I’m the founder and CEO of myAthena Prolearn Pvt. Ltd., an education technology startup that provides e-learning solutions and interview preparation for MBA students. We plan to provide a voice bot that helps them conduct a mock interview.

What challenge were you trying to address with Botosynthesis?

Students generally want to practice their interviewing skills. We wanted to automate a technology by building a voice bot that would interview a human being.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The team developed a voice bot for us to conduct mock interviews, using AWS. The voice bot is built on Google Dialogflow. When the mock interview starts, the bot welcomes the individual. After asking questions, the bot records the answer, and depending on that answer, they ask the next question. It also has the participant’s resume.

It’s a conversational chatbot, and we wanted it to be as human as possible. We’ve only worked in phase one, preparing the bast product. It is a long-term engagement.

We will gradually build a mock interview that will capture information from multiple sources. For example, their LinkedIn profile, companies that they’ve worked for, and ask relevant questions as a human would. The machine learning algorithms we plan to use need strong data to build on that aspect. We will build more modules with them going forward.

I had three points of contact. There’s one person on the business side, one on the technical side, and another support person. I don’t know how big their team is.

How did you come to work with Botosynthesis?

I found them through a combination of my Google search and Upwork while I evaluated multiple options and companies. I did hire another company before them, but I figured they wouldn’t scale fast. They also didn’t truly understand the requirements.

I had to pivot quickly and find another partner. That’s where Botosynthesis came in. They understood quickly and proposed a solution and execution strategy within 20 days.

For phase one, we’ve invested $7,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement with their team started in December 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Currently, all feedback is internal. We haven’t gone live yet, but we’re happy with it. Their team has done a commendable job, making it completely seamless and work like other voice technologies.

How did Botosynthesis perform from a project management standpoint?

I shared a scoping document with them to let them know what I was looking for. They came back with how they can divide it into phases.

We had weekly calls to understand the project scope. My development team was also involved daily. They shared Word documents through email, and we had scrum calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team understands the customer requirements really well. They bring in their expertise from having done it for other clients. They tell us what works and what doesn’t work.

What’s critical for startups like mine is they have a really fast go-to-market. I never expected them to turn around in just 20 days’ time from the first call to the end delivery of the product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had a clear plan from day one regarding phase one. What they delivered, we’ve given them feedback on what’s working. These are typical problems in any deployment, and there’s nothing that they can’t solve.

They’ve done a good job. We knew this would be a long engagement with their supportive team.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Their team has the right balance of having a UX/UI team and technical team. I didn’t face any challenges with them. I just give them my business requirements, and they translate it into what the UX or user journey would like and what technology platform they’ll use. I’m happy with their performance.

I’m the leader of Summon Electronics. We’re a small distributor of electronic parts. We buy and sell electronic components globally. Companies come to us to help with supply chain issues.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I wanted a chatbot that has an API that’s built into it to help customers quickly find data and the part they’re requesting. Basically, it makes a market value. Botosynthesis built the chatbot in two weeks. Now, they’re developing an API for me.

I work with 2–3 people.

How did you come to work with Botosynthesis?

I found them on Upwork. I had about 15 people bid on the project. Out of all of them, Botosynthesis was able to clearly define the project within 15 minutes.

We’ve invested about $125,000.

Our ongoing engagement started in October 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Within the first week of launching the chatbot, a new customer was directed to it and found some interest without the salesperson having to sell them on it. This led to a $29,000 revenue deal that was generated not by the sales rep, but through the chatbot.

How did Botosynthesis perform from a project management standpoint?

We had an initial delivery date, but there was push back on it. When we finally agreed on a date, the product was delivered earlier than that date. It was impressive that they had enough gust to say they weren’t comfortable delivering by a certain date and proposed a new date. Then, they ended up delivering it earlier than the promised date we agreed on.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re great at quickly understanding the scope of a project. We have engaging conversations and there’s no language barrier. They’ve allowed me to shave off 2–3 hours of not having to make a process flow or a diagram. I didn’t have to do any of that with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their initial response time could improve. I wish they were a little more customer-centric. I send something and want an immediate answer. I know we’re in different time zones but often times I wouldn’t get an answer until 12 hours later. Don't get me wrong, it’d be a good and thought-out answer.

However, I would like some correspondence explaining that they received my question but won’t be able to get back to me for 12 hours. I’ve given them this feedback and they’ve gotten better.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have a clear and defined scope that lays out dates. You don’t need to micromanage Botosynthesis. Instead, incentivize them with delivery dates.

