I work for a company that offers play-testing services to game studios. We help them see products through the eyes of their players. We provide studios with video recordings of people trying out their in-development game and giving feedback.

What challenge were you trying to address with Bonanza Design?

We’re in the middle of switching to a new pricing model. We needed a new pricing page to display our new subscription plans and list all features clearly. We wanted to showcase a list of over 40 items, which needed to work on a mobile platform. Working with the existing code, we required a partner to fit the page into our current website design.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bonanza Design redesigned our pricing page. Our team provided them with an internal presentation of our services, references to different SaaS price pages, and an idea for the structure. While we offered a few ideas on paper, Bonanza Design wasn’t given wireframes.

After explaining our vision, their team came back with high-definition mockups built in Photoshop. We provided feedback, requesting changes to colors and features, which their team integrated. They returned with different mockups of responsive designs for different states such as expansion when a user hovers over certain elements. During implementation, their team sent about 3–4 in progress versions for us to examine locally.

To ensure the new page would fit into our existing system, their team provided code in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. They made sure the product used the same CSS foundation as the rest of our website. Asking them to develop a visual design, their team integrated all components and content placeholders into the final deliverable.

We communicated with one main person from Bonanza Design. During implementation, a subcontractor also supported the project. 

How did you come to work with Bonanza Design?

I looked for a design agency and came across Bonanza Design on Clutch. Their team worked on modern websites in the SaaS space, which was hard to find. The contents of their portfolio spoke to us. We told them about the technical challenges of integrating the page into the Squarespace system. Bonanza Design was the only firm that was willing to take up that challenge.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent €4,000 (approximately $4,400 USD) on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We collaborated between August–September 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re still working on the text that will go into the platform so the feedback that we’ve received has been mainly internal. We’re all happy as we can finally show all the features offered. Our team is eagerly awaiting the platform going live because it’s going to be much better than what we have right now.

How did Bonanza Design perform from a project management standpoint?

Overall, Bonanza Design performed really well. They organized the project well, showing a detailed timeline ahead of time. From the get-go, we knew the timeline and project cost. We were early on all milestones. Their team was receptive to all the feedback that we provided, which is desirable in terms of implementation. They were responsive when needed. During busy periods, there were a couple of days here or there when I didn’t know about the project’s progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We received great mockups, which I could put on different devices to get a feel for what the final design would look like. Bonanza Design had quick turnaround times for design iterations. For example, I could send my feedback on Monday evening. Before I got into the office on Tuesday morning, I already had the new design. It was amazing.

Bonanza Design team really likes feedback from clients. At the beginning of the project, I felt bad for giving so much feedback. Wanting to build something that I liked, they were receptive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their team did a good job given all the intricacies of what we asked them to do. This is a high-level criticism, but the code quality of the implemented design could’ve been better. We’re spending a bit of time cleaning the code to make sure it’s as maintainable as we’d like it to be. Overall, their team saved us probably a month of time.

Go into the project with an idea and be willing to provide feedback. They can adapt the design to your requirements quickly.

After more than a hundred applications on Dribbble, we decided to work with Behrad and his team, because of their unique work process and their competence.

The work process of Behrad and his team is unique. We were able, week after week, to follow a roadmap that led to an exceptional end product. The consistency of the approach, the enriching and impactful work sessions are the basis of their strengths.
