Please describe your company and your position there.

Capture is a startup launched in 2019 by myself (Abdul Aziz) and Josie in Singapore. We started by building a mobile app for consumers to track their carbon footprint from Mobility and eventually expanded to other categories and made a service for businesses.

We hired Barguss & Batistić to work on UI/UX design of our mobile and web apps.

How did you select this vendor?

Barguss & Batistić were referred to us by another friend working on their app in the sustainability space. We had already been working with another freelancer but we were not entirely satisfied with our design process and results.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

They started by interviewing us and understanding our core ideas and understanding what the current users of the app were feeling. We worked with them to refine our ideas on what features and ideas we wanted to build and then they came up with a few wireframe options. We then discussed and chose one to proceed to the next steps. They finalized the designs and app flow. After this first project, the future work was very smooth and easy as we found real confidence in their ability to understand the problems and deliver great solutions through design.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Mostly we worked with Lee but Nives was also there on the calls and chat sometimes. At the end of the day we are not sure who worked more on the actual designs, but we always got quality work.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were very pleased with the results. Some of the corner cases we had to build for a key feature were really complex and we were amazed at how easy they made the whole flow and our users were able to figure things out on their own which was the main goal of their services.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Both Lee and Nives were responsive and easy to reach out to. They were proactive in setting up calls and asking for any missing information which made the communication process very productive.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

1. Their focus was always on problem-solving through simple effective UX.
2. Their turn-around times were superb.
3. Their pricing was very competitive.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

To be honest, there's nothing we could have asked more of.

I am the founder and director of Version 22 Design LTD, a UK based consumer products company founded in 2013.

We were looking to launch the 2nd version of our original product Geco Hub with a bang in 2020 but didn't have the necessary design expertise in-house. We needed specific expertise in graphic design and marketing content to produce quality material for the launch of our crowdfunding campaign.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had worked with both Lee and Nives in the past on several projects and knew them to be talented, reliable and easy to work with, so partnering with them again through Barguss & Batistić was a no brainer!

Being 2020, everything was done remotely, starting with kick-off video calls and brainstorming sessions, before coming up with a budget, timeline and action plan. From there on Barguss & Batistić took the brief and ran with it, producing brilliant content to support the campaign.

In total we worked with two people, Lee and Nives. Lee headed up the video production and Nives led the graphic design efforts.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video content and graphics they produced for the campaign were second-to-none and instrumental in the success of our crowdfunding campaign. We ended up raising over 5x our original goal in pre-sales!

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was seamless, with communication near real-time and Barguss & Batistić being very responsive to the changing needs of the campaign as it developed. Rather than being an added source of stress (as can often be the case with outside partners), they actually took a lot of the stress out of the whole process.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What I have always been impressed by with Barguss & Batistić is not just the consistent quality of output or the speed and flexibility they're able to operate at, but the fact that they were the voice of experience in design projects, helping us make important design decisions in our project.

I've worked on multiple business ventures, some have done ok, some haven't, but they've all needed design work of some kind. Whether it's been UI/UX work, logo design, website design, graphics for social media, hand drawn illustrations for the websites.

I searched online on design sites for work that I liked the style of as well as reaching out to my network

B&B were able to send me questions to help fully understand what I needed. We were then able to clarify further through discussions and sharing of initial drafts. The B&B team were able to share sketches in the early days, so that too much time wasn't spent on prototypes that weren't right. They would then work to create the full design and were quick to adjust to any feedback.

The B&B team were able to create great designs and turnaround work quickly, always taking on feedback and providing suggestions where necessary.

Their design style is great and can be adapted, they're quick to respond and deliver on time - I really can't fault them.

We had extensive interviews with the team, and Barguss & Batistić conducted detailed testing of the existing app, whilst takign time to understand the objectives of the project. Barguss & Batistić presented concepts (which were of excellent quality) and were really receptive to feedback.