It was a shorter project because we hired another company that became unresponsive. Botosynthesis was able to pick up where the last vendor left off. They also help us on an ongoing basis with questions that arise.

We’re really excited to roll out the new chatbot since it’ll save us a lot of time inhouse. It was really nice that they offered to provide additional support after they finished the project.

We communicated by email, video recording, and phone. The team was very responsive at all times.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Compared to our previous vendor that wasn’t showing up to meetings and unresponsive, the experience with Botosynthesis was amazing. They didn’t need any hand-holding. They’re incredibly intelligent and truly responsive.

Are there any areas they could improve?          

No, nothing comes to mind. They were on top of things with making suggestions, answering emails, and getting the job done on time even in a different time zone.

My advice is to come prepared. We went through the whole process of creating flows and making sure we had everything outlined, which helped a lot.

ClikTruk Solutions provides a portal that can be used by transportation companies and fleet owners.

If someone wants to make a transport, they will post their requirements in our portal, and those will be sent to the fleet owners covering those areas for them to submit quotes. The supplier whose quote is selected will assign a driver, and the driver will upload a proof of delivery after completing the transport.

We started working with Botosynthesis in late-May or early-June 2020, and the project ended two weeks ago.

After going through some UAT sessions and minor changes, we launched the product last week. The overall feedback has been good.

Botosynthesis accommodated all the changes we asked for during and after the project. It was comfortable working with them. There were some issues in the early stage because of the lack of understanding, but in the end, they were resolved.

My team was actively involved in the project, and we had good teamwork with Botosynthesis. We achieved what we set out to do.

We have knowledge in other development areas, but we were new to chatbot development. Botosynthesis was quite knowledgeable in that area. They were collaborative, and they worked with us as a team.

Botosynthesis met our expectations for this project. I’m fine with how they worked.

It’s essential to have a clear scope in the first phase because Botosynthesis will plan based on it. We had some unforeseen issues that required changing the scope quite a bit. Next time we work together, I’ll make sure to be more specific.

Before I had this chatbot it was impossible for me to reply to all my students as I get hundreds of queries per day, but now the chatbot does it all for me. Now I don't need to worry about the pending messages of students.

It was super effective and the project was very well managed. The team was quick to respond and they updated me throughout the timeline of project.

They are fast, professional, and they have a good focus on quality of delivery and customer satisfaction.

What was the scope of their involvement?

A lot of times, clients contact through the Facebook page. Since we’re not always able to respond in real time, we wanted to create chatbot answer direct questions for the clients.

We’re not giving out legal advice, but the chatbots are meant to answer logistical questions. If they write down why they’re seeking legal assistance, they’ll leave a number so we can contact them or the bot will give them our number.

There’s a program called ManyChat that creates bots. I went to their Facebook page and asked if there was anyone who could build a chatbot for me. After receiving a few names and talking to a couple of people, I went with Botosynthesis.

We worked together from May–June 2020.

I’m satisfied with the work they’ve done. The chatbot project wrapped up in a few weeks. It was done just the way I wanted. Vansh always communicated with me whenever I was suggesting changes. The chatbot works well. There was an initial issue due to our previous bot, but he was able to remove that.

How did Botosynthesis perform from a project management standpoint?

I’m not sure what project management tools they use, but his communication was great, and he met my deadlines. We typically communicated by video calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Vansh was always willing to work with me. Even though he’s based in India, he worked with my time here in the US. Along with that accessibility, he was always willing to listen to a problem and offer a solution. The customer service was great.

I can’t think of anything. They did a good job.

Be clear about what you want because he’ll work with you. He’s worked with several attorneys, but what I wanted was different. He was able to create what I wanted based on how I communicate my needs.

We considered three companies and ended up choosing Botosynthesis because they gave us the confidence that they could get the work done. Their portfolio of successful work also helped on this decision.

The job was to create an integration between Chatfuel and Airtable. Botosynthesis suggested using Integromat, and created a perfect integration using that service. We only provided Botosynthesis with the goal of the project, and thankfully they provided the solution without much more information.

Thanks to Botosynthesis we managed to launch our prototype in 4 days. That is from the initial contact with Botosynthesis to the project being finished!

The project was a success, everything delivery as planned. More time could have been put into the start of the project however, we were able to still produce solutions during the project.

We had issues with timing, due to lack in past experience on my side, we had to make quick changes to the project. Which delayed a few flows during the project. These were additional requested and wasn't part of the initial agreement with Vansh (Team) Nevertheless, I was impressed with how the team responded regarding the additional request in the wotkflow.
