Please describe your company and your position there.

Labyrinth Online is an online education platform focusing on the modal music of the Mediterranean, the Middle East, Central and South Asia. Labyrinth Online is a program of Zambaleta, a music education nonprofit based in San Francisco. I am the Founder and Executive Director of Zambaleta.

For what projects/services did your company hire Bearcoda, and what were your goals?

We hired Bearcoda to develop labyrinthonline.org (both backend and frontend) as well as build a number of patches to connect our Wordpress CMS with our video library on AWS, our Learning Management System (Talent LMS) and our commerce suite (WooCommerce).

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected Bearcoda based on a personal recommendation after interviewing a number of web developers.

We worked together over the past year to define the project deliverables, goals, and select the apps / technologies to integrate with our platform. Bearcoda have been extremely helpful in helping us crystallize our product requirements, assess viable technologies, and build these out.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Over the past year, we have worked with both co-founders / principals of Bearcoda (Laura & Joe) as well as a number of their growing team members (Francisco - front end developer and Mariel - product manager).

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Our platform community of students and instructors has expanded 20x since our launch in June 2020. We receive 4.9 out of 5 stars on our student and instructor surveys for our website and technology.

Bearcoda used an agile approach and were very flexible to accommodate their client's software solutions. We worked primarily on Asana and Slack for ticket management and pointing.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Bearcoda was the most supportive and understanding technology partner we had encountered. They were patient, empathetic, professional and do everything they can to deliver the best results possible.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They could grow their team to keep up with their workflow. This said, they are very selective about who they hire to ensure a high quality product.

The development of our 3D animation Plugin.

I found them through an online search. They were very attentive and transparent about their workflow.

We hired Bear Coda to add additional features to our 3D Software, help hire new staff and lead the development of the project.

3 people. Lead Engineer, Full stack Engineer, and Front-end developer.

The team create all the features that we needed ahead of schedule.

They have a very organized workflow in Jira that allows you to see what every team member is responsible for.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I liked their overall communication style. They always responded to my queries and were consistently transparent.
