and made edits and workflow changes based on the feedback we received from our potential customers. Once the design was finalized, we started our deep dive into development. We were able to do the iOS and Android applications in parallel.
We wanted to have minimum friction for new users to be onboarded onto the platform. We focused on the fluency of the registration, the login, and sign-up screens. We were able to achieve that by using a simple one-time passcode registration, which is common in India.
The next challenge was to have the integration with the hardware. They were able to hit the ground running and connect with our hardware scooters and show their GPS location and movement on the app.
They integrated Stripe for credit card processing. We also had a coupon integration so our early users could get discounts off the first few rides on the platform.
In addition to that, we also worked on a landing page for our platform, which is going to be on the website. Users can come and learn about our service and sign up for notifications.
What is the team composition?
My main point of contact was a lead business analyst. We had project managers who led the development from an execution perspective. We interfaced with a lot of different people on the team.
How did you come to work with Brainvire Infotech Inc?
We did extensive research on Google, Clutch, and other review websites. We spent 4–5 weeks to find the right team using a methodical approach. We sent out RFPs to about 15 companies including Brainvire Infotech Inc. We shortlisted the top five companies based on their professionalism, pricing, and scoping of the project and interviewed their business development folks. We decided on two companies in the end and then chose Brainvire Infotech Inc. One of the major reasons we decided to go with them is because their CEO personally reached out to us to understand our project, to optimize our code, and to give background about his company and the kind of projects they had done before. That gave us a lot of confidence in them.

We worked together from February until November 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The way we designed and executed the onboarding process felt remarkably smooth, and we were happy with that. Their work with the hardware integration and implementation of the payment system was also fluent and smooth.
How did Brainvire Infotech Inc perform from a project management standpoint?
We received nothing but professional interactions from the team during the course of the project. There was a common project manager who was overseeing both projects. They were able to share learnings and insights across teams. Having this structure with the project manager was certainly useful.
Any feedback that I gave to the project manager spilled down to both teams. The teams integrated my feedback into the app by the next week. It was fast turnaround time. We had weekly meetings with the project manager to monitor the progress and for me to give feedback on a weekly basis. We got quite close to what my expectations were.
They use an Excel sheet to track all the tasks that they outline during the scope of work. Then, they use that document to track if tasks are completed, partially completed, not done, or waiting for review. Every week, as they work on tasks, they update the spreadsheet and email it to me so I’m aware of their progress. On the backend, they also use a ticketing system where I could log bugs and any feedback I had on the status of the project.
There were four milestones. We paid 25% of the total amount at each milestone. I suggested adding a few milestones and dividing the payments up more, and they were flexible and modified the payment structure. Once they completed a milestone, they notified me and collected my feedback. Once both parties were in consensus that the milestone had been achieved, I made the payment.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were able to pull in appropriate resources to fulfill the requirements of the projects. I thought Brainvire Infotech Inc was only a development company, but they assisted me with design as well, which was great. They are a single vendor for the whole project so I don’t have to go anywhere else.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be thorough and design your scope of work with the Brainvire Infotech Inc team intricately. At the beginning of the project, know all the tasks that need to be completed so that you have a good estimate of the time that’s required and the cost estimate.

Brainvire Infotech Inc made a smooth transition, with no hiccups at all. We’re pleased with the work done by their team, and they’ve given us ideas for improving customer experience and enhancing our site. For example, Brainvire Infotech Inc added a flash deals feature to the site that was critical for us. We’d had some compatibility issues with it in the past, but the team managed to deliver a working version.

Brainvire Infotech Inc follows an agile model, and they make sure they deliver on time. They have a good tracking mechanism and use Jira to monitor any defects or issues.

They're in India, so we’d love it if they had a team in Dubai that we could interact with directly.

We contracted with Brainvire Infotech to design and develop our mobile application and complementary website.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We relied on Brainvire Infotech to lead the build of our social media and journaling mobile app. The website they created serves as a billboard of sorts for the mobile application, which is available on iOS and Android. The app, which is integrated with Facebook and Instagram, allows users to chronicle meaningful or trivial life events and store them as memories to view in the future.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with the CEO, the head of custom solutions, and a full development team.
How did you come to work with Brainvire Infotech?
I was familiar with their work after attending conferences where they were featured. They have a reputation as a strong and affordable India-based tech company. I have developed a friendly relationship with the CEO over time, so decided on his company when this project arose.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about $150,000, but that total was split into several payments because we worked in sprints.

Our engagement lasted from April–October 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We have launched the app, but we’re still conducting some last-minute fixes. Still, I’m satisfied with how the app turned out. We’re already discussing future iterations. The design is visually impressive, and the technical quality is strong. This was an extensive process that saw us make several scope changes. Brainvire Infotech was flexible and patient because they believe in building a successful product.
How did Brainvire Infotech perform from a project management standpoint?
I was always updated regarding their progress. We communicated well through Jira, Skype, and email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
There was never a technical element that they weren’t able to accomplish. They’re so advanced technologically that they always seemed to find the right answers. Their greatest strength is taking ideas and using their skill set to bring them to life.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I preferred to be responsible for the written content within the app, but having their team start that process is helpful. They have room to grow, however, in their written English. I had to clean up some grammatical errors. Having a more experienced English speaker on their staff would mitigate that problem.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Their team told me how appreciative they were of how involved I was in the development process. They sometimes have clients that assign the work and don’t respond to communication. I’d recommend being an active participant in the building process.

We wanted to provide a business directory that offered information on vendors and some insight regarding their offerings and skillsets. We needed a partner to provide consulting and development services throughout the building process.

What was the scope of their involvement?
Brainvire Infotech built our digital business directory, allowing users to search using geolocation, keywords, or names. They’re provided with a corresponding results page that lists available B2B or B2C agencies. For the development, we used open-source PHP solutions, including the WordPress CMS.
What is the team composition?
They assigned an account manager, who was my main contact, but I was free to interact with the rest of their team as well. I don’t have an exact number, but I estimate there were around 10–12 developers and other resources involved in the background.

In one of our many Google searches, we came across their website and reached out. We really liked their initial approach and consulting style, so we decided to partner with them.

We spent around 45 lakhs (4.5 million INR or $60,615 USD).

The project lasted from January–May 2018, but we first spoke with their team in December 2017. As a startup, we’ll be adding more functionalities in the future, so I plan to maintain a strong relationship with their team.

I’m not sure how they managed the project on their end, but they usually delivered work before their estimated completion date. In that sense, it was a perfect collaboration.

I can’t think of anything in terms of their work, but getting a discount would’ve been great.
