I co-founded Unveil Studios Inc., a production company. We make feature drama, documentary, and corporate films.

What challenge were you trying to address with Benetone Films?

We needed a line producer in Thailand with extensive knowledge about locations and personnel.

What was the scope of their involvement?

The partnership with Benetone Films focused on Line Production. They helped us source personnel and locations for a film shoot in Thailand. For any resources we were lacking, they had access in the office or contracted out for the job.

What is the team composition?

We had one main point of contact for a 20–30-person team.

How did you come to work with Benetone Films?

My brother—who is part of our production company—found Benetone Films on a scouting trip in Bangkok. We had focused our search on the city before considering other agencies in the country. A year after the initial meeting, we hired Benetone Films because they met our requirements and made face-to-face communication easy. What’s more, the team was available and had the bandwidth for our project.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $450,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from November–December 2015.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Benetone Films’ on-site services enhanced the film’s production quality. Location shooting helped make the story more authentic. The film won several film festival awards including one for production design.

How did Benetone Films perform from a project management standpoint?

Given the project’s circumstances, Benetone Films was highly committed to the deadline. They delivered quite satisfactorily. We used Skype to supplement face-to-face meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team was committed and highly skilled. Their quality and timely deliveries were crucial to our production’s success. As a team, Benetone Films was positive and friendly. We still maintain a relationship with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The team ensured a smooth experience. They supported us when we had trouble securing shooting permits from the government. Despite significant challenges, Benetone Films did not give up when other agencies would have. The team ensured that we got what we paid for.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Plan in advance as much as possible. Have an in-person or Skype meeting, especially if the partnership is between international teams. That will make the sides more familiar with each other’s approaches.
