I am the founder of Obliq, a Los Angeles-based interior design studio creating modern, elevated living spaces — from urban apartments to luxury homes. We create refined, modern living spaces for clients across the US.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What specific goals or objectives did you hire Big Steppers to accomplish?

We needed a website that could do a few things really well at the same time. It needed to elevate our brand and present our work at the level we wanted, but it also needed to be built with conversion in mind since we use the site for Google Ads and lead generation.

The biggest challenge was finding the right balance between a very clean, minimal aesthetic and actual performance. We didn't want to overdesign the site or make it feel cluttered just to add more "conversion-focused" elements. At the same time, we needed a strong portfolio experience where our projects could be presented in high quality and be easy to browse.

We worked with 2-5 employees from Big Steppers. Anastasiia was our main point of contact and was very hands-on throughout the project. The wider team supported the development and implementation.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Big Steppers handled the redesign end-to-end, from research and strategy through UX, prototyping, visual design, and development.

They started by doing a deep dive into our niche and the LA market, looking at competitors, industry trends, references, and what was and wasn't working in the market. They used that research to build the site structure and prototype, then moved into the design and development.

After the initial redesign, we continued working together on additional pages and ongoing optimization, including pages specifically built for A/B testing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The results were very strong. After the redesign, we saw a noticeable increase in inbound inquiries, along with improvements in conversion and overall site engagement.

We don't publicly share our specific numbers, but the increase in leads was significant and the new site has performed much better for us overall.

I think the fact that we continued working with Big Steppers after the launch is probably the best indication of how we felt about the results.

The initial redesign is complete, but we're still working with Big Steppers.

After launching the new site, we decided to keep working with the team on additional pages and A/B tests to keep improving the site's performance rather than treating the redesign as a one-time project.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Very well. The team moved quickly and delivered the initial redesign in about a month and a half, right in line with the timeline they committed to.

Communication was straightforward and the team was very proactive. They brought ideas to the table, backed them up with research.

What was your primary form of communication with Big Steppers?

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The level of initiative was probably the biggest thing for me. Anastasiia stayed engaged even after the initial redesign was finished. She and the team kept looking at the site's performance, suggesting A/B tests and new ideas, and thinking about how we could get more out of the site.

It never felt like they were just trying to deliver the project and move on. They genuinely cared about the outcome, which made the collaboration much more valuable.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Big Steppers could have done differently?

Honestly, nothing major comes to mind

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I'd recommend going into the project with clear business goals, but also giving the team room to bring their own ideas to the table.

Big Steppers did a lot of the thinking around the market, competitors, and conversion strategy that went beyond simply making the site look good. If you're looking for a team that cares about both the design and how the website actually performs, I'd definitely recommend them.
