I am the Founder and Chief of the Ravens Duet Company. We help fun loving people turn local neighborhoods into memorable scavenger hunt adventures in a global social competition. Our mobile app is a collaborative interactive scavenger hunt that brings users outside to safely explore the world around them.

For what projects/services did your company hire aTeamIndia?

When the pandemic hit all our social events had to shut down, and we had to expedite the mobile app project. Without expertise we looked to aTeamIndia to create this mobile app.

We needed them to create a mobile app for users as well as an admin app for our company. We also needed a landing page to provide a marketing window into our mobile app.

What were your goals for this project?

Our main goal was to get the Ravens Duet user app out in both ios and android stores. This was a brand new product so the specific goals changed during the process. ATeamIndia handled the small shifts in end product goals spectacularly.

SOLUTION

How did you select aTeamIndia?

We conducted 12 initial interviews with companies that matched what we wanted in vision, communication, and experience. We narrowed the 2nd interviews down to 3 candidates that fit our expectations the best.

ATeamIndia stood out as the best among these three in 3 clear ways: transparency, confidence in team, and thorough understanding of project vision and ability to get it done. My confidence in aTeamIndia surpassed the others by far.

Describe the project in detail.

Once we officially began the process we submitted our mock-ups for review by aTeamIndia. We discussed project goals and clarified our vision. We then had a series of UX/UI design submissions from aTeamIndia that we tweeked and approved.

After all screens were approved we moved into building the app through an asana agile process. Towards the end of this process aTeamIndia created a spectacular landing page for our mobile app. Finally they worked through pushing the app into the ios app store and google play store.

What was the team composition?

We had a project manager throughout the process to communicate with. This person changed once in the process but we always had an open line of communication with aTeamIndia. We were made aware that their team had 2 front end, 2 back end, 1 UX/Ui design, and potentially more on the team to help with specific projects.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

It is early in the launch of our product and our marketing is still working on getting our name/product out there. Our team satisfaction with final product is 100%. Will update on positive outcomes as they arrive later this year.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We were given clear expectations on when things would be completed. There were a few delays in launch of our mobile app, but this is due to the world as it is today and ios app difficulties (That aTeamIndia handled well).

The workflow between my company and theirs was great. Communication was always there. Advice and feedback was well received in both directions.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their clear communication is above and beyond what we could have hoped for. Keeping us involved and doing the work and being open to our feedback at all times was exactly what we needed. They ensured a great product for us, that we were a part of, and we are grateful for that.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We will always want to get our product faster, but quality is more important than speed. ATeamIndia provided a quality product that we are truly grateful for.

I am the owner of Hammer Gym. We are a local gym and a known brand in the fitness industry here in the Maldives.

What challenge were you trying to address with aTeamIndia?

We needed someone to create a mobile app for us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

In the Maldives, there are no local organizations that have a fitness app, so aTeamIndia proposed the idea to me, and I wanted to give it a try. The app is for both iOS and Android and it is already in the App Store and Play Store. It's about general fitness and nutrition.

We just launched the app with basic elements like a workout routine that users can create by themselves. There is an option where they can communicate with a trainer, as well as a nutrition part which is something the user has to do by themselves. 

We launched it to get some feedback so that we can improve in the future. We now have some feedback and we are working on the update which will have general options where the user can choose the workout they want from basic, intermediate or advanced options. 

Those three options will be in the update as well as diet plans for weight reduction, and some nutritional diet plans for weight gain. aTeamIndia is going to come up with an update by the end of next month.

What is the team composition?

I have been in contact with the project manager. I felt it would be best to just be in touch with one person who could then speak to his team.

How did you come to work with aTeamIndia?

They were handling IT things for several companies here. They found out about our gym and asked us if we were interested in working with them. I decided we might as well give it a try because there was no other fitness app in the Maldives.

How much have you invested in them?

We split the payment into two, and we paid $20,000 in total.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them around September 2019, and we’re are still working with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We launched the app in June 2020, and so far, there are 1,130 users that are currently using the app. It was very satisfying and was above my expectations.

Most of the feedback is good, and people have been suggesting more options that could be added. There is no negative feedback, and everyone is surprised and very excited because it is the first fitness app here. 

How did aTeamIndia perform from a project management standpoint?

We have been communicating through phone and email. They are very punctual and delivered the app sooner than expected in my case.

What did you find most impressive about them?

aTeamIndia did a very good job with the orders of the exercises. They were very well aware of the exercises. They did a fine job with the nutrition work as well. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think they can improve the diet plan functionality. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

When they first approached me, I was a little scared that they wouldn’t be able to deliver something like this. Now that I have experienced it, I would suggest relying on them completely because they do deliver on time. You can trust their word.

we are still in the testing phase for now.

the coms from abhi and team were first class very understanding and great manners. they understood me completely and if there was any issues they were always very professional

Everything I ask about, they know the answer. If they were unsure they would let me know and go do fact checking to make sure i was always in the right place.

due to covid-19 things were a bit slower but to be honest this was not there fault but still delivered the project . 100% as promised

aTeamIndia provides very proficient project management. They utilize different tools like Slack, Trello, and Asana to track performance and ensure deadlines are met. Their team composition has been consistent and effective.

Customer success is their top priority. aTeamIndia will work overtime to foster a positive customer experience. They have excellent morale and team spirit.

I’m the owner of a luxury car rental company. We are based in Switzerland and have branches across Europe.

What challenge were you trying to address with aTeamIndia?

