I am the owner of Hammer Gym. We are a local gym and a known brand in the fitness industry here in the Maldives.

What challenge were you trying to address with aTeamIndia?
We needed someone to create a mobile app for us.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
In the Maldives, there are no local organizations that have a fitness app, so aTeamIndia proposed the idea to me, and I wanted to give it a try. The app is for both iOS and Android and it is already in the App Store and Play Store. It's about general fitness and nutrition.
We just launched the app with basic elements like a workout routine that users can create by themselves. There is an option where they can communicate with a trainer, as well as a nutrition part which is something the user has to do by themselves.
We launched it to get some feedback so that we can improve in the future. We now have some feedback and we are working on the update which will have general options where the user can choose the workout they want from basic, intermediate or advanced options.
Those three options will be in the update as well as diet plans for weight reduction, and some nutritional diet plans for weight gain. aTeamIndia is going to come up with an update by the end of next month.
What is the team composition?
I have been in contact with the project manager. I felt it would be best to just be in touch with one person who could then speak to his team.
How did you come to work with aTeamIndia?
They were handling IT things for several companies here. They found out about our gym and asked us if we were interested in working with them. I decided we might as well give it a try because there was no other fitness app in the Maldives.
How much have you invested in them?
We split the payment into two, and we paid $20,000 in total.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with them around September 2019, and we’re are still working with them.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We launched the app in June 2020, and so far, there are 1,130 users that are currently using the app. It was very satisfying and was above my expectations.
Most of the feedback is good, and people have been suggesting more options that could be added. There is no negative feedback, and everyone is surprised and very excited because it is the first fitness app here.

We have been communicating through phone and email. They are very punctual and delivered the app sooner than expected in my case.
What did you find most impressive about them?
aTeamIndia did a very good job with the orders of the exercises. They were very well aware of the exercises. They did a fine job with the nutrition work as well.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I think they can improve the diet plan functionality.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
When they first approached me, I was a little scared that they wouldn’t be able to deliver something like this. Now that I have experienced it, I would suggest relying on them completely because they do deliver on time. You can trust their word.

Our website was outdated, so we engaged aTeamIndia to build a new site that was not only visually beautiful but also high-functioning. The site needed to accommodate the challenges of the luxury car rental business. For instance, we generally replace part of our fleet every six months. We also needed to integrate complex algorithms, which calculate important considerations like fuel costs, amortization, and customer location. Finally, we wanted to rank higher on Google.

What was the scope of their involvement?
aTeamIndia converted our PHP MySQL site into a progressive web app. Our team did conceptual design while aTeamIndia completed technical design. We collaborated on database queries. Their team ensured backup by running the site on multiple servers. They also helped collect and incorporate large amounts of data and content, such as vehicle specifications and photographs of cars. In addition to developing the site, aTeamIndia provided SEO.
Since launching the site, aTeamIndia has developed many features and site components. For instance, we rent cars with chauffeurs, and they recently added that service to our website.

We are renting cars every day because of aTeamIndia. Before our partnership, 25–30% of our bookings happened on the site. Now, 30% of bookings are over the phone, and 70% occur on the site.
We have found that the beautiful photographs and detailed specifications encourage users to spend more money than they did on our former site.
How did aTeamIndia perform from a project management standpoint?
aTeamIndia communicated well. They were very responsive and facilitated a classic project management approach. We utilized bar and Gantt charts and had daily, weekly, or monthly meetings, depending on the need.
We had to thoroughly explain requirements due to the language difference, but they did well in the end.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The site has had very few bugs. We were impressed that the company owner contributed to the technical work. The team was flexible and highly skilled.
aTeamIndia did not have prior experience in the luxury car rental business, but they quickly understood our business and how our SQL functioned.
Are there any areas they could improve?
At times, I would’ve liked them to listen better and adhere to our way of doing things; however, this could’ve been because it was their first time developing a rental car site.

One of our partners at Blacksmith International knew of Abhinand’s work and recommended him to our Brian (CEO, Blacksmith International). Brian spoke with Abhinand and his team while we were opening a small operation in India. We later brought on aTeamIndia to program this custom tool.

We discussed it a few times, and Abhinand reorganized the project—shifting resources and rethinking how we build the program. We thought the solution presented well to clients, and aTeamIndia’s support for new features made a positive impression as well. I thought they did particularly well with product integration.

They were always very responsive to my requests. We most often communicated through Skype, and phone. The project manager was very responsive and would sometimes help me after hours as well. There was a time when I needed 24-hour support to make sure the system was up and running and they were open to monitor it. aTeamIndia offered help anytime and I greatly appreciate everything they are doing to help stay active with support.

To create an MVP for an application which will allow customers to sign up and list their storage or enquire for storage solution. There will also be chat functionalities and an integration with payment gateway.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Able to achieve basic needs for the business model to allow customers to onboard on their own, list their storage, chat with one another and enquire for storage. This has to be completed within the sprint cycle agreed and design work has to be appealing and easy to understand
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
They use asana as a project management tool.They regularly update their asana with their daily activities. Additionally, they use skype with all the developers onboard with reports done 3 times a day, Start, midday and end. Whereby there is a clear description of daily activities and deliverables in order to hit the agreed timeline for each sprint. This gave us clarity of the progress the an efficient understanding of where the project stand. Additionally the project manager Sarin provided us with weekly updates and fast to respond. Whenever they received a any blockers or misunderstanding, they would clarify with us on issues and at the same time give suggestions on how we can proceed. This allows us to make the most inform decision to ensure projects complete on time. Additional when there are possible delays, Ateam would allocate additional resources without us requesting to do so in order to meet the agreed timeline.

The clear transparency of being completed and done allowing us to plan our roll out day.
Suggestions that the team provides whenever they receive any blocks with our processes.
The project manager always tries to understand the key objective of each functions, in order to suggest further improvements with the application.
Informing us on the best tech stack that should be used in order to achieve our MVP objective whilst remaining under budget.
Allocating additional resources to push the completion of the project without us requiring to step in so that we can meet project timeline requirements.

Their team excelled in project management, development, and design. I am unable to think of other areas to improve