Our website was outdated, so we engaged aTeamIndia to build a new site that was not only visually beautiful but also high-functioning. The site needed to accommodate the challenges of the luxury car rental business. For instance, we generally replace part of our fleet every six months. We also needed to integrate complex algorithms, which calculate important considerations like fuel costs, amortization, and customer location. Finally, we wanted to rank higher on Google. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

aTeamIndia converted our PHP MySQL site into a progressive web app. Our team did conceptual design while aTeamIndia completed technical design. We collaborated on database queries. Their team ensured backup by running the site on multiple servers. They also helped collect and incorporate large amounts of data and content, such as vehicle specifications and photographs of cars. In addition to developing the site, aTeamIndia provided SEO.

Since launching the site, aTeamIndia has developed many features and site components. For instance, we rent cars with chauffeurs, and they recently added that service to our website.

For the site development project, we worked with six people.

One of our team members had previously worked with aTeamIndia and recommended them.

What is the status of this engagement?

Site development spanned December 2015–February 2017. The aTeamIndia team continues to develop and maintain the site.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We are renting cars every day because of aTeamIndia. Before our partnership, 25–30% of our bookings happened on the site. Now, 30% of bookings are over the phone, and 70% occur on the site.

We have found that the beautiful photographs and detailed specifications encourage users to spend more money than they did on our former site.

How did aTeamIndia perform from a project management standpoint?

aTeamIndia communicated well. They were very responsive and facilitated a classic project management approach. We utilized bar and Gantt charts and had daily, weekly, or monthly meetings, depending on the need.

We had to thoroughly explain requirements due to the language difference, but they did well in the end.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The site has had very few bugs. We were impressed that the company owner contributed to the technical work. The team was flexible and highly skilled.

aTeamIndia did not have prior experience in the luxury car rental business, but they quickly understood our business and how our SQL functioned.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At times, I would’ve liked them to listen better and adhere to our way of doing things; however, this could’ve been because it was their first time developing a rental car site.

Any advice for potential customers?

I recommend working with Abhinand (Co-Founder & Director, aTeamIndia) and Sanoj (Project Manager, aTeamIndia).

I’m the director of operations for Blacksmith International, a manufacturing outsourcing company.

What challenge were you trying to address with aTeamIndia?

After looking for an existing software system to help manage our projects, we engaged aTeamIndia to build a custom web-based tool.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We provided a wireframe and a basic list of our needs at first. aTeamIndia built the tool in Laravel and created a backend database using GitLab. Among other features, the program creates work-in-progress reports to assist with managing supply-chain pipelines. Its scope and functionality have expanded significantly since the project’s beginning.

What is the team composition?

We started coordinating with Abhinand (Director & Co-Founder, aTeamIndia). We then worked with Abhishek (Senior Software Architect, aTeamIndia) and Rahul (QA Engineer, aTeamIndia). Abhishek served as both our project manager and lead programmer for about a year. We now work with three people, including a dedicated project manager. Abhinand continues to oversee everything but is not involved in day-to-day operations.

How did you come to work with aTeamIndia?

One of our partners at Blacksmith International knew of Abhinand’s work and recommended him to our Brian (CEO, Blacksmith International). Brian spoke with Abhinand and his team while we were opening a small operation in India. We later brought on aTeamIndia to program this custom tool.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent $20,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in December 2017, and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The tool has launched and has increased internal efficiency by 30%–40%. We can quickly find details and view an overall situation, and our operations and collaborative efforts have improved dramatically. aTeamIndia continues to add and enhance functionalities, but we’re still pleased with the results so far. We’re looking into creating a SaaS platform based on the model that we can sell later on.

How did aTeamIndia perform from a project management standpoint?

The collaboration had its ups and downs at first. Abhinand excelled at providing feedback and showing initiative, but his team was not as forthcoming and proactive at first. We discussed it a few times, and Abhinand reorganized the project—shifting resources and rethinking how we build the program. Our collaboration now runs smoothly; the team communicates well, and their performance, speed, and efficiency are excellent. We’ve grown mutually from the experience.

Their responsiveness, reliability, and responsibility stand out the most to me. The team takes their work seriously and is highly receptive to feedback. aTeamIndia fully utilizes their skills and resources to maximize our results.

Regular self-assessment and benchmarking against other companies are useful practices.

Have a vision of the end product and measurable goal in mind at the project’s beginning. Explain your expectations thoroughly, including why you want specific requirements and suggesting alternatives if an initial idea doesn’t work out.

I needed help with custom software development.

aTeamIndia created a web-based backend management system with multiple features to control and manage data inputs with a frontend interface.

We are constantly adding new features, including third-party integrations.

Most of the work was done using PHP mixed with CodeIgniter, Node.js, and Angular.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our solution is second-most popular among curling clubs. It’s user-friendly, which was my top goal, very intuitive and reliable.

This was a really challenging project, and demand for adding new features grew very rapidly. They implemented any improvements or changes right away. We thought the solution presented well to clients, and aTeamIndia’s support for new features made a positive impression as well. I thought they did particularly well with product integration.

How did aTeamIndia perform from a project management standpoint?

They were always very responsive to my requests. We most often communicated through Skype, and phone. The project manager was very responsive and would sometimes help me after hours as well. There was a time when I needed 24-hour support to make sure the system was up and running and they were open to monitor it. aTeamIndia offered help anytime and I greatly appreciate everything they are doing to help stay active with support.

They are willing to help no matter what and they’re very reliable. Very quick at providing a quick solution or workaround.

Not really, I wish they were closer so I can meet them and thank in person for everything they did.
